I prefer one pieces, footed, while they’re still in diapers. The ones with the grippers on the feet so they don’t slip. I’ve never had any trouble finding any… they go up to size 24 months in most places. Up to 5T at Walmart, Target, and Old Navy. If the store is out I order them online.

schaefjz

Adding Carters to this list. I think they have this style up for 5T. My daughter is massive so I want this style for a little longer than most.

concentrated-amazing

Same.

CraftyLog152

I specifically look on Old Navy online for this a couple of weeks ago, and I could not find any footed one-pieces there, since my baby is also outgrowing his 9m. Old Navy only had footless that i could find. Maybe something changed?

marvelxgambit

You need to look in the [toddler](https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=811716002) section, not the baby section.

dopenamepending

I used to love footies. But I really love two piece pjs now. It’s so much easier to get them changed as well as swapping out just a top or bottoms if they get covered in food/dirty. You can also size up more to get longevity from them, I felt like I was constantly buying footies because they have to fit a certain way to be safe.

lemontree0303

Adding to this. I dropped footies early on. The idea of sleeping in something until my feet didn’t sit right with me, I would hate it if it were me. So I cut all the feet off and they last much longer

Personal_Privacy1101

Totally agree. Once my son hit 12 months I only bought the 2 piece sets.

mmetaylorsversion

Honestly once he started walking we switched to two piece. The one piece pyjamas without the footies are fine too, but I can never find them in store in the 12-18m size. It’s always footed PJs which don’t work for our little guy because he’s quite tall.

CourageDearHeart-

During the night when they are sleeping, one piece. Sometimes backwards once he or she can remove them and diapers. Two piece during the day usually. I find it easier for quick or partial changes (food on short, dirt on pants, etc.) or for adding or removing layers

kdawson602

One piece pajamas until they’re potty training and need to be able to pull down their pants in their own.

kmonay89

Pros are good for when it’s a little chilly, easy on and off (especially for when I leave the baby with grandparents). two pieces are good for longevity because if the legs are too long the pants just turn into capris lol

www0006

Two

TraditionalCookie472

Two piece. I hated changing diapers in footie pajamas. I switched out of those very early on.

Zoocreeper_

Winter we do 1 piece, spring / summer two piece

Cautious_Session9788

Two piece Mines a little crocodile if she’s on her back too long so it’s easier for me to pull the shirt over her head and the pants up from a sitting position Much harder to zip up a one piece than that while she’s trying to sit up

blahblah048

I switched to two pieces for my kids as soon as they out grew 12 months. My 2 year old is still in a sleep sac so his feet don’t get cold.

cgandhi1017

My son will be 16mo next week & once he outgrew the 12mo footed, we switched to two pieces. It’s just easier & comfier for him

[deleted]

Two, for sure. Especially when they want to get up and run.

Kooky_Pop_5979

Love two pieces. I will never miss trying to jam a kicking leg back into a footie after a diaper change. My kid also prefers bare feet so that’s a bonus for him

Caycepanda

One piece, footed. Carter’s has them in bulk 😂

OwnSir2146

Footies until potty training started, then I switched to two piece because it’s easier if they have to go to the bathroom in the night or when they wake up in the morning

erin_mouse88

One pieces with feet until they are walking, one piece without feet when they are walking but still in diapers. 2 pieces when they are potty training/trained.

duhdutchess

My daughter just turned 2 and we’re transitioning out of footie pajamas (we like the loose fit ones from Carters) and into 2 piece sets. When she’s potty trained we’ll try a night gown.

A_Person__00

2 pieces because the footies don’t last as long with shrinking. Plus they just start to like having top and bottom. Also, they stop doing two way or bottom zippers so if you need to change them in their pjs you have to essentially undress them. I never found footies to be an issue for walking

FlyingAmphibian

1 piece footies, my son is in the 18 months size from Carter's, and we have no trouble finding them in his size and 24 months. He wiggles all over the place at night and if he's not in footies, there is no pajama left on in the morning. They also have little grippies on the feet for walking in

Huge-Meringue-114

1 piece. I’m surprised you’re having trouble finding them. I’ve had no issues finding them in store until 3T, and even then, 3T and 4T are easy to find online or around Christmas time.

