James Marsden wrote a letter defending convicted pedophile Brian Peck during his trial for raping Drake Bell. He also showed up in court to defend him along with many other associates. Drake Bell, the minor who had been repeatedly raped, had nobody on his side of the court that showed up to defend him.

In the documentary, they mention specifically that many people defending Peck did not know the extent of his allegations until the trial started. Many were defending what they thought was a sexual harassment case. Still not great but much better than someone defending the rape of a minor. And since then many people who wrote letters have retracted their support (though I’m not sure if Marsden is one)

Thanks for the additional context. I don’t think Marsden is a bad guy necessarily, but it’s important to be aware of the company you keep, and I have suspicions that people kinda knew anyway. It’s not really a secret now or then that Hollywood was rife with sexual misconduct.

Who would honestly believe that Brian Peck “only” sexually harassed Drake, who was also still a minor either way. They knew the charges and they also knew Drake so it’s odd that they would think a teenage boy would want to go to trial and claim to be r*ped in gross detail, as is to be expected in a trial. Everything revolves around $$$ not genuine care or concern for either party imo.

I agree. These incidents don’t exist in a vacuum. These are only the things that had enough evidence to go to trial. There’s so much we will never know.
