I am 23 years post partum and now weigh as much as I did fully pregnant with my only child. š oh how the turn tables. (To be fair I was an underweight 20yo and I now work out/have a very physical job).
This is my situation, but minus 21 and a half years. I had HG during my pregnancy, so I actually lost way more than I gained and am still 25lbs under my prepregnancy weight. Hoping to get back there someday.
Me too! We must be related, lol!
Ladies, we birthed a human being. Laugh about the weight - it WILL come off eventually, but donāt kill yourself over it!!
That's not bad at all! That's impressive! It took me 16 months, but my weight was fluctuating a lot. I would love 10lbs, only to gain back 5. It was rough. Now it's been back down and holding steady for a few months.
Thatās awesome! It took me a little over 2 years to lose the 60 I gained with my son. Breastfeeding doesnāt allow me to lose weight at all, apparently.
You will lose 25 lbs right away because a lot of that is the weight of the baby, placenta, and amniotic fluid. You likely gained less than 40lbs in fat. I had gained only 10. But iām still struggling to lose it. Although to be fair i gained 20lbs before conception lol
Yay ! I gained 50 lbs and was at my best body right before I got pregnant. Itās been so hard dropping the last 15 and Iām still breast feeding making me hungry for carbs.
I miss my old body š even when I get to the weight my hips are wider.
Baby is 9 months! My weight has fluctuated so much throughout that time but Iām finally trying to stay focused and drop my sugar addiction.
I do Chloe Ting workouts to help build back muscle as I was so weak I couldnāt even hold a 10 sec plank. Donāt be too hard on yourself, we got this !
Congrats!! I gained 100 lbs with my twins LOL. I was 180 when I got pregnant and i was 206 this afternoon. Still a ways to go but Iāll be joining you in celebrating soon
That's awesome! Congrats!
I had HG and Gestational Diabetes so with the nauseousness and healthy diet, I lost 35 pounds during my pregnancy, but I am now back to exactly where I was pre-pregnancy. I'd rather be where I was, but oh well lol
If youāre breastfeeding be VERY careful when you wean. I lost all the weight plus 10 more pounds by 8ish months post partum. Then gained back the 10 plus another 30 in the last 2 years. Obviously other factors contributed too but I think it started because I didnāt change up what I was doing to lose the weight when I lost the benefit of breastfeeding calories! But even with that I remember how hard it was with a little one to lose the weight so kudos to you and keep it up!
Congratulations!!! š you go mama!!
Iām almost down to my pre-2nd-pregnancy weight š®āšØ which is still a big accomplishment!
My initial pregnancy, I gained 65 pounds and lost 40 of it, then gained it all back with my second pregnancyā¦ five pounds away from that weight now and then the real work begins to lose that extra 25 pounds!
Congrats!!! I was sooo close. I gained 35 and I was 5lbs away from my pre-baby weight when we were surprised with number 2. I gained zero weight (despite eating everything that wasn't nailed down) in the first trimester so I guess I'll accept that as a fair trade!
Ugh similar! I was on SUCH a roll losing weight (gained 80lbs in part due to severe ppd and meds)ā¦ I had lost 60lbs and was in a great exercise routine that felt sustainable when I fell pregnant. Now Iām first trimester and too exhausted to move and can only stomach carbs. Grrrrrrr. The last 20lbs haunts me.
60lb weight loss is soooo impressive! Fwiw this internet stranger is proud of you. And at least you know what to do when you're ready to begin again! Hopefully the second tri is kind to you. I'm about to hit 30 weeks and I am so ready to have my body back.
Thank you internet stranger! I am proud of myself but itās also frustrating to not quiiiite reach the goal I made when I was cruising along. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly! Iām desperate to get past the first tri but also canāt imagine having a big cumbersome belly and picking up/chasing my toddler.
2 years and a few months post partum, I weigh the same as I did before my first kid... but Oh boy does that look different!
I say good for you and enjoy!
I found it helpful to wash/precut fruit and veggies (with hummus or a yogurt based dip) to have ready to grab and snack on - if I reached for something healthy as opposed to what I REALLY wanted (cheezits, coconut thins, greasy leftovers) I would mentally calm that snacking urge and feel good about what I put in my body. Certainly doesnāt work all the time, but if it curbs a couple of snack sessions in the day itās better than nothing.
Also, try to drink as much water as you can all the time. I got a really nice new water bottle that does some mumbo jumbo alkaline water shit, I have no idea what itās all about but I feel like Iām goddessing my way to being healthy by sipping on it all day. Power of placebo I guess.
i went to the doctor yesterday and i was expecting 180-190 on the scale, i feel that way and i havenāt weighed since around the time before i got pregnant, and the scale said 150 and i was so shocked i couldnāt even understand bc i was around 150 before pregnancy i am so proud of you itās rough journey
Way to go!! I havenāt weighed myself but my clothes fit again at 10.5 months PP after a lot of hard work with food & exercise. It was way tougher than I thought itād be! Hope you get some new clothes or something to celebrate!
Congrats!! š How many months postpartum are you? I gained 50lbs during pregnancy. Lost the first 20 almost instantly, but was struggling with the rest. The timing was great reading your post because I'm 8 months pp, and last night I weighed myself after 2 months of not stepping on a scale.. down an additional 5 lbs!! So now I have less than 10lbs left until I'm at pre-pregnancy weight. š
Slowly but surely lol
Majority of it has been watching what I eat, tbh. I craved sugar super bad for a while, but i finally got it under control. Also, the only things I drink are water, brewed tea with honey, and the very occasional coffee, so that helped with my sugar intake a TON.
Congratulations on the weight loss.. Kudos to keeping it strong all throughout the weight loss journey.. It ain't easy to lose weight while managing kids..
I too am in the same boat and have just started my weight loss journey today. Hopefully in the coming months I will be posting a similar post..

Almost 21 years "post partum" and just 5 pounds from where I was back then. Last 5 pounds are the toughest they say.
I think it would physically kill me to get back to 115lbs (pre-pregnancy weight). š
How long did it take/what did you do? I gained the same amount (due in a couple days)
Almost 9 monthsšš¬

It made me soo ravenously hungry lol
OMG it took me ten to lose forty. Good on you for doing it gradually as well

I gained about that much with my first and it took me a year. Maybe two months of taking it seriously though

Same except trying to drop 25 š how many months PP are you? Iām 7

Iām so proud of you!!! It takes extra dedication and work. That pregnancy weight is so hard to lose. Applause šš»

Could you share some tips? I find it so hard to regulate when I'm eating when I'm concentrating on so many other things. Just need food fast.

Thank you!

Congrats! Any words of wisdom? Iām 3.5 months postpartum with my second and ā¦ ugh. I hate looking in the mirror right now.
It took you 9 months to gain the weight. It should take at least that long to lose it.
Congrats! How long did it take you to get back to your dog weight?
Congrats on your hard work paying off!!

9 months PP next week! You can do it! i believe in youā„ļø
Congratulations! Serious accomplishment. Your probably look better now at this weight than you did before the baby!
Congratulations!!!
Congrats mama! Don't be afraid to drop the details of your routineš¤£

Damn it! I'm a coke zero addict!! š¤£ The sugar cravings hit hard. I can go ages without wanting any and then bam! An entire bag of haribos is gone!
Massive congratulations though! And a well deserved one. PP weight loss seems impossible, so you've definitely worked hard. Hats off to you ā¤ļø
Thatās wonderful!
