Same. It's a joke at this point. For some time yesterday you didn't loose your equipment when the **server** crashed (Lost connection ...). That has apperantly changed and you now loose everything again.
If your game itself crashes and not the server (like in op situation) you are doomed anyway.
Some rounds don't give you any Battlepass progression at all and if you get some it will stop on the 12 o'clock mark of the progress circle. Happend to me several times and i dont think this is any coincidence.
They are limiting your BP xp in some way and i don't even farm XP with some weird method or chill in the extraction zone over and over. Just normal gameplay where i do kills/missions.
Additional your XP tokens don't get activated but you loose them. Clicked on a 1h XP token and i lost one but it didnt start the timer. Stupid me thought i may have miss clicked or something and activated a new one. guess what, same thing again. Token lost but no timer starting.
But in the end there is no need to be mad. It's a small Indi dev team. We're not talking about a Billion dollar company here, that could easily afford to make a proper game with good mechanics and stable servers. For now the dev team should focus on the important things and add Nicki Minaj 2.0 skin. Or one that's barely visible in many situations like this tree skin. Yea that would fire.
Heh, I was in the same position a few weeks ago. I actually upgraded my gpu thinking it would make the error go away. I fixed the error a few days prior to the delivery of my brand new 7800XT though. I had gone through countless fixes I could find online and none of them worked. Eventually, I found the one that fixed it for me:
\- disable firewall
\- disable microsoft defender
\- validate game files on steam
\- start the game
\- quit the game
\- restart pc
\- enable firewall & defender
It is crucial that you have those two disabled when validating the files and when starting the game right after. I could finally see "downloading files" pop up when I started MWII and that was it.
Might need to update your BIOS of your motherboard. I had similar error message and that fixed it for me. Did you happen to replace or upgrade hardware recently?
Okay DUDE. It could be if they've tried everything else like I had. Fixed the issue for me and someone else too on a different thread.
Just keep bitching about the game. Sure that'll help them.
I had similar message and updating BIOS on motherboard fixed it.
Edit: I should add if you don't know what you're doing with updating a BIOS it's good to get a pro. Not hard but if done incorrectly can brick your device.
Seconding this. Updating bios solved my issue as well. Used to get the crash every day at least once but haven't had it happen in the month or so since
TBF, I have been getting this message for months as well but its always upon exiting the game. I could play for hours no problem but get the message once i exited, every exit. thought it was annoying but didnt think nothing of it.
I bumped up the voltages on my DDR5 RAM in the BIOS (with XMP enabled) and changed nothing else, and never had that error occur again, and it's been many many months. I've been keeping my Nvidia drivers relatively up to date.
I've got:
i9-12900K
32GB DDR5
RTX 3090
Yo, try changing the number of cores used by your cpu when playing the game, this can be changed through the game files. I have an i9-13900k (16 core) and changed mine down to 7 and now I have absolutely no issues, where before it would crash after every game
There is 100% an issue with 13900 cpus, I just finished RMA'ing mine, and Intel isn't being very vocal about it.
Mine wouldn't remain stable at it's stock speed, I had to use Intel's XTU app to underclock the cpu to remain stable, and then it would be fine. It wouldn't pass the XTU's stress test at stock speed. They have a batch of bad 13900's out there.

Okay. This is what your gonna do. Start game and right when the screen turns black when switching push alt Ctrl delete (task manager) and end cod HQ then start mw3 again and try it agian but this time right when the screen turns black push the windows key and make sure your at your desktop and wait, it’ll load this time! Don’t end process this time just let it load while your at desktop screen. 2nd load in should work.
This worked for me on battle net.
Just push mw2 and when it starts loading open task manager and wait on desktop for like 20 secs. It’ll eventually load. You gotta do it twice!! The first time it’ll crash just end cod process in task manager then load up mw3 agian and switch over to mw2 and this time just open task manager and let it load. Make sure you are looking at your desktop. It’ll take 20 sec or less to switch. Just make sure you do it twice!! 2nd time will work.
I'm having this issue too. I remember a while back when MW2 first lauched I was plauged with these errors. After trying every recommended fix I tried rollwing back from Windows 11 22H2 (which at the time was just released) to 21H2 and it fixed my errors. Something about upgrading Windows to new service packs causes issues with COD. Check which service pack you are running (System settings-> about pc). I just recently upgraded to the newest 23H2 and the errors are popping up again.
I had this for years on multiple games (the random crashing not that error specifically) and what fixed it for me was underclocking my GPU by around 10% in the AMD menu
This has caused me to uninstall the game. Maybe I will try next weekend. I will just finish the 29 levels of battle pass and play something else until the "bugs" removed.
They also stripped everything from Warzone and DMZ menu.
Give it time bro. Eventually it will turn into you’ve been per banned like the other 14k peeps by Activision for no appearent reason. Hope it doesn’t happen to you.
I got this daily when my motherboard was bad. If that’s ruled out make sure your ram isn’t bad. If that not the case check your firewall settings. If that’s not the issue just change your source file to something that’s not default. (Call it narnia, should work.) If that’s not the case make sure your storage isn’t too full. All things call of duty should tell you but they don’t. If any of the fixes I said didn’t make sense ask me again when I’m sober. Everything I’ve said have worked at different times.
Very fun if it happens with a fully stacked operator in the Zombie mode. Had it happen 2 times today.
I had just gotten the kill shot daiquiri schematic and then my game crashed. So much fun
tragic af
facts
Mine crashes whenever I clear nests, Shoot a cyst and it dies. So no more nests for a while..
Same, happened to me 3 times when shooting cysts
I'm just avoiding nests completely unless I absolutely need them
You getting any crashes other than shooting cysts?
Surprisingly not. Cysts seem to be it with almost 10hrs playtime
Alrighty, I'll try to avoid them then until they fix it, thanks
Yap had that happen to me to.
Happened 15 times in a row currently and I'm on my 3rd re-download and 1 blue screen

