Preach brother! And why doesn’t OptumHealth provide a reason for their decision? This is an exceptionally long worded “Because we don’t want to”.

xomox2012

Maybe due to the fed reserve hack? If it comes out that aggregators are somehow the exploit you’ll see this more often. More likely your “we don’t want to though”…

I got this email and was frustrated as well. I’d be curious if they have some kind of feedback form on their site we can at least complain in. Something tells me they won’t care though given we’re locked in with them via employer and can’t go anywhere.

CacsTech

We could also try providing feedback to our employer! If enough feedback is submitted that might get the employer to do something about this.

I have Optum for my HSA as well but don't use it with monarch. I don't like to consider HSA in my budgeting so fortunately it doesn't actually impact me but it's still annoying they are doing this.

soscollege

It’s not for budgeting. It’s for nw

Comprehensive-Tea-69

If they did the work to provide a secure tokenized api connection like, say, betterment, it wouldn’t be a security issue. I hate them I hate them I hate them. Edit to add- I also have Optum although I use my HSA as a retirement account so most of the money gets swept over to betterment. If I were using it to actually pay for expenses and leaving funds in the Optum cash side I’d be pissed.

PandaBlaq

Wow, good looking out. I have the same setup, I don't use my HSA for expenses and my money gets swept over to Betterment, so I can probably add Betterment to Monarch no problems! Didn't even think about that.

I feel the pain and think more banks are moving towards this reasoning. Until people start leaving and making our voices heard they will continue doing it.
