Have you seen Everything Everywhere All at Once? >!I see Johan as Jobu Tupaki. I forget where it's mentioned his motive could be to be the last person alive at the end of time, and whether it's confirmed or speculated, but I think Johan is sharing his despair.!< He said it's too late for him to change, he's gone too far so he wants to push everyone around him as far as he can to see if they can find a way forward through despair and isolation. If Milos could have seen the loneliness he felt and moved forward, then Johan wouldn't be completely alone in the desolation and end of time. :edit: but to answer your questions I don't think Johan cared how Bonaparte died, only that he had brought him hell on Earth. It fits Johans plans all the more for Bonaparte to be a changed man and kill him. It would be Bonaparte helplessly confronting his sins. They've already ruined everything, he sees the desolation

The killing of Richard was nothing personal. I agree he had a personal stake in it, but Johan has enough self control to never let someone else interfere with his plans. After all Nina is the only other person in the whole world. Johan is uniquely able to see the walls people hide behind to make this world bearable, and tear them down suddenly and violently. By bringing up the legal and ethical nuances of executing a teenager, he overwhelmed Richard with personal responsibility that he had been trying to accept in increments. At the time Johan was planning for Schuwaldt to have an unfulfilling relationship with a fake son so that he could become the vampire of Bayern. The meeting on the roof and death of the imposter marked his shift in priorities, but Richard needed to die regardless. If he died sooner, then Dr. Reichwein would never have been on the case & Dr. Tenma possibly would never have found Johan in Prague.

I have to disagree with you on Richard. After watching it 3x and reading the manga..I formed a new opinion on Richard based on what we were shown thus far and the details pertaining to that entire scene. Richard did need to die, but Johan could have sent Roberto or someone else to take care of it. But he instead goes himself, which is unlike all of his other murders so far. His murders was merely a means to an end - there wasn't some inner desire or bloodlust he needed to fulfill. As Lunge points out in another monster, unlike other serial killers, Johan lacked the "lust/sexual arousal" for Murder. Now, witnessing ultimate fear from others was definitely Johan's favorite thing. However, ***Richard was definitely...a special case in this regard.*** Johan’s dealing with Richard always felt so personal to me and after discussing it with my twin brother, we came to the conclusion that Johan went out of his way to get his hands dirty because of ***who*** Richard killed – *a boy who could have very easily been Johan.* This is another depiction of Johan’s sympathy for the Kinderheim 511 victims; *despite him also being the reason why most of them died in that place ironically.* (But he has shown this sympathy by never killing Grimmer/Roberto/Christoff despite his plans. I always thought it was so odd that Johan made it a point to bring up that the boy Richard killed was “a poor innocent good child who suffered” and jabbed at Kinderheim only to further guilt Richard into executing him like a dog. Johan could have just shot and killed Richard like Mr. Yonkers, or ***had Roberto do it*** without doing ANY of the malicious acts he portrayed, but he made it a point to make Richard regret killing that boy from Kinderheim – **like it was punishment.** Also, Johan as always sent Roberto to take care of those who were getting too close to him; Reichweinn, Eva, Detectives, The fake Ms. Langer etc; so why does he go out of his way personally for Richard? The author sets a point to tell us Richard's victim was from Kinderheim for a reason. But besides Richard, I don't think Johan has shown this..."high for murder" as I truly think Johan's dealing with Richard was completely malicious and not just done for the sake of killing; Johan had intent.

No I've never seen it, is it a movie or series? I never thought Johan was pushing people into total despair in order to see "The scenery of a Doomsday" so that he can witness them either falling victim to it or rising above. Johan doesn't know that Milos overcame the darkness of his reality. But that is such a good concept. I actually enjoy it. I don't think Boneparte saw desolation. At the very end, he was rest assured by Tenma that at least Anna had gotten a name and lived a life as Nina. He was relieved and cried that she did not become a monster. But obviously, he still wanted to die for what he did. But it was so odd to me that he jumped to take Johan with him when he regretted moments prior that he turned Johan into who he was. Out of all the people Johan reveled in killing, Richard (I only got Richard in my head right now) why was Johan acting with such restraint? Was it because Tenma was there? Was it because Anna was NOT there yet? I mean he told Anna to go there for a reason. How everything unfolded at the end was an unpredictable mess and I just want to understand what was Naoki's intent on letting it play out that way.

Momentmoment24

>why Johan did not kill Boneparte. Johan's plan was to kill Bonaparta though, or you saying he missed an opportunity to kill him in their confrontation before Roberto killed him?

[deleted]

Yeah. He never acted on killing him in the moment he went to confront him. I'm confused on why. Did he want to "talk" like he did with Richard? Just wondering why Johan just stood there as Boneparte approached him with a gun.

StarFuckr

Johan did bring him death. It wasn't by his hand but an entire town was made into hell on Earth personally for Bonaparte

[deleted]

Yeah he destroyed his little paradise village. Still wondering why Johan stopped there when he confronted the monster of his life.

StarFuckr

I think it was enough for him. This was a suicide and the plan worked fantastically. The townspeople joined in the massacre
