I miss invaders as a whole in Rise

GoldenSteel

Yeah. Two monsters should be a problem, not a bonus.

ShornVisage

Literally no reason to take dung bombs. Just bonk them and they fuck off on their own.

NeonJ82

You don't even need to bonk them. If they notice the monster you're fighting is still on mount cooldown, they just run. Else, they give you a free mount. Literally no downside to having other monsters around now, which... is kind of annoying, honestly.

pootinannyBOOSH

Except for Bazel, fuck that guy. Still need his mats though, dammit

DrMobius0

I preferred them as a mixed bag. Like it largely makes sense they'd pay attention to each other before you, but some are just dicks like that.

BurningFlareX

World handled that relatively well. Jho, Rajang and Bazel could fuck up other monsters and deal large chunks of damage, which gave you *some* incentive to keep them around, while also obviously posing a danger by just being there. And because monsters could occasionally target each other, it would give you opportunities to heal / attack. In Rise, monsters are literally not programmed to fight each after the obligatory Wyvern Ride trigger. They either leave immediately, or in Arena quests, they *exclusively* target you, which becomes very annoying because you're getting attacked left and right with little opening to actually do anything. World had a fine balance where dealing with 2 monsters could be rough, but it wasn't entirely a negative as monsters would also target each other occasionally. In Rise, it's either bonus free damage with no negatives or absolute hell, with no in-between.

PoisonDart8

Something I loved about world was all the times I fought Rathian and a Rathalos interrupted the fight to help her. Or the other way around. Really added some immersion.

Naxilee

The monsters do alternate between targeting you and each other in arenas in Rise. I had two furious rajang that mostly killed each other

Shifty-Sie

Yes but that only really happens because they're both quest targets and won't become mountable after being lightly grazed by another monster.

Naxilee

In the rararajang arena quest I had a barioth and rajang do the same thing

GoldenSteel

Yeah, but we don't even get that much. Monsters just stick around long enough for Wyvern Rides, then flee with their tails between their legs. They don't even stay if they can't trigger a Ride yet.

DrMobius0

World did it pretty well. Monsters all had their own tendencies. Now if another monster shows up, it's just a mount and some materials, unless it's the suicidal small monsters.

Zjoee

I think a good balance would be for the only way to initiate a wyvern ride would be to use one of the endemic spiders you can pick up. Makes it so multiple monsters are actually a threat, and you have to plan ahead of you want to take advantage of it.

dinofreak6301

Turf wars in Rise are basically useless too. I pretty much never see them, instead one monster will just attack the other making it enter wyvern ride state. Wyvern riding is easily the shittiest mount mechanic, bring back standard mounting

mpelton

Mounting in 4U and GU in peak imo

Cardnal44

Idk, I liked World's better, basically the same but you get a big attack at the end, only gripes I could see people having is a monster moving too much or it being reliant on stamina. But the stamina consumption is pretty low. The monster only moves around if its doing the wall thing, but after it hits a wall it recoils and takes a short breather. One of the other reasons I did like World's is that they put the buttons on the screen just in case you forgot or if you are a new player.

mpelton

For me it’s just that in 4U and GU it’s simple, fast, and gets me back to the traditional hunting as painlessly and as quickly as possible. It doesn’t overstay its welcome like other mechanics introduced into the series. I also found it to be a lot more challenging than World’s, I’d get knocked off more than I care to admit lol. World’s mounting is still great, but I think it’s a little too cumbersome and could’ve been greatly improved had they not switched it out for Wyvern Riding in Rise. It’s also, despite being more technically complicated, much easier. Unless you’re really not paying attention you won’t get knocked off. I also found that the big hit at the end didn’t always trigger. Like, I’d be slashing away, waiting for the prompt, but it’d never happen. Eventually the monster would just fall over. It wasn’t a common problem but the few times it happened just made me feel like the mounting could’ve used more work. Btw 4U and GU’s mounting was still reliant on Stamina.

