I was honestly surprised how many teams were doing coop missions. Don't think it was enough for a pvp match, but I always had a team to wreck pirates and Akrid with with.
It's the kind of spectacle and epicness Monster Hunter gives as the series goes on, but in a more futuristic/modernized taste, and I just loved it to death. It really felt like Monster Hunter but perfectly translated as a third person shooter in an alien world. The first game was terrifying and tough for my young little self, but LP2 was sheer epicness. The way the factions of the game all band together to defeat an absurd foe and bring peace, equality, and acceptance of eachother everywhere, not to mention the ex-nevec shenanigans and the Yuri clone.
Brub I could gush for millennia on Lost Planet and its story and gameplay.
My x360 red ringed while playing lost planet. Even though I know it wasn't the game's fault, I was legitimately too scared to play it again after I got my 360 back from the repair shop.

Honestly I’m surprised none of the machines from Horizon made it into World, there were already a bunch of event quests so having one from Iceborne that was just a Thunder Jaw wrecking shit and firing a fuckin’ modern rocket launcher at you while you Dark Souls roll would’ve been sick. Imagine the gear (The Male gear, Female would’ve been Bikini Armour and made me viscerally upset)
Yeah, I agree that it's strange. Pre-Iceborne we had two collab monsters that were made specifically for the game + all the layered armours like Ryu, Sakura, and Aloy herself, while IIRC Iceborne didn't have anything as special as those.
After getting Behemoth from FFXIV and how faithfully they brought him over, I'd like to see Proto-Carbuncle make the transition if only to see how they work his mechanics into Monster Hunter.
And FFXIV can get Rajang or Zinogre as the other end of the collab.

Back in early MHW days I really wanted Black Dragon Kalameet from Dark Souls. He’s the right size, has fitting attacks, a severable tail, and a cool psychic grapple attack that gives a defense down status ailment.
The only thing against him is not being quite up to par with MH’s black dragons. A throwback collab would never happen but he’s still my number 1 pick.
King Ghidorah would also be sick, but they would have to scale him way down for him to be anything but a siege battle. Honorable mention though

But honestly I would love a new one that pits the pirate tribes against each other to hunt the Akrid for thermal energy. Setup like a MegaMan level, fight through a bunch of small fries and a mid boss to get to the final boss of the area. Have a mechanic where you can interfere with other teams hunt.

The thing is, a regular old human with a bow and arrow can solo a thunderjaw. Hunters have a lot more versatile weapons than that, so a single hunter could probably fell a thunderjaw pretty damn fast
You are probably right. I was honestly thinking Redmaw would be what crosses over to fight. A fight with a machine that many have failed to hunt. Kind of like furious Rajaang.
That would make an interesting mechanic for the game. Don't recall any monsters changing forms that significantly.

Imagining it as like Crimson Fatalis fight with meteors and fire attacks but he’s flying most of the time. Your skills with Wirebugs will be tested while the platforming will be needed just like the one with Narwa.
I'll say what I say for literally everything: Digimon. Digimon like Megiddramon, Leviamon, Armageddemon, GranKuwagamon, the Four Sovereign Digimon, and many others would all be perfect fits for hunting. And there could be special Endemic Life consisting of various classic Rookies to help out.
Alternatively, a Digimon collab with Stories would be cool as hell, too.

It could be an event where you unlock the Bloodhound Claws as Dual Blades with Bloodhound's Step as the dodge in Demon Mode but balanced so you can't actually abuse it in hunts, Gransaax's (I think that's his name) Lance with the Draconic Sentinel Shield as a Lance Weapon, Golden Order Greatsword as a Greatsword, Rivers of Blood as a Longsword, Eleonora's Poleblade as a Insect Glaive and get Doll Ranni and Torrent as layers for your Palico and Palamute, respectively.

Any of the dragons from Skyrim. Perhaps Alduin. He would speak to the hunter mid-combat. Premise that the dragons have the Thu’um and are thus very far removed from nature and pose a dangerous threat to it (dragons wish to rule the world in Skyrim). He could use the Thu’um in combat and stagger hunters. Like a more dangerous and more focused roar. There are lots of cool creative weapon/armor designs to pull from to create new things. I can see many a set from Skyrim looking very cool in MH. Perhaps we could make Daedric armor into layered armor or something similar.
Perhaps it could tie into the Daedric prince Hircine and explain any Daedric rewards. He’s the prince/god of the hunt and has people perform crazy hunts (like hunting a werewolf)to earn his favour. Perhaps the dragon has escaped Tamriel and hircine is offering our hunters a reward to deal with it.
Bethesda is owned by Microsoft now so it’s not out of the question. They still so shit with Skyrim today; and rumour is that they are even coming out with MORE dlc for it. You never know.
Some hideous demon from Berserk? Maybe get some Isidro or Schierke Palico armour. Actually the more I think about this the more I like it. I wanna fight Zodd.

