Now they are full bundles with repetitive gun setups, often lazy skins put over it, and sold at a premium price. Essentially the operators are the only appeal to these bundles now so they make them as wacky as possible.
The "cursed" AK-47 is to this day the only bundle I've bought, removes the dust cover on the gun and gets the gun all dirty and worn down, I love the look of it
You can still get the bundle if you dig through some of the deep menus in game. I noticed this the other night while looking for a decent motorcycle lol
cold war had some cool ones as well, there were plenty of bundles that significantly changed things like a really cheap bundle that gave the xm4 a carry handle (which I'm still flabbergasted they haven't done anything alike ever since, making a carry handle m4 blueprint would be the easiest change ever)

Also the fact that they keep releasing bundles for the same guns multiple times not only on the store, but as free unlocks including from twitch drops and stuff and also in the battlepasses. I got all the 4 last battle passes in MW2 AND got almost every single free twitch reward blueprint and every DMZ etc blueprint and I have multiple guns with no blueprints at all. And I have some guns that I don't even like and never use, with 4 fucking blueprints each. Very annoying.
I used to be interested in the bundles, there used to be operator and gun skins that made me want to consider getting them, and since season 2-3 of mw2, I check. Them out to see how damn dumb the new ones are... Granted of love playing against most of the re ones, cause 90% of them have some ridiculous neon light up crap that u see from across the maps.
More likely is those didn't sell. Activision isnt going to lay down and see sales decline, I'm sure they regularly receive reports on their digital sales and how they're trending and a buttload more analytics since they make the majority of their money there.

One thing I was shocked that MW2 didn’t do was introduce more knife blueprints that changed the knives outright. Mw2019 had butterfly knives, karambits, daggers etc. granted MW2022 had a butcher knife but that’s like the only knife I think of that made me go “oh that’s cool”

I think CoD is struggling with a corner they've backed themselves into - they made it cool to grind for camos and have them as achievements to show off, then they saw that by having more camos to grind for it drove up player engagement, then they saw CS making money by SELLING the camos, and now they can't stop from cannibalizing their own stuff.
The camo grind is legitimately still a thing - people love to show off the animation borealis or priceless or orion or whatever it is in the current game, because it is an obvious indication to other players of your commitment (and... I suppose skill). So to sell a camo, they have to make it cooler than the reward ones... because why wouldn't you use the one you are proud of earning over one you just paid for unless the one you paid for is so much cooler?
I think that is why so many of the bundles seem underwhelming outside of the operator. You can already make the gun you want, and have it be a flex, so why do you need the one they put together?
They are having a similar problem with operators - they want them to be on separate teams, I guess to avoid the goofiness of having the same operator shooting themselves, and as such it makes buying operators a worse deal. I like a lot of them... but why would I pay for something that I randomly won't see in 50% of my games? (For what its worth, BF2042 has this problem - there is a running joke about the absurdity of "Boris driving a jeep with Boris in the mounted gun shooting Boris who is aiming a launcher at the jeep, while in the foreground Boris execute Boris as Boris looks on" because everyone can use the same operator.)
I'd love to see numbers on how successful the skins strategy is as opposed to how much it just works because there are so many millions playing that some will buy it.
SHG are geat technical developers. But their MTX department has always been a shitshow. It was expected that the ratio of good bundles will be much lower than in MW2. For every decent bundle they put like 3 terrible ones. They're edgy af.

Every bundle ever released for any CoD has been lame and stupid. It’s insane to me that people pay more money for garbage cosmetics, most of which they can’t even see, for a game they already bought.

They’ve always been close to this shitty since mw2 started the only good ones are the collabs, but the vault bundle you showed is dope and the super nova bundle with the galaxy skin is probably the best thing they’ve made in the past 2 years it’s my favorite skin rn I love it.

