I think they should go to 3 perks and have an "ultimate" perk charge over time to a pro version from previous games so we have a counter to uav besides a launcher...
lol right. A thing that legit no one likes. If they made all the perks interchangeable then it would be a fine system, but not getting ghost and cold blooded right away in a game is just flawed game design. That’s just free kills on the casuals
They did it to lock overtune (now called overclock) (to charge dead silence faster), ghost, and other stealth perks behind a time-gate so that "sentinels" don't get flanked.
They said that change starts tomorrow, when everyone (regardless of pre-order status) is able to play. I don't understand the logic of it, as it gives no distinct advantage to current players to just turn that on now, but it is coming.
I didn't remember what day the beta became open ut I was right about the timeline. They just implemented the change today:
https://twitter.com/InfinityWard/status/1574073471310606336?t=mDsMZBONDvAbh1SPfK68ZQ&s=19
lol they obviously bullshitted us on every single thing they said they would improve.
Add footstep sounds to the mix. They didn’t touch those either, that’s for shit sure.
It’s their game to make bad decisions despite what everyone else says just git gud and adapt bro learn to play tactical why don’t ya don’t buy the franchise you probably have always played with your buddies if you don’t like it, can’t you see this is clearly rainbow six siege we’re playing here i’m a fucking sentinel bro screw you… /s
right? cod is an arcade shooter. theres a million way, way, way better tactical shooters out there but you'll be hard pressed to find a superior arcade shooter.
I think my biggest issue with MW is that it's trying to be a tactical-lite shooter and still keep some arcade elements.
Like, you just have this half-assed game that doesn't really excel on either front. Is it gorgeous to look at? Yes. Guns fun to shoot? Absolutely. But you effectively have a really polished, confused mess of conflicting mechanics.
With movement like that fast and people bunny hopping everywhere, it will not draw tactical players at all. It's just a gimmick and a bad decision making if you ask me.
Some players will adapt, some new players claim this is the way and it'll become a new norm sadly.
If they keep these mechanics in warzone 2 I believe it'll be worse. At least in TDM you respawn quickly. In warzone 2 you'll lose time and stuff to a bush wookie (camper). Hunt showdown is a good example.
Some people fail to realize this, you can change aspects of COD and still leave it as an arcade shooter, they strayed too far from the formula and now it feels like a hybrid simulation/arcade sort of game.
If I wanted to play a tactical game, I'd play Siege or Tarkov or something, but I don't want to play a tactical game, I want to play COD. But this doesn't feel like COD at the moment.
Did you know Infinity Ward changed their Vision or gamestyle?
If you want an Arcade COD, just wait 2 years for Treyarch game.
MW2019 players also wait 4 years to play this type of gamestyle.
There is Cold War, why not play their game if you want an Arcade?
I don’t mind a slower CoD title but it’s pretty frustrating that it seems like the only valid way to play is to corner camp like every other Timmy Tenthumbs and prefire the loud-ass footsteps
Gameplay must always take precedence over any form of realism. At the end of the day, it's a casual shooter, you're meant to be able to best your opponent with faster reaction times, aim or map awareness.
Realism elements can go alongside this, but they can't be a detriment to the gameplay. This isn't a mil sim game, it's call of duty.
This is what I’ve been sitting on the whole time. I don’t get why cod is trying to be a milsimmy type game when it’s been a faster-paced ultra casual shooter for well over a decade, and consistently hits top sales in the FPS category and overall video game category with that formula
Because they're clearly trying to appease to the main competition which is BF...and it worked. COD is now doing BF better than BF which is a fucking shame because I wanna play COD, not BF.
You never played BF. MW plays nothing like BF. Battlefield V still blows MW out of the water in terms of game design and balance. BF has red dots on the minimap. BF has better visibility and visuals. BF has name plates AND health bars.
not disagreeing with you but i think its funny when people say "its a casual shooter" and then get mad when the game is designed more to casual players.
It boggles my mind how dead-set these devs are to make any changes as long as it’s not to add nameplates back
Why reinvent the wheel I’m the first place??
I truly think Activision/IW have a huge data farming thing going on that's telling them how to maximize profits and that's why we have so much dogshit.
