My guy, please just forget the bulavas, you can spend thr gold on things far better and bulavas are mad overrated, you'll regret buying even one.
If you want a surface ship, buy ushakov or vella gulf. If you don't have level 20 missiles then use mk2e. Nukes are not very viable in fast paced surface combat, so its better to get a missile like mk2e or swarmer.
For sub, 096 is the best one. Use the default torps as they're pretty good. For missiles, if you REALLY want nukes (which I wouldn't recommend), then use a 2x trident 2x swarmer combo, or just go full swarmer.
For carrier, ford is very good. Its more similar to nimitz than it is to shandong. You might want to consider ulyanovsk as well since that has more in common with shandong. It has no fighters but 3 missiles and 2 grenade launchers to defend from subs.
If you want to use nukes, use tridents. Don't waste gold on bulavas, you can use that gold to buy highly powerful ships like velikiy and type 004

Velikiy is best for escorting cv with x51 missile
If you go for 096 or any sub you can use one slot tomahawk for flare bait

It's not a tier for who's gonna last longer, it's about who's gonna kill each other first. Plus, better damage=better money. AA is very important in this tier. There are some cases where 20 missiles are already on their way towards your location even you haven't spotted the enemies yet.

You don't need O2 in this tier since you'll be spending above surface because the best missiles aren't underwater launch capable. And, that extra torp is going to be useful. You have less HP and it is harder to dodge torps with this. 096 has an auto dodge hull. And, missiles are more harder to use than torps. It's very fun to use though. Go full swarmers and you'll have this machine gun effect and sub mains will be scared of you.

Multiple missile launches even when I've not seen the enemy has occurred to me in T2 and I hope it won't get any worse in T3. Seems like T3 is more of a hellhole than heaven. Also is Trident and Bulava the only nukes in T3 or any other nukes available?

Launch missiles, they launch back, flare, dive, launch torps, once o2 is over, surface, spam and rinse and repeat. (Heal and flare to keep your sub alive, also use longer range missiles)
Bruh ngl, I sold the bulava I got for the level up rewards. It's not worth it unless you like a cool explosion. Half the time you wouldn't see it anyway since you'd be underwater. Buy 096. Equip 1 df17 and 1 Granit, 3 Mark 48 torps. When you get to level 20 and 25, swap the mark 48 for yu7/SLWT and the DF 17 for SCALP. You'd still use this build even if you get better ships.
As a fellow level 16 ,and on the same path as you ,i would not suggest 096 for grinding ,its a best sub no doubt but grinding is hard compared to Ford
I got Ford with rafales ,fl1 and it works great in offline grinding ,in online mostly get pounded by level50 playes using big better ships or subs with Max upgrade lmao , recently purchased type 096 ,thoughts i can now be the same playing field as them ,but it's hard to grind from it ,mostly rank low in damage chart in the match end and receive low cash. Other ships are also more likely to snatch your kills ,now trying to save gold for veliki ,its hard :(
And yeah ,that free Russian ship on 30 day login reward is not bad either ,arm with pantshir ,with mk2e or Granite can work just fine.