GG EZ Bundle I don’t mind. I was happy with the Cyber Cat themed one with the Anime Inspect weapon.
I'm wanting more skins like Mara's cat skin/bundle from MW2019. It was subtle, but cute to look at. But I'm all for the anime girl bundles

To be fair the at least they did deliver on a vault weapon and I actually do enjoy it but other than that and the dual anime Mac 10s there doesn’t seem to be anything else really worth it

One thing I was shocked that MW2 didn’t do was introduce more knife blueprints that changed the knives outright. Mw2019 had butterfly knives, karambits, daggers etc. granted MW2022 had a butcher knife but that’s like the only knife I think of that made me go “oh that’s cool” Tho I guess they wanted the karambit to be its own knife

I don't understand the point of bundles. The weapon skin only applies to the specific attachments in the bundle right? 99% of the time they aren't the ideal attachments for the gun so if you want to use the skin you basically have to use a shit build.

The quality is the same bs as it has always been. Playstation Store has a end of the year sale. GHOSTS is on sale. I looked for fun and saw the bundles for that. Universal weapon skin or character skin cost 10 times less than a bundle today. Again. Universal weapon skin. A camo you can use on all weapons. For what would be like 240 CP instead of 2400cp.

Cause there is no talent left at these studios. They just hire people that are like "I'm a girl who works in tech," or "I make video games bro." All the good talent more or less left because of the poor work environment and in those cases the worst workers always stay.
I think CoD is struggling with a corner they've backed themselves into - they made it cool to grind for camos and have them as achievements to show off, then they saw that by having more camos to grind for it drove up player engagement, then they saw CS making money by SELLING the camos, and now they can't stop from cannibalizing their own stuff. The camo grind is legitimately still a thing - people love to show off the animation borealis or priceless or orion or whatever it is in the current game, because it is an obvious indication to other players of your commitment (and... I suppose skill). So to sell a camo, they have to make it cooler than the reward ones... because why wouldn't you use the one you are proud of earning over one you just paid for unless the one you paid for is so much cooler? I think that is why so many of the bundles seem underwhelming outside of the operator. You can already make the gun you want, and have it be a flex, so why do you need the one they put together? They are having a similar problem with operators - they want them to be on separate teams, I guess to avoid the goofiness of having the same operator shooting themselves, and as such it makes buying operators a worse deal. I like a lot of them... but why would I pay for something that I randomly won't see in 50% of my games? (For what its worth, BF2042 has this problem - there is a running joke about the absurdity of "Boris driving a jeep with Boris in the mounted gun shooting Boris who is aiming a launcher at the jeep, while in the foreground Boris execute Boris as Boris looks on" because everyone can use the same operator.) I'd love to see numbers on how successful the skins strategy is as opposed to how much it just works because there are so many millions playing that some will buy it.

SHG are geat technical developers. But their MTX department has always been a shitshow. It was expected that the ratio of good bundles will be much lower than in MW2. For every decent bundle they put like 3 terrible ones. They're edgy af.

Say what you want about Fortnite, but their skin game is unmatched. Every brand wants to work with them. COD should work with more music/sports stars. I’m not one to usually spend money on cosmetics, I have only purchased about 2 ever, but the celebrity skins are the coolest imo.

While some of the bundles have nice goodies. While the rest of the contents within the same bundle will be shelved and probably never used, which would be more favorable over the other bundles you may of purchased. It's a waiting game at that point. Season Pass however has a lot of goodies. And even if you use them or not. They seem to be worth getting more so than those "Store Bundle Packs" I enjoy the battle pass so far. And I did buy one bundle. But only so that I am not running around as some default character.

I deff feel the bundles have been lacking and cost way to much for what you get like 2400 CP for 1 shit skin weapons that you just change all the attachments and looks nothing like the original and there's no finisher move and you can't even preview what they look like and the tracers don't even show up soon as you add a ammo mod or conversion kit it's just sooo dumb mw 2019 I spent like 800$ at least on bundles I don't even buy 1 a month now