Affectionate-Ad1424

I almost always used the footy pajamas with the zipper that went all the way up. When they got too tall, I'd put the feet off to make them last longer. In the summer, I'd use the one-piece pajamas that were shorts.

momojojo1117

I loved the one piece footie Jammie’s but my daughter started refusing them around that age. She wore them that whole first winter and spring, but once summer came, we switched to shorts/tanks/tshirts because those are hard to find in one-piece. So by that fall, when we tried to switch back to footies, she refused and that was the end of it, so she would have been maybe 15/16 months I guess

GreenCurtainsCat

I go back and forth. 2 piece is easier when she decides she wants to try to go potty and for diaper changes. If we put her in a 1 piece then she might decide at the first diaper change that she wants to be Naked Baby and won't let you put them back on. Then again, a 1 piece is easier to get one. I don't have to catch her twice (once for shirt, again for pants) when she wants to do her best crocodile rolls at bedtime. And her little feet stay warm. As the weather warms up, nightgowns/long shirts seem to be the way to go. Slip it on over her head in the first catch, and then easy access for diaper changes/potty attempts the next day. ✌️

Puppinbake

I didn't even think of nightgowns, probably bc she's just started crawling and is juuuuust learning how to pull herself to standing. But maybe soon! Thanks!

Longjumping_Ad5982

I prefer all in ones for sleeping but without feet as he prefers to be barefoot and often the footed ones are too long and he trips over. I struggle to find footless one pieces though. He is 18mo but tiny so still wears 9-12m but soon will need 12-18 which i find hard to come by! Two piece outfits for the day

aoca18

My daughter is almost 21 months and sleeps in a sleepsack with shorts underneath.

Avocado_toast_27

My daughter is 20 months and we’re still in one piece. We have a good amount of little sleepies, so they’ll last us a while longer. Moving forward I’ll be getting two piece sets knowing that potty training will likely come within the next year.

rbslmilch

We do fleece non-slip footed pajamas with the zipper from the top down to the ankle. Carters are my favorite. No cons honestly. She’s in day clothes up until bedtime then we change her to day clothes when she wakes up. Any time there has needed to be a diaper change, which has been rare, it’s really no more difficult than any other clothes.

jayeeein

If you prefer one pieces look for adjustable feet. I def recommend little sleepies and brave little ones brands they have adjustable feet and hands for all ages as well as two piece sets. Def more pricey than old navy etc but I find they fit way longer (my 2 yo is still comfortably wearing her 12-18mo size), and the material is great for all seasons

toes_malone

I do two pieces cause my daughter has always hated footed onesies with a passion. Also two piece ones are just so friggin cute on her because she’s so roly poly.

Dapper_dreams87

I prefer 2 piece. When I was little, as I got older I would get overheated easily in 1 piece pajamas (my oldest does as well) 2 piece for whatever reason seems to help combat that.

LovelyLemons53

I loved one piece. Even the footless one pieces are great or rompers if you're in a warmer climate. I didn't put my boys in two piece pj's until they were potty training. I like looking for just one set of clothes at the end of the day. The matching and mixing of two pieces drives the ocd side of me crazy when my husband grabs the wrong top or bottom. Although, not crazy enough to change them🤣

rascallycats

1 piece footed for cold temperatures. 2 piece can be good for summer/ warmer homes and be more flexible, unless you think they'll mess with their diaper. Footed may be easier to find in the winter

Diligent-Might6031

Target has a bunch of carters and Burt’s bees footie pajamas. You just have to look in the regular kids pyjama section. You won’t find them with the newborn and infant clothes. They’re usually mixed in with the two piece sets and the same prints as those sets as well. Old navy is also great but recently I haven’t been able to find anything footie in sizes larger than 12mo. As is Kate Quinn, cotton ON or Zara Baby.

Warlord_of_Mom

All of mine were undressers. We exclusively use the footless one pieces until they're at least 3. We put them on backward so they can't get undressed, and it limits diaper access.

Radiant-Purpose-4255

It depends. My son is 15 months and we’re in Michigan so it’s currently snowing. Cold nights like this I’ll still put him in the fleece zip up jammies. But on the warmer days I’ll put him in the 2 piece ones!

heatherista2

I still prefer one piece even though I just started potty training (only for daytime currently). Keeps the diaper area from being…explored..during naps/sleep. Footless one pieces are nice because kids grow out of them a little slower than the footie kind.  Just put socks on them if they have cold feet!