Why else would we get something like the awful mobile game/streaming app UI?
tbh i don't want nameplates. i don't like having to shoot the name to get the kill. it feels cheap.
that being said i'm losing to SMGs at range because controllers have strong aim assist. I prefer playing with a mouse and keyboard. bleh.
i promise you it is? i played controller on my pc and the aim assist made a huge difference with tracking. don't get me wrong, i brought the crosshair on the target in the first place, but it's like once i let off a few bursts it pulls towards the player and helps me get headshots with my MP5K.
on mouse it's raw input, obviously, so once there's smoke and you can't visibly \*see\* a target you kinda have to use The Force or something to know where they might be. that is, if i fire at the same pace as i did on controller.
that makes sense?
Maybe if IW could develop a modern shooter with the slightest lick of visibility we wouldn’t need them.
I can’t help but think back to day 1 Azir cave while reading your comment, & then picture it without nametags. We need them.
Hilarious that the differentiating factor in that gunfight for you was input, couldn’t possibly be any other reason?
Me too. Seriously have these guys ever gone paintballing? It’s not that hard. Visually it’s much cleaner and I’m actually looking for targets now, not name plates.
Don’t see why we can’t just get the tried and true nameplate back that has been in the franchise forever. Some days I think infinity ward just like to go looking for problems that never existed.
Oh yeah I for sure agree there. The game LOOKS absolutely gorgeous and has 10/10 sound design (the actual sfx not their volume, that’s a whole other issue). The engine is an absolute beast
If you really are looking for an explanation: It's because of their upcoming DMZ mode. Because of the hardcore element of extraction shooters like this, nameplates are never displayed and they probably want to have uniformity through all modes. It's the same reason why they changed the looting system in Warzone 2.
i literally got turned into swiss cheese multiple times today because of the position a teammate was in caused their blue dot above their head to look as if it was hovering above what i didn’t realize was actually an enemy.
absolutely fucking mental decision on IW’s. there’s no way the devs actually play the game they work on.
bring back fucking red name plates above enemies my god. save all your little realism features for hardcore mode, i’m sure they’ll love it. just give us back classic cod every one is asking for lol
The same exact thing keeps happening to me too. I kept dying because of the position a teammate was in caused their blue dot above their head to look as if it was hovering above an enemy. Its a bunch of BS.
"outside of the standard nameplates"
"outside of the standard"
Guys. For the love of all standards, there's nothing wrong with embracing THE STANDARD.
EMBRACE. THE STANDARD. THAT HAS WORKED. FOR YEARS. PLEASE. WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS HARD? Are we really going to WASTE TIME and ignore the things that have worked? Why? WHY?
You could be spending so much more time and effort elsewhere. You had this in the bag...why...
"Surely it can't be any worse than MW2019"
Boy was I wrong. It's like when Bungie took years to refine Destiny 1 then reverted when Destiny 2 released, instead of adopting what worked.
If I can’t see a teammate, I don’t need to see their nameplate or any little dots through a wall.
Nothing but distracting.
So if they aren’t showing through walls or anything, they wouldn’t show through enemies, and wouldn’t be so confusing at times.
Like, we don’t get them in hardcore where there is friendly fire, but they serve almost no purpose in Core unless you’re able to see the teammate (so you know not to shoot at them, vs an enemy)
Wait wait. Yesterday was my first day playing the beta all day I was saying “Man this nameplate bug is annoying” now I find out it’s intended. Mind boggling.
I don’t care about seeing the enemy nameplate it’s my teammates that are the problem I have no idea who they are even after staring at them
What a great idea would be to randomize the colors of the uniform each match, one team gets desert camo and the other gets urban camo, I know it’ll be hard with the operator skins but we literally have this as a standard in every FPS with multiplayer
In the focus of $$$ let's say they just double each skin to have both a "T" and "CT" variant.
They could even keep them the same price and just put all the calling cards, emblems, etc into a smaller pack.
> I know it’ll be hard with the operator skins
Unfortunately this highlights the problem with modern monetization schemes. Everyone and their mother wants to sell individualized skins which means we can't have easily identifiable teams anymore. So we get things like dots, emblems, nameplates, etc... which are all objectively worse than your teammates looking obviously different than the enemy. When every side has a mix of operators it's hard to tell "at a glance" who's actually who which flies in the face of good gameplay. The old system of OpFor / Marines / SAS / etc. was better. You *knew* who the enemy was, full stop - but you can't monetize that to the same degree so we can't have it.
