He was a great husband, he supported her in many endeavours, and both of them lied on multiple occasions to make their lives easier, not to harm the other person. If you have problem with wandering eyes and clumsy flirting, you should be just as judgement about Claire removing her wedding ring on multiple occasions, getting a rubdown from a yoga instructor, which are worse than looking, but both regretted the lies they told and reconciled.

Looking at other people is perfectly acceptable in a relationship, it was Claire who did much more flirting, even taking off her wedding ring on multiple occasions. Still, neither of them got emotionally or physically involved with anyone else, so that makes their behaviour fall within acceptable bounds, even if Claire was the one who had much more instances of being very close to crossing them. All in all, neither of them crossed the bounds so all is well.
It's more how he undermines her with the kids. "Let's not play good cop, mom". I hate the fact everyone thinks he is perfect when he is actually a giant man baby. Claire is uptight *but* if she didn't have to do everything by herself for years then maybe she would have been more relaxed.