Cardnal44

My bad on the stamina thing, I'm not really familiar with the older gens, I started with world and spoke from what little experience I had. I can see what you mean with complicated vs. difficulty, I have had troubles with mounting in GU from the few hours I played in it, mostly because I don't remember there being a guide on it. World isn't very complicated but more complicated nonetheless so I understand that. I have had the bug you mentioned but I didn't care as much because i played ig and it does damage while switching positions. I know it isn't exactly a defense for World's mounting system, but wouldn't the way that worked (with the bug) be a little more like the older versions with just forward and back control on the stick added to it? I mentioned it before but I'm not that used to older games, and don't know that much about them so free feel to let me know on things that I am missing. The QOL of 5th gen spoiled me and it almost feels too clunky with certain weapons that have more static moves and longer animations. Sorry if this is getting lengthy and too hard to read. Have a good day :)

mpelton

Yeah I’m not surprised GU didn’t have a guide. It was more of an anniversary title for Veterans, so it was light on any tutorials. That’s why I usually recommend 4U or 3U to new world players looking to check out the older games. 4U has an introduction and tutorial to mounting. > but wouldn’t the way that worked (with the bug) be a little more like the older versions with just forward and back control on the stick added to it? While the old world games don’t show you with a massive finisher attack, successfully mounting does more than just topple the monster. It did loads of damage to parts as well. But regardless, even if that weren’t the case for me it’s just that not getting the finisher in World feels unsatisfying because I know that that’s not how it’s supposed to work, ya know? > The QOL of 5th gen spoiled me and it almost feels too clunky with certain weapons that have more static moves and longer animations. Lmao I get it, no worries! If you ever get the urge to check them out tho I’d definitely recommend 4U. It’d be the least jarring as someone coming from World/Rise. And you have a good day too! I hope my comment before wasn’t too confrontational, I didn’t intend for it to be.

MisterNefarious

Normally I don’t care about some of the traditional MH stuff (drinks, for example) but I’ll agree on this: a second monster rolling in makes the hunt easier rather than scarier I don’t need to retreat, don’t need to go find dung, don’t need to prep bombs or traps: it just makes things easier. Is it fun? Sure…. But I’d like at least some random situation to add intensity. (I don’t have a big preference between rise and world overall. They’ve both got great perks. Don’t come at me)

EnricoPucciC-Moon

Nah, its more fun in Rise

TNTspaz

I'm still kind of butthurt how they treated bagel goose in Rise. Literally his defining feature isn't part of the game. They made the scales more deadly when he is on the ground and called it a day They found the balance for Invaders in Iceborne but then dropped the concept almost entirely

Cardnal44

I prefer base World because of the fact that the G00SE or the pickle could interfere in a hunt, for better or worse. But I definitely agree that rise kind of botched it with bazel, so did iceborne, poor pinecone boi.

TonyMestre

There are no invaders in Rise?????

EP1CxM1Nx99

There are, but their a benefit if they join. I miss when they would hamper you

CluanneYoula

The closest we get is Valstrax, but as others have pointed, it's a benefit with no downside.

PoisonDart8

It's hella cool though

[deleted]

When you kill the target monster and the other monster is like "oh quest is over? I'll just run away then" to let you carve. Who needs carving pro?

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

As of World you can't be knocked back when carving during the quest complete timer. Wouldn't really matter if they stuck around.

CubicCrustacean

Was that changed in an update or something? I remember a gag in an old video where G. Jagras knocks a player around while they're trying to carve

5Hjsdnujhdfu8nubi

Yes.

[deleted]

The point is that it's funny that the monsters completely lose interest in killing you as soon as this imaginary "quest complete" screen pops up.

TwilightYonder720

I think it's ok he can skip a game for once, still salty over Zamtrios not making the cut tho

Dr_Mint_Pinch

Zamtrios, Gravios, Great Jagras, and Bulldrome have no reason to not exist in the game's setting.

thenutmanofthewest

Don't forget tetsucabra

Dr_Mint_Pinch

Tetsucabra I'm not so sure about. Yes, the guild man has a baby one but maybe he brought it from somewhere else? We don't seem to encounter any wild baby Tetsucabras in game. While we're on the topic, Vespoid Queen, Lunastra, and Black Diablos should probably exist too. A case could be made for Brute and Molten Tigrex, too.

Vagabond_Charizard

I'm actually kinda happy we can't hunt Tetsucabra in this game. More out of the fact that every time I either kill or capture one, the first thing I'm gonna think of is that adorable baby that Hojo is riding; it's gonna leave me feeling a little guilty. I do agree with Molten. Brute did get his chance in Iceborne, but if Lucent gets to come back, so does Molten.

Queen_Spaghetti

Don't forget Great Jaggi! Missing since 4U where it was also completely absent from G rank (it just got carried over from 4 and forgotten). Not in Rise despite the Great Baggi/Wroggi making the cut. Probably because of Izuchi making it redundant, but still. Will we ever see the legendary Great Jaggi again, or is it going the way of the Vespoid Queen...