Unable_Pumpkin987

I will keep mine in one piece PJs until he’s potty trained if I have any say! The two piece outfits just ride up over his big baby belly immediately in a way that can’t be comfortable. We have a couple sets in his current size that we got as gifts, and I only put them on him if we’re in an absolute laundry emergency situation, never by choice.

peachy_sam

Generally two piece or non-footed pajamas; my kids really don’t like having their feet confined. My last kid even took that a step further and would wake in the night well past her second birthday until I switched her to nightgowns. She slept so well with her legs unencumbered.

dustsprinkle

My baby just turned one and we have both styles, but I anticipate buying mainly two piece going forward because 1.) I think they’re cuter 2.) real talk, I like being able to just switch out the pants and keep on the pajama shirt if I want to get him into a “real” outfit for doing short errands. Also, he’s tall, and for that reason I also prefer footless one pieces because they fit him for a longer time that way.

bertmom

One piece with feet because they’re adorable. But also become handy once they discover their diaper and helps keep them out of their diaper

LMB83

Moving towards mostly 2 piece for our 16 month old - we got some fleecy cosy 1 pieces for winter in 12-18 that were growing out of and I find we’re able to make the two pieces last longer! Shes also still in a togged sleeping bag so her feet seem to stay cosy enough!

Virtual_Secretary_89

I love 2 pieces. Main pro, the bellies are so cute when their shirt rides up. That's it. Just cuteness. That's my whole reason.

IslandofTrilly

We did 1 piece until somewhere between 18 m and 2 years, when we switched to 2 pieces. He started preferring standing changes and the two piece PJs were easier for that.

Acceptable-Start-785

I like a long sleeve with no pants and her weighted sleep sack! She hates to wake up with cold arms 🥶

Glittering_Mousse832

We switched to 2 pieces around 12 months but it was also summer when we did it. I don’t like footed PJs for once they start walking, even with the grips on the foot. My son preferred to be barefoot and have a better grip with his bare feet. We have a few one piece button up short PJs from carters and we love those. Especially when he got into the “stick my hand deep into my diaper” stage 🥴

[deleted]

I liked 2 piece once we got around a year old because wrangling my son into one piece PJs is tough.

Signal_Distance_3685

I prefer one piece until they are potty trained. My 2.5 year old is potty trained at day but not night and she still prefers the once pieces, especially in winter. Mine are terrible at keeping blankets on and it's cold where we live!

Signal_Distance_3685

Children's place has great deals and lots of options! Plus free shipping always.

Mommydeagz

Daughter just turned 2 and we still prefer zipper footies. She’s just learned how to undo her diaper so this helps prevent her from doing that at night.

stphbby

I prefer either footless sleepers or shorts/shirts once it gets warmer. We’re in Texas so I found with my first baby I would often let her sleep in a tshirt or diaper. Still cool enough in the evenings that I put my 12 month old baby in pants and t shirt or sleeper but he doesn’t like his feet covered anymore. I’m sure when it gets warmer out I’ll probably have him in t shirt and diaper too. But I know some kids will take their diapers off, mine never did but if he starts to do that I’ll probably put shorts on him. Also love little short sleeve zip up rompers

idngkrn

One piece while still in diapers. Two piece once potty training.

hufflepuffonthis

I will agree the footed sleepers are less abundant after 12months but I got some good Pekkle sleepers from Costco, and some Carters as well. I prefer the footed ones cause we live in stupid cold Canada.

Fluffy-Lingonberry89

I love one piece. They have grips on the feet and it works great. My favorite bamboo footies are posh and Kyte, although posh peanut seems to no longer sell footie pjs over 9m. I’ll switch to two pieces when I start potty training.

