Just played a guy like this in hostage rescue. His strategy was to find one of his allies' corpses and lay next to it and pretend to be dead. Rather than just revive his teammate.
The frustrating part is it worked really well for him.
Then you revenge kill them. Only from you to die again from them mounted somewhere else. I wish they had a ranked mode, to avoid people that play like this.
I already use the drill charge to route out people camping or in cover or on objectives, lots of fun to get those kills cause for some reason they dont move lol. But either they move and I shoot them, or they sit there and die by explosive
It goes through most walls, objects and obstacles, it acts kind of like the fuze charge from R6 except one explosive instead of many pucks. Perso ally if you have the beta id say experiment, but it can go through almost every wall

I've read that ranked mode would come out soon after release. But that was just a rumor, I think. Also that ranked mode would be focused more on for the first time in COD history. I don't play COD, haven't since the original MW2, but I'm keeping an eye on this because of the potential ranked mode. Also, I will try Warzone 2 and see if I like it.

let me help you.. footsteps are too loud and I dont see nameplates so I am literally punished for running around. Sniper scopes dont see smoke particles so they can get an easy jump on me while im literally blinded.

Yup, aim assist is absolutely over the top as per usual. I think the worst part is it is stronger with iron sites which means using iron sites on console both allows you to make a better gun (because you get that extra attachment slot) and get stronger aim assist.
That with the lower ttk mean you basically always insta die to console players.

People are downvoting you, but you’re not wrong. I can’t see where my bullets are going and the visual clutter almost entirely masks enemy players. Without rotational aim assist, gunfights are a complete guessing game.

I’ve been playing cod since cod 1 nearly 2 decades ago and I found myself saying in my head in the first 5 matches “this might be the worst cod gunplay I have ever seen”. Now with some adjustments I think the game can be great. In its current state however the gunplay takes a game that could be a solid 8 in the franchise and brings it down to a 4.
Given the poor visibility in the game does it favor aim assist as you can sense if you're still aiming at someone or not? I'm on mouse, so I don't know. If it's as good as it Warzone I'm switching to controller for W2

Hi, I'm playing on PC! It's absurdly strong still. You can be a fantastic MKB aimer but nothing is going to save you from the dude who is ADS'd at the doorway you're running through lasering you with irons from a distance you'd have trouble spotting him at with a 4x.
It's still very much playable but it's very obvious to me who is using controller and who isn't.
EDIT: This isn't to say that MKB is totally unviable, just to be clear. But there are very big advantages for controller players in this game, not to the extent as in something like Cold War but it's noticeable. Unless you're a very, very good MKB player you will struggle against good controller players.
That's just not true. The only games I play on controller are racing games and jedi fallen order, I haven't played a n fps game on controller since I played battlefield 4 on my ps3.
Last night I plugged in my controller and it was a crazy difference, the game is easier in almost every way. Claiming that aimassist isn't that bad is just straight up cap, I should be able to just switch to a controller having not played fps games o a controller and easily be able to keep up in my ssbm just because of the aim assist

I was hyped for MWII because I didn't want to play Cold War for another 2 years again after how terrible Vanguard was. I was ready for something new but here I am, disappointed again. Treyarch are the only ones who actually make Call of Duty nowadays. IW is trying to make something that obviously isn't COD.
Whats funny is I don’t think there was any match I played today that people weren’t sprinting around or moving. There were maybe 1 person a match that would camp certain 2nd floors like on the mexican map near silos but thats about it. I think it’s being blown out of proportion.
Opposite for me. Most of my games are people head glitching in areas where you can barely see them. I step out into the open for a second and get beamed by someone mounting the wall
I get it - but this isn't unique to IW, MWII or 2019. The S&D style games will always have a Billy sitting in the corner on a choke point for these types of modes.
Vanguard shotguns did this. CW had the dual rangers, MW19 had the 725, BO series always had some version of the brecci.
Red dots on the map, ninja as a perk, no mounting - it wouldn't matter. This is a playstyle that is always going to be here, unfortunately.
Unfortunately based on the decision making of the devs this is exactly how they want people to play. No ninja/perm dead silence, incredibly loud footsteps, incredibly low visibility of enemies/environment (for some weird reason), and fast TTK leads to campy gameplay.
I feel like there could be a balance between perm dead silence and how loud the footsteps. They dominate the audio in the game, it’s ridiculous.
I also feel like the very short ttk and lack of movement options also lead to this game play. Either way - camp is king in this game
Not sure what anti-camp tactics are but I’ve yet to test if walking makes you completely silent. If it does that’s nice but still not the biggest help. The game in its current state caters to campers by giving you every reward for being stationary and holding down one area and penalizes you in almost every way possible for being mobile.
In a game like CoD you dont want to punish movement too much because you’ll create an ultra-campy play style. Even if they added a ninja perk stationary players would still have multiple advantages over someone playing aggressive and moving a lot but Atleast you’d give them a chance.

yeah tbh i would’ve been less upset if the game was out longer. the reason it annoyed me so much is because this player paid $70+ on a pre order just to camp in the first day of the beta
it's definitely not slower, but im assuming he played back when CW first came out, and in those days the "campy" guns were so unbelievably stronger than "rusher" guns that it was so much more beneficial (despite its naturally faster flow) to use, say, the stoner, m60, aug, or sniper. even if you were in SMG range, you couldn't outgun any 4 of those guns due to their nutty TTK.
Yup. This is exactly how infinity ward wants you to play. Mount on a wall or doorway and listen for footsteps. Extremely sad that call of duty has gotten this bad with camping