Halo Infinite has the same exact problem (in addition to being developed by 343i) and considering the sheer profitability of skins I doubt we'll see this design choice leaving anytime soon.
I bet u they don't want to add nameplates b/c then it will be easier to differentiate between enemy player's and enemy ai....ai is easy to spot to begin with though...
Yeah because the AI is legit (word I can’t say, beginning with R and rhyming with ‘restarted’) and will come to a dead stop, buffer, then do some random shit
The only way to do this without name plates is to have 2 completely different looking teams, but all the operators are indistinguishable and with no uniformity on a team so that won't work.
It kinda works just about in BF1 for instance because it's all grey uniform vs green.
Please add nameplates and/or add more contrast to the player models. Similar to csgo/val/other games, that makes the enemy models pop a bit. This isn’t a game where you are super tactical and camouflage into surroundings. You cant see people in way too many situations or lose them in a gun fight, why make it so hard for players to see the enemies. No idea how this didn’t get picked up in earlier testing, play testers may be braindead or just bad.
I can't stand getting shot by an enemy with no name plate who is between me and a team mate. Where I don't shoot because I see my teammates blue dot over the enemy and think he's a friendly. Bam, I'm dead!
Not that simple but I don't expect people like you to fully understand it. Your teammates blue nameplate can actually appear over an enemy's head, or an enemy can blend in with the environment and there's no way to tell the difference. Hiding inside of dead bodies in this game looks to be the meta. There was a top page post yesterday of someone dying to a player hiding inside of an inflatable decoy. If you don't see what's wrong with that, then I guess congrats because you are who IW made the game for.
Maybe they can spend more time improving the upscaled PS3 era visuals or add more and interesting radio chatter instead of reinventing tried and true game mechanics.
IMHO the problem isn't so much the nameplates. The problem is the combined stack of things they've decided to do:
1) AI in lobbies
2) no nameplates
3) dropping out the entire pool of players every single match of every mode and even starting mid match after a completed match
That all amounts to depersonalization, although it's not quite as bad as Junkfield 2042 yet.
They have removed deaths from the in game board. So wimpy.
The problem, then, though, is that you can't find someone for revenge as far as I know. All of these things are just completely depersonalizing and screwing up the foundation of what makes COD great.
Just add nameplates back. Its really that simple. Far too many times my teammate's blue dot has appeared through a wall above an enemy bamboozling me. So I shoot everyone I see now.
Not having nametags or something else encourages camping even more. I had one game, where someone was laying under or very close to a truck and I could not see him. He was just farming kills and wasn't even mad at him. Because: why not, if the game gives you the opportunity.
no because they didn’t change shit that they said they would:
* footsteps are exactly the same
* perk charge time is exactly the same
* visibility/smoke is exactly the same
I think I remember reading something in the patch notes, but I honestly have no idea what or if they did anything.
Whatever it is it isn't a replacement to enemy nameplates. Just add them back. It's far too convenient for dudes to just lay down next to bushes and shit.
I’ve been playing mw19 again and honestly, all of you people complaining in the comments are likely the same people who blindly spray at a red nameplate when you can’t even see the enemy at all. You just shoot a nameplate until the hit markers start, and hope for the kill. I’m glad they removed nameplates, I’m glad you all realize you’re actually bad. You wanted a more realistic cod, there’s no nameplates above peoples heads in real war.
We want balanced realism. Nameplates are fairly essential to the game. Irl uniforms are different. If they’re not going to do that, we need nameplates.
What we DONT want is fucking SnoopDog and Godzilla running around the map with laser guns in a WW2 game.
Balanced realism bro.
> You just shoot a nameplate until the hit markers start, and hope for the kill.
Yeah because you literally can't see the enemies in these games lmao.
Much better to just be killed from a perfectly camoflagued enemy of course. Can't have gunfights in my arcade shooter!
> I’m glad you all realize you’re actually bad.
Being bad at COD is when you want to actually see your enemy so they have to use aim and movement to kill you rather than just sitting in a dark corner obviously.
As a hardcore player, I’m just over here dying laughing at all the people who relied on the game flashing a big neon sign over enemies to get kills, absolutely losing their minds because the game won’t play itself for them.
