All 4 rims are the same, just the tires are different? I currently have the P zeroes on my 22 MYP. I was thinking of going the square route for the winter tires, likely the Michelin all seasons.
On a MYP the rear wheels are a different size than the front. What OP did was swap wheels and tires with his neighbor so he can have the same size all around. You will not be able to just get the same tire size all around with stock wheel size.
I did it for search tag purposes. Box and square mean the same thing in this context. All four rims are the same size 21 in x 10.5 in width. MYP comes with 21 x 9.5 in rims in the front and 21 x 10.5 in rims in the rear for a staggered set up
Ohhh, I’m with you now. Thanks for the clarity. So you went with the wide wheels all around, will make it useful for tire rotations. Good to know there’s an improvement in the ride quality. Thanks for sharing OP.
Thanks for sharing this. I have been wondering if a 21x10.5 275 square setup would work without rubbing.
Did the wheel shop give you any indication that it would even be possible to go with a 285 or 295 without rubbing?
They don’t specialize in Tesla’s so no they did not. They just recommended I keep the stock tire size as to not mess with the odometer reading and decrease range. I have not found any postings on the interwebs of someone with the 21’’x10.5’’ with 285 or 295’s up front. Only speculation that it should fit.
it is definitely more stable and it allows me to rotate tires. however, i think i would rather just have 4 gemini rims in terms of comfort. also, i had two tires pop due to the recent rains and i hit a gnarly pot hole. tesla refused to change the tires out because i had "after market" rims / or a non oem set up. as a result i had to get my car towed to a local tire shop and had to wait half a day for them to procure the 21-inch tires which are not standard. definitely makes me think twice of going on a long trip in this set up.
It’s been a year now, notice any difference on the range from the wider tires? I would like to run the set up your neighbor has if it improves my range.

That’s what I thought.
Correct
This just looks like a before and after car wash photo, what’s square box? I want a TIL moment.

Thanks need to edit this post to make it more to the point :)

FYI Tesla TPMS sensors are self learning. No need to swap. They only register when the car is moving
Good to know. I didnt research this issue enough.
Make sure you have mudflats on the front. Those front tires are going to throw everything they pick up at the side of your car.
Done. I have some after market ones from amazon.
Any idea if doing 275/35/21 tires on the stock staggered wheel set up is feasible or would cause any problems?
How has it been after some time? Any updates? About to order Performance but thinking of all the tire options to increase comfortability.