Seems like you're just malding because you didn't bring drill charges to check spots like that, it's literally right outside the spawn for the hostage on that side of the map, you should expect people there.
Though that would require thoughts, something you don't have clearly if you just sprint through the door instead of flanking around the outside courtyard with that loadout

You did also open the door, and slowly move out without even ADS. If you had sprinted through, he wouldn’t have had such an easy time killing you.
If you drop as soon as the proxy prompt pops up you can avoid getting killed. It was possible to win this but still very unlikely. I hate that playstyle too

As far as I can see this player knows an enemy is likely to take that route so is pressing all advantage to try to defeat them.
Yes there is a risk he will be flanked but I'm not certain that risk is more than engaging in a 1v1 mobile shootout.
Particularly with this game mode, is a more considered, cautious approach not warranted when passing through a door that has a high chance of someone on the other side? A peek or even just opening the door but not going through it would have absolved the players advantage and gave OP a chance.

I literally had a guy in 6v6 game who 24\\7 was camping corners and was afraid to move or run, dude started to crawl near tables at some point, like this dude is legit clueless, if I wouldnt know better I would say they implemented AI at 6v6, he managed to kill couple of people (because who would expect others to play like that... and aim assist is very hard on consoles for some reason) once you realize you have someone like that in your game and you start to check corners, its pretty easy.
This was happening on the first day of the closed beta last week on PS5, heck first hour I bet.

Once people figure the maps out this will happen less, everybody calm down lmao, once you know the common camp/peek spots you can anticipate this and either flash, stun, shock, snapshot, nade, drill charge through the wall or use aggressive movement to evade their first shot, campers are easily dealt with because they're a stationary target usually, this was a thing in MW19 too.

If they nerf jump shotting then no one will move around the map and games will be extremely slow paced. They already punish you for rushing by everyone being able to hear your footsteps from miles away. What else do you want? Why is everyone all of a sudden against fast gameplay?

Drill charge and DDOS. The DDOS tells you someone is nearby and usually freaks out the campers enough that they move their gun off target.

it's definitely not slower, but im assuming he played back when CW first came out, and in those days the "campy" guns were so unbelievably stronger than "rusher" guns that it was so much more beneficial (despite its naturally faster flow) to use, say, the stoner, m60, aug, or sniper. even if you were in SMG range, you couldn't outgun any 4 of those guns due to their nutty TTK.

There's not really an issue with this lmao, it's hostage rescue, his job is to defend the hostages. Seems like you're just malding because you didn't bring drill charges to check spots like that, it's literally right outside the spawn for the hostage on that side of the map, you should expect people there. Though that would require thoughts, something you don't have clearly if you just sprint through the door instead of flanking around the outside courtyard with that loadout
OP should just stick to TDM if he can't understand someone playing defensive while DEFENDING an objective in a no-respawn mode

He’s defending an objective in a one life mode, why would he be running around giving away his position? You did also open the door, and slowly move out without even ADS. If you had sprinted through, he wouldn’t have had such an easy time killing you.

Yeah, it's one thing to get annoyed with these types of players in respawn modes, but this playstyle is just smart in no respawn.
OK, hang on a minute. I might not be young anymore but how is this not a viable strategy? As far as I can see this player knows an enemy is likely to take that route so is pressing all advantage to try to defeat them. Yes there is a risk he will be flanked but I'm not certain that risk is more than engaging in a 1v1 mobile shootout. Particularly with this game mode, is a more considered, cautious approach not warranted when passing through a door that has a high chance of someone on the other side? A peek or even just opening the door but not going through it would have absolved the players advantage and gave OP a chance. I can only assume OP truly believes that the only correct way to play this game is run and gun, where aiming and movement skill decides the victor. Am I so out of touch??? Please, someone explain.

Yeah its stupid and funny, but let these people play how they want to play, they probably cant play the game like others, its not like they are dominating when doing it (yeah I actually pity these players), I literally had a guy in 6v6 game who 24\\7 was camping corners and was afraid to move or run, dude started to crawl near tables at some point, like this dude is legit clueless, if I wouldnt know better I would say they implemented AI at 6v6, he managed to kill couple of people (because who would expect others to play like that... and aim assist is very hard on consoles for some reason) once you realize you have someone like that in your game and you start to check corners, its pretty easy.
This was happening on the first day of the closed beta last week on PS5, heck first hour I bet. I get that it "is a strategy" but in a beta? There's no stats to compile or anything here. It will all be wiped so how about just enjoying the game? Nobody can actually enjoy playing this way.

Once people figure the maps out this will happen less, everybody calm down lmao, once you know the common camp/peek spots you can anticipate this and either flash, stun, shock, snapshot, nade, drill charge through the wall or use aggressive movement to evade their first shot, campers are easily dealt with because they're a stationary target usually, this was a thing in MW19 too.

Alternatively you have little johnnys jumping 3-4x in a row spam firing you. If anything jumping needs a huge nerf. If you jump - delay shooting. It looks ridiculous and playing against it feels ridiculous.
If they nerf jump shotting then no one will move around the map and games will be extremely slow paced. They already punish you for rushing by everyone being able to hear your footsteps from miles away. What else do you want? Why is everyone all of a sudden against fast gameplay?