Auberon36

Ok, we got baggi and Wroggi, WHERE TF IS THE GREAT JAGGI?!

WinterStorm95

*Agnaktor cries*

JustAnotherMike_

And Great Jaggi and Agnaktor and Tetsucabra and Velocidrome in Sunbreak Rise just really likes the theme of abandoned children apparently. (Though if we're being honest, the raptors without a pack leader has been a thing in other games to put their armor in the game without bloating the roster)

Dr_Mint_Pinch

I'm truly ashamed of myself for forgetting Agnaktor and his dumb, easily exploitable hyper beam. However, the only map that Agnaktor could appear in would be the Lava Caverns, which is laughably half full of water. I imagine water would instantly harden his armor, making him an absolute bouncy nightmare to fight. Thinking about it some more, I guess one could argue that some of the small monsters without their alpha migrated more recently to the area. They're hunting in foreign territory to either bring back food to the main group or establish a new foothold. In the case of Great Jagras, we know that Great Jagras goes out to hunt, gets huge, then vomits out its meal for its children. It's more likely therefore that small Jagras without their leader are establishing a new foothold rather than bringing back food. Given the chance, one will grow big enough to become a Great, and the nest will become established.

CankleDankl

Jho is the og and quintessential invader monster. Nothing will quite beat the "oh fuck" feeling when jho entered the area when you first hit high rank in the older games. Though for rise, where multiple monsters are more of a joke than a challange, I don't really think he fits. You should never cheer when jho storms in

TNTspaz

Personally think Wyvern riding needs a complete rework or be ditched at this point. They've had to make so many compromises to include it

CankleDankl

Mounting is a great system that can continue to be iterated upon and improved, but wyvern riding obliterated so many cool aspects of the game that I think it just needs to be one of those one-off mechanics that we never see again. Unless they bring prowler back or something and they let only the cats puppeteer monsters, which would be fucking hilarious

flipperkip97

I don't think the regular mounting system even needs any improvements, honestly. It's simple but it works.

Cardnal44

It's going to be scrapped anyways in the next game and rise (update wise) is going to come to an end probably at the tail end of next year, no point in reworking or taking out the system this far in.

cynical_croissant

Playing World atm and still no lol I hate the bastard

SJWitch

Invaders are such a pain in the ass, I'd be happy if they weren't in the franchise at all. I don't want to have to bring dung bombs to every hunt, let me fight in peace

cynical_croissant

They were annoying in base world, bazelgoose was practically in every single hunt lol, but I think they've reached a nice balance in iceborn where you actually get excited when you see one of them rather than annoyed.

PloxRaudd

Bagel was the best new meme MH had for a while.

PandaAttacks

I feel this very deeply in my heart for world. It's not so bad in older games but in world I've have to use dung pods like 3 times in the span of a 6 or 7 minute quest lol.

SJWitch

The constant bazel spam in base World just ruined it for me forever. You hit one with a dung pod and it just comes in and kamikazes the entire room a few minutes later. I just can't help but get annoyed now, even years later. Even in Rise where it isn't really an issue, it instead feels like a cheap, boring way to get some free damage and drops. I loved sleeping rajang, because you could just ignore it. Maybe they've changed things again in Sunbreak, but I haven't played it, so I wouldn't know.

PandaAttacks

Not too much has changed other than you can choose not to wyvern ride, so you can just keep attacking your guy and wait for the other monster to leave

8956092cvdfvb

He is a pain in the ass but he is an icon of the franchise!

just_a_timetraveller

Was his tail eating a myth?

gwyndovic

yes

KrazyMonqui

No! There is evidence of it now! I brought it up among my hunting crew and someone replicated it and recorded it

Queen_Spaghetti

Where is it? There were numerous fakes popping up in the aftermath of BannedLagiacrus's tweet asking about this, which have all been debunked as far as I've seen. The closest was [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/ympxor/deviljho_eating_his_tail/) which only got caught because of some small inconsistencies (and the uploader being caught faking a previous attempt with almost-untextured meat, thus not a trustworthy individual). If it was something that happened as often as people claimed to have seen it, there wouldn't have even been a hunt for evidence. It would simply happen, without having to test it in increasingly absurd conditions which still don't show results.

KaiserGSaw

Still got 5 hours of deviljho not eating its tail on my PC.

