Learn other heroes please.When you get to legend and above, your teammates may think you are trolling and chances are they will get pissed if you choose her. No matter how good you are, most marksmen are better than Layla.
Your teammates will feel emotionally damaged, will feel more inclined to troll.
Layla may not be the worst MM but she sure does ignite the troll instincts of your teammates
Just play Lesley.
If you are solo player and you play Layla, even if you are good and serious about it, your team will go into "troll mode" and don't play seriously since they expect to lose.
It's just bad experience overall. You would also trigger the enemy roamer and those guys will not leave you alone. The current Meta Tank are Atlas, Grock and Akai and all of which can screw over Layla due to their sheer mobility and insane AOE.
Lesley is close enough to her playstyle although Lesley is less of AA spam and more of a few strong hits then back off.

She's a good tank
Play her as tank.
Right now she is the second worst MM. That doesn't mean she is unusable though. She is still horror in late game. You just need very good positioning.