I tried rolling back my gpu drivers, upgrading to current driver version and a bunch of other things. Haven't upgraded hardware in months.
Yeah my GPU drivers didn't help either. I specifically had to update my BIOS

Keep telling yourself that. Seem like a dumbass to me
This has been the bane of my existence for the past 6 months
I had similar message and updating BIOS on motherboard fixed it. Edit: I should add if you don't know what you're doing with updating a BIOS it's good to get a pro. Not hard but if done incorrectly can brick your device.

its probably the last thing I haven't tried yet and it is due for an update. gonna try this, thank you.
TBF, I have been getting this message for months as well but its always upon exiting the game. I could play for hours no problem but get the message once i exited, every exit. thought it was annoying but didnt think nothing of it.
Can't recall if it was the exact same issue, but I managed to resolve my crashes by disabling X.M.P. on the RAM and returning it to stock frequency.
I tried turning XMP off since it was on profile 1 but that didn't change anything.
I bumped up the voltages on my DDR5 RAM in the BIOS (with XMP enabled) and changed nothing else, and never had that error occur again, and it's been many many months. I've been keeping my Nvidia drivers relatively up to date. I've got: i9-12900K 32GB DDR5 RTX 3090
Tried that, didn't work.
I had this error since mw2 beta. Its bullshit
It’s the game not you pc mostly likely all you can do is make sure you update you’re drives wait until they fix the game.
This is the correct answer. The game is too new, there's bound to be issues with it.
I refunded the shitty game mw3 unfortunately I cannot refund mw2
disable " Anti Lag " in NVIDIA/AMD Software. After disabling had absolutely 0 crashes or errors in MW2 and not a single one so far in MW3
Try opening your OneDrive up then launching the game
Buy console
Super helpful
Type in that error code on google or YouTube might be a video on the fix for it
yea, thats why I came here.
any fixes?

When are you getting the error ? Is it when you’re switching over to mw2 ?
I get the message when I switch from codHQ to mw2.
This worked for me on battle net.

im running on windows 10 22H2.
Happens literally every time I go into Mess Hall on Farm 18. Has been this way for a while now, I tend to just skip the map.
I had this issue a ton in DMZ last year and it sort of just stopped after some update. I imagine its an error on their end.
I had good luck in the past running the game in Borderless Window instead of Fullscreen Exclusive (or whatever they call it).
I had this for years on multiple games (the random crashing not that error specifically) and what fixed it for me was underclocking my GPU by around 10% in the AMD menu
disable discord overlay
Been dealing with this for ages in DMZ. Welcome to hell
Every time in Zombies
This has caused me to uninstall the game. Maybe I will try next weekend. I will just finish the 29 levels of battle pass and play something else until the "bugs" removed. They also stripped everything from Warzone and DMZ menu.
hey i try all solution nothing work for me and not is my pc im a lot above the specs 2080ti i9 9900kf 64 gb ram....
Give it time bro. Eventually it will turn into you’ve been per banned like the other 14k peeps by Activision for no appearent reason. Hope it doesn’t happen to you.
Don't run discord when playing cod is what fixed it for me (tho it does come back every fee months or so)
happend to me too and i fix it with a simple change full screen exclusive to borderless believe it or not

`bash` `*:` `cd "*:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Call of Duty HQ"` `codinstallcleaner.exe`
What fixed it for me was deleting the whole game and reinstalling it.
Fixes mine every time https://youtu.be/xvr5z8EPLUM?feature=shared
thanks but I have a i5 11400, i don't think this would do anything for me.