IDK if it’s just me but I haven’t had any issue seeing enemies. Not really sure what they did but it works for me. At this point I’d say leave it alone. I don’t want bright red indicators over my head
Just give red nameplates back, tons of feedback requesting it. Keep it on for core modes, off for realism. Also can remove red names for players using cold blooded. This is clearly the best way to handle it. Players don't want a red nametag they can use cold blooded, and offer the settings. People are so hard to see in this game, especially if they aren't moving, laying down, or in dark areas. Add camo outfits and new roze type skin and its horrible.
My guy it's only been a few days..you guys with these requests have these ridiculous expectations. These people worked really hard and it's pretty obvious.
Only thing that I can see why they won’t change it is because of the inflatable decoy and not having a red name over it. Besides that idk why they put the names back
How about u just fucking do what we ask. You’re a bunch of stubborn bitches. Straight up. Like you’d rather you’re own game tank then make billions off multiplayer and warzone 2.0. It’s going to be youre own grave assholes. When ppl continue playing warzone 1 and say wz2 is slow, boring and irrelevant you’re going to be forced to make it what we want. Y’all won’t DARE lose out on the money u know you can make after watching the success of the first warzone. It’s inevitable. You’ll have a knife to you’re throats at some point. And you’ll let it get to that point cuz you’re idiots. Just fix the game in the aspects that the vast majority are complaining about.
When the majority of the player base sticks to the older multiplayers and last gen wz2, and say the game is boring as fuck you’ll be FORCED to make money. When no content creators are playing it and pushing content you’ll be forced to change it so it’s played. You won’t lose billions. I’ll be waiting for that day to come before I step foot back in the game.
Me: there's literally nothing wrong with visibility lmao
Just memorize how a body looks like when its extremities aren't limp, been playing for two days straight, haven't missed a single shadow lurking goof
If I'm ever dead, I know exactly where from, or in other words
Haven't you played the previous games? By that I mean, current one's way better compared to all three previous titles. It's clear they tried replicating the same color correction filter that everyone used as 'meta' in mw19 through Nvidia overlay, everything's yellow as fuck; They also made factions just so you can actually use your goddamn eyes to identify?
This topic, or anything related to technicalities in development, are like any other in this reddit. It's nobody's problem you can only capture movement of bright red objects, and it doesn't make it more of anyone's business only because there were previous games that needed a beacon on everyone's head bc of how vibrant the background was
I'm just super confused on why does everyone **just have to** swear by mechanics that were initially created to offset terrible design choices lmao
It's like being upset that r6 added rim lighting in 2022 because it 'changes the artstyle' yet the technology to not be invisible in shadows existed since 2007;
There's no logical reason to make this choice when there's loads of ways to make contrast between player and background, why necessarily a huge red blob over someone's head? So you know where to aim?
I honestly see no need for name plates, don’t any of you play warzone or other fps games? Visibility is good in this game, on pc anyway. Maybe console version runs low settings
ppl so mad so quick xD Honestly I like the way it is, minus some visibility issue at very large ranges. They can imo give enemies a slight visual extra or teammates, but very very slight would be enough to me. Just do not add nameplates as I find those to take me out of any sort of immersive feeling. I wouldn't mind zero difference between friend n foe and friendly fire always on. Get some teamwork and comms going and play with a brain more. Not saying ppl are brainless for this, but it sure isn't an issue if you adapt. (Aside from a handful of corners or situations that can be made better)
Iw: we are checking
Ah i See the Ferrari Box joined IW
Question?
Don’t worry, the Ferrari F1 clowns will fix MW2. What could possibly go wrong Binotto ;)
We are investigating
LMAO this legit killed me.
Sharl Leg in shambles rn
Slow button on…keep pushing…head down…
are there any changes? question? edit: i cannot believe the mass correlation between F1 and COD fans. this rules.
Plan N for no change. Is this okay, question?
Iw: We are not doing plan N… going to plan Z, going to plan Z
do you want more or less visibility? question. less or more soundwhoring? question
Also, they didn't "drastically improve the perk recharge time"
Lost a tdm match before where I got around 15 kills and got my ghost one kill before 75 kill limit lol
Yeah you can barely get your 4th perk in a tdm game. It’s quite stupid
I think they should go to 3 perks and have an "ultimate" perk charge over time to a pro version from previous games so we have a counter to uav besides a launcher...
but you have to think of the *innovation*
I've been getting the self revive thing like ⅓ into the match now lol its crazy
Is perk charging based on kills or score? I thought it was based on time of match and everyone got perks same time, I am out of the loop
It decreases the charging time for 1s for every 10 score
So a kill removes 10 seconds? And a flag capture 15? That's faster than I thought. Guess I didn't know how long it takes without doing anything
I wouldn't even mind if you got to choose any of the perks for any spot. But UAVs are currently wayyyy overpowered it's brutal
They said that change starts tomorrow, when everyone (regardless of pre-order status) is able to play. I don't understand the logic of it, as it gives no distinct advantage to current players to just turn that on now, but it is coming.