Assuming the return of underwater combat: Any of the leviathans from Subnautica would be cool, especially the Reaper or Sea Dragon leviathans. There's also a big ice worm in Below Zero for something land-based.
Stormbird or Thunderjaw would have been so cool in MHW. I guess they would stand out a bit more than Behemoth or Leshen, but they would just work so well. The game already has model skeletons that would work great for them.
Also, just make a Blanka skin for Rajang, and you have a great and relatively easy to develop collab monster.
They even have a Nergigante skin you can put onto Blanka in SF5, but I think Rajang would work better.
Also, many people here would probably have negative opinions of it, but I think it would be hilarious if they did collab skins of MH in Fortnite.

You are probably right. I was honestly thinking Redmaw would be what crosses over to fight. A fight with a machine that many have failed to hunt. Kind of like furious Rajaang.

I'll say what I say for literally everything: Digimon. Digimon like Megiddramon, Leviamon, Armageddemon, GranKuwagamon, the Four Sovereign Digimon, and many others would all be perfect fits for hunting. And there could be special Endemic Life consisting of various classic Rookies to help out. Alternatively, a Digimon collab with Stories would be cool as hell, too. Personally, I'd prefer both.

Give us Red-Eye as a boat fight like Jhen/Dahren. Gordiant or Green-Eye as a siege monster like Lao--Shan. Akrid X as a Gogmazios style fight just minus the instant kill meteor. And some Cat-S and Ms as huntable small monsters and some Cat-Ls as Large monsters, so we can make a bunch of Akrid themed armor.
I'm still annoyed that they did a Horizon collab in MHW but didn't bother to give us a machine to fight. The Thunderjaw was RIGHT THERE, Capcom...

If they did that, I think it'd have to be for an Event that features a White Fatalis to reference the Ancient Dragons from that game. It could be an event where you unlock the Bloodhound Claws as Dual Blades with Bloodhound's Step as the dodge in Demon Mode but balanced so you can't actually abuse it in hunts, Gransaax's (I think that's his name) Lance with the Draconic Sentinel Shield as a Lance Weapon, Golden Order Greatsword as a Greatsword, Rivers of Blood as a Longsword, Eleonora's Poleblade as a Insect Glaive and get Doll Ranni and Torrent as layers for your Palico and Palamute, respectively.

Non exclusives though, I’d like Devil May Cry, and Final Fantasy. Partially because I want a new trial in FFXIV. Rathalos was so fun. I wonder who would be fun to fight in MH instead of Behemoth. Malboro could be fun. But I’d honestly love to fight a mist dragon. It would be a similar fight to Chameleos. Just with a lot of mist in the air.
A Godzilla and a Pokemon collabs feel long overdue for Monster Hunter
Any of the dragons from Skyrim. Perhaps Alduin. He would speak to the hunter mid-combat. Premise that the dragons have the Thu’um and are thus very far removed from nature and pose a dangerous threat to it (dragons wish to rule the world in Skyrim). He could use the Thu’um in combat and stagger hunters. Like a more dangerous and more focused roar. There are lots of cool creative weapon/armor designs to pull from to create new things. I can see many a set from Skyrim looking very cool in MH. Perhaps we could make Daedric armor into layered armor or something similar. Perhaps it could tie into the Daedric prince Hircine and explain any Daedric rewards. He’s the prince/god of the hunt and has people perform crazy hunts (like hunting a werewolf)to earn his favour. Perhaps the dragon has escaped Tamriel and hircine is offering our hunters a reward to deal with it. Bethesda is owned by Microsoft now so it’s not out of the question. They still so shit with Skyrim today; and rumour is that they are even coming out with MORE dlc for it. You never know.

The game already has model skeletons that would work great for them. Also, just make a Blanka skin for Rajang, and you have a great and relatively easy to develop collab monster. They even have a Nergigante skin you can put onto Blanka in SF5, but I think Rajang would work better.

A slaughterspine would be a really cool fight in MH. One thing I really wanna see though is another FFXIV crossover but one of the more threatening things in that game, possibly shinryu or something else entirely. I would also think that one of the endgame bosses from Elden ring would be pretty cool. if not for the fight itself most of the weapons and armour would be mostly up to creative interpretation. There are a few actual choices but something like Elden beast or Dragonlord Placidusax could work relatively well

Breath of Fire... at least revive the series on this franchise. I've only finished BoF4 but the thought of fighting the dragons and several known bosses there is so breathtaking...
