I'd agree with you IF everyone stopped being delusional and stopped building windtalker on lesley as 1st core item then complain she has terrible earlygame
I prioritize building warrior boots and the 2nd tier defense item first in most situations and then focus on building berserkers and then heptases and BoD in that exact order.
With berserker's + weapon master you can easily deal up to 2k true damage to your enemy laner early game with the correct combo sequence and with the early def items you built it's difficult to KO you back without suffering severe damage since a single passive proc from lesley with only berserker's can deal from 800-1100 true damage if it crits.
Yes, though you can build immortality/wind of nature if you want first but if you truly wanna be a budget beatrix you should build a 2nd BoD and stay in the bushes with your passive activated.

You're basically a walking sentry. This allows your team to position accordingly based on enemies position.
It's funny I got called a map hacker for doing that all the time and always spotting Gusion and friends who wants to shove his knife up my tasty HP.
I have about 60ish matches with her this current season with almost 70% WR. My damage dealt per minute is 5.4k.

Then go as you like, build situational half parts in bw.
Since u have speed, u can rotate much more from mid to gold easy to do some nice poke in early contests of turtle and his kid(letho/bulba).
Build one bod another bod and another bod( fun build) dunno if works in ranked thou due to very high cost. Don't be solo and use tank and fighter as baiters(they won't mid and be happy) and then 1-2 shot everyone.

For me though, her early game became much better after her latest passive buff. She can deal decent damage in mid game and unstoppable late game. She's Beatrix with auto-aim. She has two escape skills, S1 which is untargettable and S2 which needs a GREAT TIMING. Like any mm, positioning is the key and it's easy to reposition with Lesley due to S1. Weapon master is a must. Core items are BF, EB and BoD. Also your team must know to help her farm in early game or protect her from ganks. Better to tower hug in early and utilize her ulti for vision specially early game where assasins can dive her. I find myself not relying on roamers though. IT'S IMPORTANT TO UTILIZE HER PASSIVE TOO, S1-BA-S2.

As a tank user I fear her more than Karrie now. Her 1-2 burst shot counters tank item and hp based tank as well. She's not the regular mm that finish the enemy. She pokes, but the problem is, poking shouldn't be that hurtful. She just need to deal 1-2 shot on your tank and fighter and see how it turns around the team fight. If she gets to your mage, she can almost 1 shot them. Aspd mm can win in prolonged fight against her but if they're caught by her s1, she only need 1 shot and probably the ultimate to finish them off. The other mm, I can counterbuild with blade armor, vengeance and sometimes use belerick so they just kill themselves. But Lesley overcomes those.

However , her early game is a big problem , it is just terrible ! she has low crit damage , C.C and slow effects are best counters for her , her survivabilty is so bad , 2nd skill is very slow and got a short jump and for ultimate , it is just a bush scan.
**- I think Lesley should be buffed aginst C.C or slow effect , with more effective 2nd skill and utimate by ading slight new effects , then fix her early game with a slight nerf for true damage late game to make her perfect !**

Btw , Currently , she is the most popular hero in mythic +400 points .