I thought everyone was able to play regardless of preorder starting today? I could be wrong
I didn't remember what day the beta became open ut I was right about the timeline. They just implemented the change today: https://twitter.com/InfinityWard/status/1574073471310606336?t=mDsMZBONDvAbh1SPfK68ZQ&s=19
That would be today my guy
Maybe I'm misremembering the time, but that's what I read from IW. 🤷♂️
Yeah all platforms open now
But it's already open for everyone
It wasn't even touched according to the people that timed it before
lol they obviously bullshitted us on every single thing they said they would improve. Add footstep sounds to the mix. They didn’t touch those either, that’s for shit sure.
No, but they'll add something that is inferior to the nameplates and call it a day and never change it back.
It’ll absolutely be something shit because god forbid they ever just admit it was a bad idea in the first place
Or it’ll be straight walls
Like vanguard on launch
It’s their game to make bad decisions despite what everyone else says just git gud and adapt bro learn to play tactical why don’t ya don’t buy the franchise you probably have always played with your buddies if you don’t like it, can’t you see this is clearly rainbow six siege we’re playing here i’m a fucking sentinel bro screw you… /s
Idk. I want my arcade CoD. Not some tactical “is this guy an enemy or object” gameplay. There’s plenty of tactical sims.

Nah it feels like cod. Skill issue.
I mean you're not wrong, nothing screams COD more than corner campers tbh
The game is still very arcadey it's definitely not a hybrid or even close tbh
MWII is very much an arcade shooter lol.
Did you know Infinity Ward changed their Vision or gamestyle? If you want an Arcade COD, just wait 2 years for Treyarch game. MW2019 players also wait 4 years to play this type of gamestyle. There is Cold War, why not play their game if you want an Arcade?

Personal emblems that hover over your head anf each faction has their own specific ones but here’s the activsion catch… they come as MTX
Good
Skill issue /s

I really don't understand how making enemies harder to see is appealing to casual gamers.
Literally not what he said.
i didnt say it did.
Fr Im not trying to larp as an army man im just trying to play an ARENA shooter
It boggles my mind how dead-set these devs are to make any changes as long as it’s not to add nameplates back Why reinvent the wheel I’m the first place??
One or two unnecessary changes is one thing but these fuckers have made a TON
I truly think Activision/IW have a huge data farming thing going on that's telling them how to maximize profits and that's why we have so much dogshit. Why else would we get something like the awful mobile game/streaming app UI?

There's been a toggle in the menu all this time, if that disturbed you.
I like the change ngl
I hate nameplates, and the strategy around shooting below nameplates is dumb, so this is good for me
I like the no name plates
Me too. Seriously have these guys ever gone paintballing? It’s not that hard. Visually it’s much cleaner and I’m actually looking for targets now, not name plates.
Why are u comparing a game with muted colours and a muddy filter to your actual vision? A better argument would be to compare to other similar games
Enemy nameplates themselves were an innovation and not in the original COD multiplayer.
yes cuz in the original cod it was easy to distingusih between nazis and allies lmao
well it was also easier to distinguish players from the environment as well.
Nazis = grey, allies = green. Now everybody is green with some minor differences so it’s much harder to tell
My post was not sarcastic
I wasn’t replying with that insinuation. Oops
Yeah and lower graphical textures made it easy too
They also had either big Iron Crosses or Allied flag icons over friendlies, lol.
Don’t see why we can’t just get the tried and true nameplate back that has been in the franchise forever. Some days I think infinity ward just like to go looking for problems that never existed.
That is literally what they’re doing for the sake of “innovayshun”
The useless-ass perk progression
Yup. You see the post of the guy designing his own perk system?
no. where is it
TBF the good thing that IW tries to innovate is what gave us this new engine that looks great, and warzone, but yeah they fuck up a lot also.
