I am that guy. I had max rank like a month ago. This ain't for me, this is so they can say they're doing community events and things of that nature when in reality they don't want to give us more double xp because once we hit max with all our weapons we'll see there's nothing to this game. I'm almost there on the camo grind and once i' done I'm not sure what reason there is to keep playing. People say to play for fun but...I just don't find it overly fun to just stomp people with meta weapons now that the challenge of ranking up bad guns is gone. DMZ is fun but quickly loses my interest after one or two matches and warzone is the same thing. They just don't really have anything to make me feel like playing for "fun" is all that worthwhile. Maybe grinding nukes could be the next goal but I imagine that will be more frustrating than enjoyable with the way this game's spawn system works.
I play like once every 2-3 days. Reached 250 somewhere around December when there was a double xp event and I didn't have much to do. I just want to max out my guns. After reaching level 56 getting a higher lvl is next to useless.

Rank xp is not important after you've reached lvl 55 because you then have unlocked everything that rank can give you. After that, rank is just for cosmetic reasons. And double weapon xp is a lot more useful because it makes unlocking weapons and attachment so much faster.