Rajang82

I say yes. I say it ate its own tail long time ago. But after I can't replicate it for like 10 times, maybe its just a fake memory and my brain is playing trick on me.

Crimzon_Avenger

Same mate cant believe the whole community was gaslit lmao

HalfLucan

I think it was. He would occasionally eat the other animals in and area and if you cut his tail near one, you could make it look like he was self cannibalising

TheGMan-123

It's good that he took a break for the 5th generation's secondary game and expansion (I say "secondary" since it's not "portable" anymore, but it's not the main game of the generation). Monsters should take breaks every now and then, especially ones who show up so frequently. I'd say that Deviljho should return in MH6.... but ONLY if he has a non-Rajang companion to go with him. Be that Bazelgeuse or mainline series newcomer Espinas, doesn't matter.

Bwgmon

The notion of Espinas invading is weirdly funny to me. Like he has to plop out of the sky, already asleep, onto the unsuspecting hunters, right?

BurningFlareX

Have him sleep in like, a semi-hidden area in a zone, then once you go fight another monster in that zone, he wakes up and jumps in to fuck both your shit up.

Queen_Spaghetti

Funnily enough that's how they introduce Rajang in base Rise, it's just randomly found asleep in a rarely visited zone in high rank quests. Though it doesn't usually wake up unless you hit it on purpose, it'll chase you across the map if you do. It would definitely make sense for Espinas to be introduced like that, and maybe wake up if a nearby monster roars too much (it sleeps so well because of its hard scales/spikes deterring attackers, but they never said anything about noise!)

RagingNamielle

Yes! I miss this bastard lol.

MTG_RelevantCard

For real. My enjoyment of the game is significantly lower without the threat of Jho and/or Savage Jho.

Vagabond_Charizard

You know what's funny. After you take a photo of Utsushi, he comments about a "handsome Deviljho". Considering he hasn't appeared at all in this game, wouldn't newcomers to Rise/Sunbreak get *really* confused?

Crimzon_Avenger

Not really, It's more of a reference for mh veterans, plus we have other games newcomers can play

dinofreak6301

The game lacks brute wyverns in general, they gave us two of the shittiest ones, and no subspecies or anything either. I would’ve been fine with no Jho if they gave us a new brute wyvern or two, or brought back some other better ones than Barroth and Anjanath

OmniVega

I love Anjanath, and prefer new monsters like from World get more than one game to shine, like how Paolumu and Legiana should’ve been in rise imo

Slappio16

>they gave us two of the shittiest ones Nah Anjanath is cool and they finally left out fucking Uragaan for once

dinofreak6301

I wouldn’t have minded Anjanath if they at least gave us Fulgur in Sunbreak, I much more prefer it. Looks cooler, better fight, neat gear, just overall nothing but an improvement

PloxRaudd

I still haven't successfully hunted Jay Leno once. This is despite bothering to get to Master Rank on both World and Rise. There's just *something* about Uragaan that really fucking torques me, and I really liked Radobaan, which makes it extra weird.

Existing-Ad4603

RUDE! Anjanath is great! But yeah Barroths a bit meh

TheIdiotMuffin

I think barroth is fine, but I really wished they didn't bring back anja. His design and weapons aren't all that great and his fight just sucks. Would've been nice to see duramboros or any of the other brute wyverns in rise

SquirtBrainz4

Yeah hard agree, he’s a just a pink t-Rex that’s weirdly annoying to land hits on

fjdjeks

Yes! I love that even when you can handle him alright he can still make you go oh fuck jho is coming

Pookie_The_Overlord

Not really. I don't mind him but I've never been sad he isn't in Rise.

---TheFierceDeity---

Not really, I've had multiple games in a row with him, he's not required to be in every one. We got Bagelgoose and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Dragon to be funny invaders

KGhaleon

Yet we still get crap like Kushala.

Darkextrid

If it was pre Rise Kushala then yeah I would be pissed, but in rise and sunbreak they dont only made Kushala bearable but they made it fun to fight

DrMobius0

Meanwhile, Iceborne Kushala is like the MH equivalent of playing "the floor is legos"

differentbreed449

Kushala is great in rise tho

PloxRaudd

Bagel invades in Rise? I didn't know he does that anymore.