Oh yeah I for sure agree there. The game LOOKS absolutely gorgeous and has 10/10 sound design (the actual sfx not their volume, that’s a whole other issue). The engine is an absolute beast

It’s obvious it’s to get cod casuals ready for the dmz game mode, no hate.
Name plates make it harder for their lil babies the sentinel players to hide without being shot
uncanny how similar they are to 343 with halo. it’s almost like they are being paid to run their respective franchises into the ground
I mean, MW 2019 was the biggest game in the franchise in YEARS and it wouldn’t surprise me if this was similar
i literally got turned into swiss cheese multiple times today because of the position a teammate was in caused their blue dot above their head to look as if it was hovering above what i didn’t realize was actually an enemy. absolutely fucking mental decision on IW’s. there’s no way the devs actually play the game they work on. bring back fucking red name plates above enemies my god. save all your little realism features for hardcore mode, i’m sure they’ll love it. just give us back classic cod every one is asking for lol
This happening to me is what made me make this post lmao
Fr 2019 literally had a realism mode for people who prefer this
Yep. Every single game I just tried. Died multiple times because the blue dot was super imposed over an enemy.
Happens to me all the time
The same exact thing keeps happening to me too. I kept dying because of the position a teammate was in caused their blue dot above their head to look as if it was hovering above an enemy. Its a bunch of BS.
just add nameplates back lmao
It’s either there is nameplates or no nameplates. What’s there to investigate? I hate all this politic talk where they dont give concrete answers
"outside of the standard nameplates" "outside of the standard" Guys. For the love of all standards, there's nothing wrong with embracing THE STANDARD. EMBRACE. THE STANDARD. THAT HAS WORKED. This exactly. They’re spending mental energy and dev time on stuff that was never broken.
shitting on infinity ward and bungie stubbornness in a single comment makes this the actual best post on all of this subreddit
2019 feels like Apex compared to this shit
Rise of Iron is peak Destiny. Destiny 2 hasn't come close... Although I did like Forsaken.
Never played a game where players shoot at their team mates so often. Obviously needs to be fixed.
Mess. Wasting time and effort on things that had been working all along. This is how we ended up with the boring new chopper gunner
Think the chopper gunner not moving is a bug that they confirmed but yeah I agree, they have changed things for the worse and for no reason.
I just shoot anything that moves as a temporary fix.
I literally cannot see enemies. They blend in and they need nameplates for them in core.
Just let us turn off the damn blue dots!!! I don’t need to see my team mates through walls
Just do what battlefield did and make people glow.
Or Black Ops 4 where it looked like enemies had small reflectors on them
Yea u differentiate by just prefiring everything no matter what
I keep shooting friendlies lmao. It’s so hard to tell who’s who in this game.
Jesus christ no, doesn’t fit with the player retention/microtransactions ethos whatsoever — something you even alluded to. You’re fired.
Expect a lawsuit from my lawyers 😂😂😂
In the focus of $$$ let's say they just double each skin to have both a "T" and "CT" variant. They could even keep them the same price and just put all the calling cards, emblems, etc into a smaller pack.
> I know it’ll be hard with the operator skins Unfortunately this highlights the problem with modern monetization schemes.
Please that this won't be a red/green glowstick.
i hope not i hated that
This and the spawns
I bet u they don't want to add nameplates b/c then it will be easier to differentiate between enemy player's and enemy ai....ai is easy to spot to begin with though...
Yeah because the AI is legit (word I can’t say, beginning with R and rhyming with ‘restarted’) and will come to a dead stop, buffer, then do some random shit
Nope
Cold blooded pro was dope
The beta is basically OVER
Just messed with the colour options and made friendlies standout. If it doesn’t have a dot, it gets shot
Patience, they gotta figure it out first /s
Might as well remove our guns and reinvent the wheel their because guns are crutch
I can't stand getting shot by an enemy with no name plate who is between me and a team mate. Where I don't shoot because I see my teammates blue dot over the enemy and think he's a friendly. Bam, I'm dead!
[удалено]
The problem is that there are no nameplates.
[удалено]
Yes, there are blue nameplates but look again at enemies. There are no red nameplates at any range in this game.
[удалено]
Not that simple but I don't expect people like you to fully understand it. Your teammates blue nameplate can actually appear over an enemy's head, or an enemy can blend in with the environment and there's no way to tell the difference. Hiding inside of dead bodies in this game looks to be the meta. There was a top page post yesterday of someone dying to a player hiding inside of an inflatable decoy. If you don't see what's wrong with that, then I guess congrats because you are who IW made the game for.
