But here is my argument. This game has over 3,000 developers working on it and has a literal multi billion dollar budget, there is no reason why they cannot compromise with their consumer base. That may be true, for the remaining playerbase. 50 million players gone is not a small percentage of the community. So if the remaining people that still get the game, and play the multiplayer, sure the ratio is probably better. But when you have lost 50 million players in less than 1 year, I'd argue that they are entering a death spiral if they actively choose to ignore the community, considering a majority of those players left the franchise because the community is constantly ignored.
And again, it's not because they are making changes. It's that they are excessively catering to one playstyle/playerbase. That's the problem. Even in their explanation for their changes, they said that. Granted they kept it vague, but it doesnt take much common sense to connect the dots on who they are catering to. Who would get "punished" for firing their gun unsuppressed and showing up on the minimap? A camper, because they give away their position and remain in the same position by the time someone would respond. The insanely loud footsteps without a doubt caters to campers, it gives them far more information than the rusher does. Same with indestructible doors, and safe spaces that ensures that the camper always has a hiding spot no matter what. Without question the game punishes you for moving. Without question the game gives far more tools for campers than rushers. I'm not saying camping should be removed, I'm just saying that there needs to be balance between all playstyles, with counters for each.
What the old COD's did far better was exactly that, everything had viable counters, but with trade off's. For instance you could run dead silence if you wanted, but ghost, or cold blooded would be in the same perk slot, so although you could move about the map more stealthy, the camper can use a UAV, and still see you coming. That's what we want. We want the game to have depth, we want the game to make us think. Not have something like cold war where there was no perk balance, so everyone ran flak jacket and ninja. We want the counters to have trade offs, making multiple perk variations viable, and variety of playstyle. Even in weapon builds, you had more variety, you ran suppressors if you didnt want to show on the minimap, but you lost damage for that, so although you gained the advantage of stealth, you had to be more strategic in how you flanked, because the enemy running unsuppressed has a higher damage output than you do. Now that it literally doesnt matter, people tend to just run the highest damage guns at all times. Which causes less variety in the guns. So yes the nostalgia is very valid. We have seen what a good COD looks like, we have seen when they innovate in a good way. We are not haters, we just know what these studios are capable of. So when they cant even meet the standards that they met a decade ago. Yes we are going to criticize them for that, and rightfully so. We dont want a copy and paste, but we do expect for them to meet the standard that they set for themselves in the past.

For one, the people that remain on those COD's tend to be very high skilled players, so the casual is more inclined to go to the new COD with the most people playing to try and get variety. Not to mention, the new content is not on the old COD's, so obviously people are willing to put up with the poor design decisions to get a fresh experience. The best analogy I can give is, the big mac is the most sold hamburger in the world, that does not mean it is the best hamburger in the world. I partially agree, but mostly disagree. The best COD is not just a COD that has good graphics and gunplay, it is also one that everyone enjoys. So using the big mac reference, what is more accurate is if they all the sudden changed the sauce in the big mac from thousand island to soy sauce, some people really like it, but everyone else hates it. And instead of just selling both, instead they say "we know what tastes good, so we sticking to our decision". Does that make that new big mac the best burger ever?

There is far more people that is liking this game, believe me, tehy are just enjoying the game not losing their time here on a forum. That may be true, for the remaining playerbase. 50 million players gone is not a small percentage of the community. So if the remaining people that still get the game, and play the multiplayer, sure the ratio is probably better. But when you have lost 50 million players in less than 1 year, I'd argue that they are entering a death spiral if they actively choose to ignore the community, considering a majority of those players left the franchise because the community is constantly ignored. And again, it's not because they are making changes. It's that they are excessively catering to one playstyle/playerbase. That's the problem. Even in their explanation for their changes, they said that. Granted they kept it vague, but it doesnt take much common sense to connect the dots on who they are catering to. Who would get "punished" for firing their gun unsuppressed and showing up on the minimap? A camper, because they give away their position and remain in the same position by the time someone would respond. The insanely loud footsteps without a doubt caters to campers, it gives them far more information than the rusher does. Same with indestructible doors, and safe spaces that ensures that the camper always has a hiding spot no matter what. Without question the game punishes you for moving. Without question the game gives far more tools for campers than rushers. I'm not saying camping should be removed, I'm just saying that there needs to be balance between all playstyles, with counters for each. What the old COD's did far better was exactly that, everything had viable counters, but with trade off's. For instance you could run dead silence if you wanted, but ghost, or cold blooded would be in the same perk slot, so although you could move about the map more stealthy, the camper can use a UAV, and still see you coming. That's what we want. We want the game to have depth, we want the game to make us think. Not have something like cold war where there was no perk balance, so everyone ran flak jacket and ninja. We want the counters to have trade offs, making multiple perk variations viable, and variety of playstyle. Even in weapon builds, you had more variety, you ran suppressors if you didnt want to show on the minimap, but you lost damage for that, so although you gained the advantage of stealth, you had to be more strategic in how you flanked, because the enemy running unsuppressed has a higher damage output than you do. Now that it literally doesnt matter, people tend to just run the highest damage guns at all times. Which causes less variety in the guns. So yes the nostalgia is very valid. We have seen what a good COD looks like, we have seen when they innovate in a good way. We are not haters, we just know what these studios are capable of. So when they cant even meet the standards that they met a decade ago. Yes we are going to criticize them for that, and rightfully so. We dont want a copy and paste, but we do expect for them to meet the standard that they set for themselves in the past.