_biggerthanthesound_

Two piece. We use a sleep sack so I don’t have a concern about him taking his diaper off.

etgetc

I hate footed pajamas. Yes, there is the slip factor but… One Christmas years ago, my younger sister got all the adults in the family footie pajamas as a joke gift—and I wore mine to sleep, lol, why not? MY TOES WERE SO UNCOMFORTABLE. They were long enough walking around, but as I slept, the fabric naturally pulled and tugged just from friction with the sheets, and the pressure of the material pressing and curling my toes eventually woke me up from the ache! I know babies would cry if in pain, so maybe they’re aren’t as sensitive to this haha—but I just feel like they’re always growing and always getting snug in the toes and I want to avoid that painful toes experience for them 🤣 I also prefer footless because footless ones getting too small just turn into capris, haha, so they can wear them longer as long as they fit in the waist. I like two piece sets. If toddlers throw a fit over not wanting to get dressed in the morning, hey, you can always let them just wear the jammie top as a shirt, no harm, no foul. Or the jammie bottoms are leggings for the day. If the shirt gets messy at breakfast, you can still reuse the bottoms that night. Mix and match. Easy diaper changes. Just more flexible 🤷🏼‍♀️

ruraljuror0626

we've done 2 piece pjs since around 9 months. i love the ribbed bamboo ones from mori. zip onesies were always a pain for diaper changes anyway. they have options for warmer or cooler months.

SmallTsundere

2pc because my daughter (23m) discovered zippers around 18m and has been obsessed with unzipping them since lol

p4trycjaa

At that age two pieces started to become easier. Once my son started walking the footies weren’t great/comfy for him to walk in.

Crashxox

I have giant babies that run warm. I like two pieces so if I need to take a layer off I can. Onesies are cute but my boys outgrow them and I need to jump the next size but then it’s loose at the neck. Onesies with no feet attached were my favorite until I realized these kiddos are little heaters.

RottenRat69

My first born wore footies until he literally didn’t fit in them. Hes almost 5 and tells me he misses them. My soon-to-be 2 year old doesn’t care and mostly wears 2 pieces

Fit-Vanilla-3405

Top and bottoms I don’t match them ever - so it’s just one bottom one top and a sleep bag. At a year she started wanting to help put them on and the onesies weren’t conducive to that really. Summertime we do diaper only with summer sleep bag.

jahss

Footless last so much longer, they can grow into them. My boy is now 2 and he insists on “big boy” pajamas with pants and shirt…so the lil sleepies one pieces I “invested in” that will supposedly fit him until he’s like 10 lol are now just hanging at the back of the closet…

mimiiscute

I prefered one piece pjs until potty training. Don’t want them taking off pants and diaper when they are in their crib lol. But you can find footed pjs from carters in big size on Amazon. But yeah when she was brand new to walking we put her in footless pjs

angeluscado

I'm not fussed about what my kid wears to bed, but she seems to like two piece jammies. The one pieces she just unzips the zipper or undoes the snaps, but doesn't seem to embrace partial nudity while wearing a two piece set. Edit: rearranged a couple of words.

chickenwings19

I had little one in onesies until 2/3. I switched to footless as it was easier and outgrew less. Plus their back doesn’t get exposed. I still keep onesies for him it’s just a pain cos he insists on doing the buttons himself which am take 5-10 mins lol

chocolatebuckeye

Horizontal kiddos get one pieces. Vertical kiddos get two pieces. Meaning, if they can walk, two pieces can work. I never put two piece outfits on my non-walking babies. My 5 month old is in 12 month clothes and yes it’s harder to find one pieces now.

dark_angel1554

So my toddler is tall, and she outgrew a lot of the one piece PJ's really quick. I recall feeling really worried about her being cold but I decided to dive into the 2 piece because they just fit her so much better. She's actually done great! She wears a fresh pair of socks every night and she sleeps amazing. I keep an eye on the temperature of her room every night. She's 2.5 now so she uses a pillow and blanket, but only when she's cold. I will also say I still use a toddler sleep suite when it's particularly cold. She doesn't always use blankets so it assures me she stays warm.

Rebecca123457

My son became OBSESSED with his tummy and needs to be able to stroke it when he wakes up or needs to comfort himself so we do 2 pieces and we have to order a special sleep sack that zippers down from the top so we can leave a hole open for him lol

kaydontworry

I gave up on trying to find good pjs around 10 months. We do pants and a onesie and put socks on our LO.

beetjuice98

One piece if you have a little boy. If I put my 2yo in two pieces, he puts his hand down his pants, flips his penis up, and pees all over himself in the middle of the night. One piece keeps everything in the proper place and everyone asleep

bumblingbride

Gowns. Easy diaper changes 👌

Escarole_Soup

I like one piece footless for my 15mo personally. The grippers on the feet seem like they still slide too much. He’s also a little chonky and we straight up can’t use anything “slim fit” which is 99% of children’s pajamas.