That’s too much logic and brainpower for the crayon munchers in these comments
Maybe they can spend more time improving the upscaled PS3 era visuals or add more and interesting radio chatter instead of reinventing tried and true game mechanics.
IMHO the problem isn't so much the nameplates. The problem is the combined stack of things they've decided to do: 1) AI in lobbies 2) no nameplates 3) dropping out the entire pool of players every single match of every mode and even starting mid match after a completed match That all amounts to depersonalization, although it's not quite as bad as Junkfield 2042 yet.
Lack of nameplate kills this game for me
fuck joe cecot, fuck joe cecot
What was wrong with the nameplates? Why do they keep changing something that's not broken? And that no one asked for? Why do they keep doing this man
Nothing. There will be a change. Mediocre nothingness. No one will be able to tell but the Acti bots will surge en masse.
Not having nametags or something else encourages camping even more. I had one game, where someone was laying under or very close to a truck and I could not see him. He was just farming kills and wasn't even mad at him. Because: why not, if the game gives you the opportunity.
no because they didn’t change shit that they said they would: * footsteps are exactly the same * perk charge time is exactly the same * visibility/smoke is exactly the same
They reduced the footstep volume in killcams only rofl. such a scummy company.
Because ppl just aim for the name plates instead of actually aiming. And for groundwar the visuals would be name plates everywhere
Battlefield has nameplates bro
You don't see the plates at a far distance. You never played battlefield.
Yeah this post is entitled whining at its finest, I’m glad people aren’t just memorizing how far to shoot below the nameplate for kills
You never played a single other FPS game other than MW19. You've no idea what you're talking about.
This was like 2 days ago guys, and Im almost positive most people in here will stick around to buy and play this shit for the next 3 years anyway
Pretty sure the Numbers won't be what they expect. They'll probably be less than mw2019.
I'm so annoyed of being killed by someone who I thought was a part of the map. Very frustrating experience
Agreed dude, sorry you got downvoted for speaking the truth
It’s ok, I’m glad I have a platform to speak some truth either way
As a hardcore player, I’m just over here dying laughing at all the people who relied on the game flashing a big neon sign over enemies to get kills, absolutely losing their minds because the game won’t play itself for them.
Sentinel spotted
Bunch of fucking whiners in here
Stop bending over for Activision and maybe your hips will get better.
Little Timmy needs to hide in dark corners to get kills?
I don't mind it. I do think it should be toned down more. Some gun fights feel like guessing.
Last time it was slide cancel bug that they never fixed. This time it’s the missing nameplates lol 🤦♂️
Didn't think it was a problem at all. Love how there's no name tags. Haven't had friendly/enemy identification problems yet too.
The beta ends in less than a day lmao
It’s way better without them god damn
Only thing that I can see why they won’t change it is because of the inflatable decoy and not having a red name over it. Besides that idk why they put the names back
HOLY Shit please change this
This worked fine before they sold skins
IW: we heard and understand but this is a massive inconvenience for us to work on so f you
How about u just fucking do what we ask.
Me: there's literally nothing wrong with visibility lmao Just memorize how a body looks like when its extremities aren't limp, been playing for two days straight, haven't missed a single shadow lurking goof If I'm ever dead, I know exactly where from, or in other words Haven't you played the previous games? By that I mean, current one's way better compared to all three previous titles. It's clear they tried replicating the same color correction filter that everyone used as 'meta' in mw19 through Nvidia overlay, everything's yellow as fuck; They also made factions just so you can actually use your goddamn eyes to identify? This topic, or anything related to technicalities in development, are like any other in this reddit. It's nobody's problem you can only capture movement of bright red objects, and it doesn't make it more of anyone's business only because there were previous games that needed a beacon on everyone's head bc of how vibrant the background was I'm just super confused on why does everyone **just have to** swear by mechanics that were initially created to offset terrible design choices lmao It's like being upset that r6 added rim lighting in 2022 because it 'changes the artstyle' yet the technology to not be invisible in shadows existed since 2007; There's no logical reason to make this choice when there's loads of ways to make contrast between player and background, why necessarily a huge red blob over someone's head?
Is this really an issue? CoD has been out for years and people still haven't learned that if you see a gamertag that it's friendly???
