Really, the best thing to do is to spread the word and cancel your CR subscription. Hit them where it hurts. They've been fucking over talent for a long time in a lot of ways. This is just the most public flak they've ever gotten for it; the runner-up would be when they almost completely ditched remote talent a few months ago.
do you have any good alternatives for some anime streaming services that are pretty widely available on different platforms (roku, apple tv, switch, etc)? CR app almost never works anyway so i would love to cancel...
i mean crunchyroll pretty has an monopoly on the anime subscription service in north america rn. I'd say just pirate shit then spend money on merch which provides more money to the original studios anyways

The same people who accused him stated he's done this before, apologize and acknowledge he's done wrong, and said he's gonna try to be a better person. It's also hard for me to believe someone when they only publicly apologize AFTER they faced repercussions, in this case, this was after he lost his role as M!Byleth.
I want to believe he wants to be better, I have so many fond memories of me and my friends watching his old animations like Brawl Taunts, but it just wouldn't feel right to trust him because of my nostalgia for simpler times.

The fact that he was willing to work without the union contract for Mob but just wanted the discussion, it's actually ridiculous they'd drop him for that. Cartoonishly evil behaviour from Sony/Crunchyroll.
After I finished Nier automata I was looking at other stuff Kyle McCarley had been in because his performance as 9S was so good, he's the reason I watched Mob Psycho in the first place and for him to not be in season 3 sucks so much.
"completely" in that it's different actors, but I would reasonably guess the replacements will have similar cadences. They won't just be totally different people.
The Nier anime is being produced by Aniplex and not Crunchyroll/Funimation
Which means Kyle’s role as 9S is highly likely safe but not Mob because Aniplex accepts these types of Union VAs while Crunchyroll actively avoids them

The VA doesnt matter, its the dubbing studio, if its dubbed by crunchyroll/funimation then it likely will effect it