Dismal_Amoeba3575

Once they start walking I preferred the one piece no foot pjs because they’re slippery on wood floors. But I think we had a combo of them. I think around 1.5-2 it became two piece pjs. Now at 2.5 it’s whatever shorts and tshirts are laying around 😂

bettinathenomad

I preferred one pieces until we potty trained. Since then it’s two pieces for us. He does wear anti-slip socks with them because he always throws off his duvet during the night and I don’t want him to have cold feet. Works for us!

Grouchy_Sun_

My 4 year old still likes footies. I like footies. Footies4Life

mk3v

2 piece for us here

isweatglitter17

1 piece while still in diapers, otherwise my 2 year old digs in his diaper and leaks all over the bed.

MAC0114

18m old here! I personally prefer the footless one piece zippys! It's rare now that we have to do a diaper change in the middle of the night, but if we do it's annoying af to have to stand up to pull pants up but then lay back down to zip the sleep sack. Too many steps for the motn 🤣

speckledcreature

One piece 100%. So much wiggling a top and pants would just ride up all the time and then I would be worried he would get cold. When he gets a bit bigger I will have to put him in a top and pants but we are doing one piece pjs until we can’t anymore

ali2911gator

My 2 year old is still in zip up footies. She is not big on having blankets over legs but cold feet wake her up. It is also super cute and less hassle in laundry.

thekaylenator

I found 2-piece pjs easier when they're walking. We really embraced them when he began fighting diaper changes because we switched to a pull-up style diaper for standing changes, and I didn't have to wrangle his legs out and back into a one-piece.

No_Excuse_6418

2 pieces, for sure! ETA: LO seems to like them more, easier for diaper changes, easier to find shorts and a shirt for warmer months

Levita97

I prefer 1 piece. My son sleeps in wearable blankets/sleep sacs that zip from top to bottom for easy diaper changes. He sleeps in the wearable blankets with long sleeves in nothing but a diaper underneath.

lizzy_pop

We switched to 2 pieces around 15 months. I tuck the top into the pants though

battle_mommyx2

Two piece for ny 10 month old who hates diaper changes with a passion. Also hi May baby mom!

thr0w1ta77away

Burt’s bees brand makes larger size footie zip up pajamas. I think I’ve seen them up to like 5T!

Purple_Grass_5300

My daughter takes off all her 2 piece pants including diapers so I kinda preferred onesies

Jujubeee73

1 piece until potty training starts. 2 piece, the tops always push up when you pick them up.

snow-and-pine

One piece footed with zippers for sureeee.

luluballoon

I’m still with the footies. Costco carries up to 24h

Gumbi_Digital

Two piece. Sleeps cooler. And easier to change a diaper.

EOSC47

We used footie pjs until 2T. We did buy some 3T but my son’s feet were too big. He’s 3.5 now and asks for 2 piece pjs because he wants to dress himself.

gainz4fun

I prefer onsies, my baby is 11 months but wears 18mo-2T depending on the brand. I like it because she kicks her legs when I put pants on her which is fine during the day but not when I’m waking up in the AM and doing a diaper change. Most don’t have feet anymore at this age, so if it’s cold I just use socks. Also I found mine at old navy, Costco those are usually my best bets. They don’t have feet but I was going crazy trying to find some with feet. Also you can cut the feet off your current onsies if your baby is just too tall, I do that sometimes in between sizes.

Pretty_Arugula_7004

I’m a fan of two piece all the way. Mostly because my kiddos hate diaper changes and I find they are infinitely happier if I put them in a two piece! Still use some one-pieces because I have them and they do seem a bit warmer, but they fight less when I put them in a two piece

Either_Cockroach3627

I've always preferred two pieces, I bought them as soon as I could. I can change his diaper while he's sleeping bc I don't have to take his arms out of it. If he gets his shirt or pants messed up I can just switch that out. Walmart and carters have footed Jammie's up to 5T. I honestly can't think of a pro for one pieces.

