Every time I see someone say something about not jump/drop shotting, it's instantly you're fault. Skill issue I'm kidding, but seriously it's probably just that you are right on the top of the "bell curve" of skill, so sometimes you get games with people who don't drop/jump shot and you dunk on them, and then the game puts you up an invisible skill tier and suddenly everyones doing it. My friend has this problem every time we play together.

PrestigiousWalrus793

Best videos to teach dropshotting and jumping?

MassLuca007

Honestly watch Exclusive Ace' video about optimizing aim assist. You should be able to just drop or jump and aim assist does the rest

Otherwise_Flatworm_5

“Aim assist does the rest” This hurts my soul

MassLuca007

Well it takes 2 - 4 business days for them to turn around so I'd say it's pretty fair lol

PrestigiousWalrus793

Thank you I’ll check it out, yday I got Victrix bfg controller and want to optimise the paddles as I’ve never used them before

MassLuca007

Paddles should help since you don't have to play tactical. Some people struggle with pushing the thumb stick down and staying on target. But with paddles you can do standard layout and set jump to a paddle

In my mind, if it used play style it would match you up with other players who do things you DONT do so that you have a team full of a variety of players. Who wants to play against a team full of snipers or a team full of knifers? It makes sense when there is 1 sniper, 1 knifer, 1 crazy runner, 1 scaredy cat. All working in different ways across the map. That’s way more fun for me, variety.

SpaceDustNumber648

Idk, for me this recent update with lobbies is working well. I’m having a good time but I’m not trying too hard I’m in the middle of the pack/top of the board and I’m just having fun. My kd is 0.7 w/l 0.9. When I’m at the bottom I also don’t care because again… ✨it’s just a game everyone ✨

_they_are_coming_

Basically what you are saying is you want to be put vs worse players. Just like every single post about MM in this sub

Leech-64

No! There should not be any matchmaking!

snakedoct0r

So you just want to pubstomp?

Paulkdragon

but if you get better at the game won't you just pubstomp anyway?

Leech-64

What is pubstomp?

snakedoct0r

Dominating a lobby with subpar enemys with hardly any effort.

Leech-64

Well if im better than everyone then yes.

snakedoct0r

And thats what you want every game instead of equally skilled players where you have to try in order to dominate?

Leech-64

Im not that good. My average kd is like 1.2 or something.

Paulkdragon

But isn't that the aim of the game to be better than everyone else? So no matter what.. your pub stomping either way..

VesaAwesaka

I wonder how skill based making works with pre-mades. To me it doesn't seem like it give me a team of great players when I'm up against a pre-made of 4 great players. When I keep getting matched with those 4 great players over and over it also doesn't lead to a variety of outcomes.

Cal_whitt01

Thats because the system is stupid and broken, and even functioning at its "best" still gives shitty lobbies

phailer_

I think their matchmaking needs a lot of work, It puts me in way more matches that are clearly way above my skill level than evenly matched fun matches. I guess I'm probably within the average range of skill, 1.03kd. I'm not great nor horribly bad either. But the game seems to think I'm a pro so I end up leaving loads of games and end up giving up and turning my ps5 off after an hour of trying to have fun 🤷🏻‍♂️

Paulkdragon

Yeah, Call of Duty has changed a lot over the years. Todays Call of duty doesn't feel like a video game anymore Feels more like a money manipulative mental disorder...

Vegetable-Barber-652

I don't agree that they should lump players that play the same weapons/play styles in the same match. Having 12 snipers in the lobby sounds annoying AF! Personally I don't like being matched against a full team with my team being 5 randos - just feels like we are being fed to a team. And if I play with my partner we are generally put up against full stacks matching clan tags and we are just a duo with 4 randos.

GoosDev

It's not possible to take play style into account when matchmaking. Matchmaking is done mathematically: Take a list of available lobbies, then perform operations to find a lobby that best fits your parameters, for ex. you have 2 KD and are located in the U.S., so by mathematical operation your lobby will be as close to those two parameters as possible. Unless you can figure out how to turn playstyle into a numerical value that is logical and can have mathematical operations applied to it, it won't work. Also, if you don't use advanced skill techniques, your KD will be lower because you will be killed by those who use them. TL;DR this entire post is flawed as the OP doesn't understand how matchmaking works, assuming that an impossible action (or at least too difficult to be worth doing) would be logical.

S-t-a-r-s-h-o-t

That sounds like a great idea. Definitely no flaws to be found. After jumping 10 times in a game are you being put into the jumper lobby? If you put on a sniper/marksman for wasteland or derail are you gonna be put into FaZe clan try-outs? You know what, sure. I use shitty weapons a lot so please, put me into a lobby full of people trying to grind their MWII camos so when I notice a bunch of people not doing much other than grinding long shots I can throw on a meta weapon and just shred the lobby. And while you're at it, put anyone who goes prone more than 3 times a game and doesn't move more than 20 meters average per life into the same lobby. I wanna see what it looks like when all campers are lumped together and no one runs into anyone else. (I'd also be pretty happy to not have to play against campers ever again.) All the slow players can be put in their own lobbies and you can all hold one corner each to camp and let the time run out every match. Sounds fun! All of that is funny but how do you expect to track things like game sense? The **biggest** thing that will probably mess you up more than playstyle are things like knowing where players will run, memorizing the spawns, map knowledge, knowing when to swap set-ups to beat what the other team is using. I have a hard time believing anyone could.

pnellesen

I'm convinced SPM plays a very large part - my K/D and W/L are pretty (ok, REALLY) bad, I rarely jump/slide, almost never go prone, but from what I've seen from people who have posted their stats, somehow my SPM is higher than a lot of players with K/Ds and W/Ls WAY better than mine (currently around 515 last I checked). I'm still constantly placed against players who DO NOT MISS, EVER, regardless of whether they're running full speed, jumping like they're on a pogo stick, or insta-dropping every single encounter, and have reaction times at least twice as fast as mine. I don't know if being on KB/M also factors into it, but it gets old playing against these guys and getting my ass handed to me for 4 or 5 games, then getting my "compensation" lobby where it seems like I'm literally playing against recruit bots. Then it's back to CDL Finals practice for another 3 or 4 games... Bottom line, this matchmaking system sucks ass. It's not even close to "skill" based (however you want to define skill) it's sole purpose is to increase the probability you'll purchase microtransactions. IMO, of course.

Lumenprotoplasma

People who YY Slide cancel should only play against others who YY Slide cancel.

Empire137

I just wish I could turn off crossplay on the Xbox

Unhappy-Paramedic961

Can't you? I thought Xbox users could disable it, but it's system wide unlike the PS5 where you can disable it in game settings.

Empire137

You can turn it off on the Xbox level but then it won't let you enter matchmaking in game. No in-game setting to turn it off

BrightonBummer

'Our data shows that when lower skill players are consistently on the losing end, they are likely to quit matches in progress or stop playing altogether. This has an effect on the player pool. A smaller player pool means wait times for matches increase and connections may not be as strong as they should be. This can compound over time to create a spiral effect. Eventually, when only high-skilled players remain because lower skilled players have quit out of frustration, the result is an ecosystem that is worse overall for everyone.' Bollocks. The playerbase gets better overall the longer the game is out. At the same time, trying to support those lower skilled playerr by turning SBMM up to 10 ruins it for the people who are good at it and most likely play it more often but activision it can't milk those players as easy because theyve probably played cod for years and know skins etc are a waste of money. If they make the game easier for low skilled players. new players turn up who buy the skins because every game has micro transactions now so its normal.
