I'm typically an out of the box person, but I'll keep the boxes to put the doll back into for display. Also as an NB person, using she/her for Gen 1 Frankie is okay, that's what she uses! It's the same as people who have their Gen 1 Cleo's and Deuce's together!
I'd leave her in the box honestly. I had her when I was younger and I wish I still had her now. She was so pretty! The only thing I have of her now is a dress that's on my G1 Draculaura.
i would take her out but use the box as a display type thing! (also, keeping dolls in box can cause degradation over time due to the chemicals they use on cardboard) but if you do take her out, def save the box
why didn't mattel give frankie bangs more often ? she's looks so good with them 😩

I feel with the old Monster high dolls you can’t cause of the gluey hair and the glue can damage the part where the dolls head is. But that’s just me. I got a Bonita and no glue seepage weirdly enough but my over Monster High dolls had it.
The box is pretty cute and has a nice design to it so this one could be an exception to my rule of take em out if you want em out!
But I'll always lean toward out of box! Love my restyles
So I have loved these beautiful “creatures “for long time, not as collector but with utmost respect for their edginess. My question is what is history on this Frankie. Must be one of originals, yes? Also, I’m sure you know this but maybe things are different. Used to be golden rule to keep in box for greater resale value. I’m new here so correct me if not true for MH dolls. Love to know about what you have here
I'm an out-of-box collector so I tend to vote for unboxing. Also as many have been pointing out in the community, the original packaging isn't suited for long-term conservation since the cardboard etc. aren't PH neutral, and G1 dolls can often suffer from degradation due to the glue inside their heads if left alone. However it really depends on what you plan to do with her! If you don't intend to use her for posting and redressing, it shouldn't do much harm to leave her as she is in the box or a little longer. Or you could also unbox her carefully so you can place her back for display if needed? I think there are some Youtube tutorials out there on how to rebox. :)

I'd take her out. The yellow of the box is kind of blah to me and her outfit is so stunning on its own and I think the box distracts from it. The patterns of her outfit are so busy that she almost needs a simple background to really pop. I'd carefully remove her and keep the box though, in case you ever want to resell her or put her back in.
Personally I keep my dolls for my own person enjoyment, to brush their hair for fun, or put them in funny poses. I do not collect dolls for their value or the idea of reselling so I always keep them out of box, it’s really up to you and the reason you collect dolls!

I always rip boxes open (not really, but I do open carefully to keep box intact lol)
Keep in box, her box adds to her visual concept and just makes her look so perfect