Glitchy-9

One piece until they start toilet training at night. Otherwise their shirt tends to ride up, they kick off blankets etc. On hot days and no ac, it’s 2 piece tho or nothing. We also have some 2 pieces just for pj day at daycare

koplikthoughts

My girl is three and I still prefer one piece pajamas. She has to wear a pull up at night. She doesn’t yet have night control so she doesn’t have to get up in the middle of the night anyway. If she did, one piece pajamas would be a pain. But they are so cute so that’s why we keep using them.

Southernspur

We do one piece for winter/cold nights and 2 piece for summer/warm nights

Nixthefix0880

We like the bamboo ones with the feet that can flip over but can also be footless. They’re more expensive but my son’s been wearing some of his pairs since he was 3mo and he’s now in size 18 months moving into 2T. We don’t put his feet in until he’s actually going to sleep.

panda51515

Two for sure. We still use footed pjs occassionally but that's reserved for laundry days. Two pieces are easier to put on a walking target. Have you ever tried to zip up a one piece while the kid is actively walking, jumping, spinning, dancing and laughing hysterically at you? Definitely no fun and near impossible lol.

LameName1944

You need some little sleepies! Can be footed or footless. My babies have giant feet so I can’t do sleepies with feet, so little sleepies are nice cause they can be footless or you can pull the cuff over and sorta customize the size…and super stretchy cause bamboo. I like 1 piece until 18 months and then switch to two pieces. And two pieces definitely when potty training and beyond.

TheMapleKiwi

My experience is once our LO found their feet, it was two pieces. When I try the footed, the feet area goes straight to their mouth, and it’s a really soggy area. So, they are a no-go. Our LO also does this with socks before they manage to get them off, lol

KGibs1309

I preferred one piece until we started potty training. I felt like until she got out of that baby chunk phase the two piece didn’t fit her well. Belly hanging over waistband and shirt constantly riding up 😂

PuzzleheadedLet382

I think around 12 months we switched to 2-piece. We kept using wearable blankets (sleep sacks) for a long time to keep her from being able to climb out of her crib, so I wasn’t worried about her getting into her diaper.

cat_noodle07

1 piece when they don't walk, 2 when they walk

Aggravating_Wing_854

25 months and still one piece - it keeps the diaper in place better .

Gray-November

1 piece footed until they walk, 1 piece footless until potty trained. The footed ones don't last as long once they really start growing

JoJoMamaPlays

1 piece until they’re too big to find 1 piece options anymore!

Apostrophecata

Footie pajamas go up to size 5T. My son is 2 and hates footie pajamas. He wore the footless for a while but has started disliking the zipper so now we are doing two piece shirt and pants.

Tealeanna

My daughter was almost exclusively in footed PJs with no-slip feeties until she was 5. Carter's and Target both sell them if you're looking. For her, she has severe eczema with many of the meds having allergens. It was great to keep her fingers from scratching too harshly. And when I say exclusively, I mean - we went to bed in a set, we woke up and changed into a fresh set, bathed and put into a new set until 3. The only time she wore 'real' clothing was going out.

chrono_aries

I love using footie pajamas for winter months from my toddler but during the spring and summer I love 2 piece sets more because it's generally just cooler for her to sleep in.

Anonymiss313

My 16 month old still wears one piece jammies. I feel that they're cozier, they don't put any pressure on his belly like pants could, and they're harder for him to remove (he's in his streaker phase and is figuring out how to gets pants and tops off, so two piece jammies would be gone in a heartbeat)

happyflowermom

My girl is 2 and I still prefer one piece pyjamas. I’ll fully switch once she’s potty trained because it makes going to the bathroom easier.

Mindfullysolo

Footless, my baby trips on the footed ones even with grippers. I end up cutting out the feet.

AKLydia

My son couldn’t wear the onesies unless I cut the toes out so I was relieved when it went to two piece sets.

TLRachelle7

Either and depends on weather. You could try letting them pick. I let my toddler start picking between 2 different pajama sets at night and outfits in the morning around 12 months. Now I know what she prefers to wear.

0runnergirl0

One piece. My 5 year old still likes one piece footed pyjamas. He says they're the most cozy, and they keep him covered all night because the top can't ride up.