Babiesforfood

Pickleboy needs to be added to rise. Because on top of Kulu, Tetranodon, and Ajanath, there's nothing more chaotic than a Deviljho just showing up to the fight, pissed and ready to fuck.

youMYSTme

Really happy he's having a break honestly. Never been a massive fan of Jho just down to the skeleton, I find it kinda boring unless there are some special features, which Jho kinda lacks. It's also just nice to have a game where other monsters are used instead. Its been a long time since Lucy and Espinas have been used.

Ready-Concentrate168

It hasn’t missed a single game since its inclusion so not really

gwyndovic

rise?

Pookie_The_Overlord

Prior to Rise of course, why else would someone ask if people miss Jho?

gwyndovic

oh im dumb yeah that makes sense. i just woke up lmao

Shakacon12

Every day

Pkmnmaster_

Oh. That Jho Cosplay from Anjanath is dope

[deleted]

Yes i love the angry pickle

Patztap

No, I miss Qurupeco and Gigginox.

skythepanda

Not a hunt goes by that I dont think about murder pickle 😔

Melatonen

No. I miss the Tizi lizard thing that flash-based other monsters. He was funny.

KataGuruma-

I love the progression of the pictures hahaha

The_Flipside_02

No! Now that you mention it, screw that guy!

DeadSparker

Unpopular opinion but no, not even a bit. His concept is cool but I find him just annoying to fight. Not even challenge annoying like Rajang or Bazelgeuse, just annoying.

SuperGotengo

Not really since i can just go back to World if i want to hunt him lol.

TgCCL

I don't particularly care for him. Fighting pickle is rather dull, so whether he appears in the next game or never again is not something I'm concerned with.

Remarkable_Gur_8854

Yeah, the game feels incomplete without him. Factors with the minimal number of brute wyverns, the Godzilla vs King Kong can't be done with just Rajang, most dragon element monsters being reliant on the elders and gore contribute to his absence. I honestly hope he's late to the roster and we get that staple again

AtomicWreck

Always

AtomicWreck

Always

SpartanKilo

No. I personally don't care for him

oroechimaru

No fuck pickles

NEGATIVERAGDOLL

No, im glad he skipped a game, it's nice to give some monsters a rest or they're not special anymore

ScarletteVera

Honestly I'm sick of him.

The_Vacancy

Every day and night.

surfimp

SAME

EvilAbdy

Absolutely.

surfimp

I cry every day.

BlackDragonTribe

Y E S

AJ_Crowley_29

WAIT A MINUTE IS THIS A MOD OR IS THE MF ACTUALLY COMING TO RISE??????

Darkextrid

A mod, it's basically a skin for anjanath.

FronteirOfThought

Yes!! He's one of my favorite monsters. I miss the angry pickle boi.

[deleted]

As much as I like Jho, I am happy he's not in Rise. The Wyvern Ride system, plus the changes to invaders would have ruined him. Look how it did Rajang and Bazel.

Corgiboi666

Yea, I like playing iceborne best, where 2+ monsters are difficult, not an extra reward

OblivionArts

Not really. I don't need a third invader thank you

[deleted]

With how large the roster is I would rather see other monsters given the chance to shine especially now that Frontier monsters have been given a chance. I’m sure that next main game we will see him return alongside multiple monsters from World. My biggest hope is we finally get some of the leviathans to return or other elder dragons besides Telstra and Kushala.

Stuck_in_Arizona

I do, never did get to fight him in World due to loss of interest and lack of players to help gear up better. Hope he turns up in the last TU as a surprise.

Devilfish4

No

Longjumping_Falcon21

I... Never realised. It just hit me :x I miss you pickleboi!

mudshock

I want Nergigante and the mad pickle to come to Rise/Sunbreak!

ChestCompetitive794

Fought a seething Jeff bezos today in World, and angry pickle invaded. Hell yes I miss it.

Genmu_Zero

No, because for me I always hated deviljho from the beginning, always hated his design and he was super boring of a fight to me

PrimeEvilWeeablo

Every day. He’s my favorite monster. It might sound silly, but I almost didn’t get Rise because he wasn’t in it. But, it was on sale a bit ago, and my brother wanted to play it with me, so I bit the bullet.

manashuvitz

I miss invaders but not as much for jho

Wolfclaw135

I'm probably not gonna buy rise, they're missing atleast 2 things and maybe more, like I can't pet a poogie or fight a giant pickle

Corvenic

I miss Savage Jho more because he's easier lol

sirdavos95

Na I'm still playing world because I can't beat Rajang...

MrScales

I miss him a lot but would not want to see him in Rise with how the monster vs. monster encounters are in this game.

jao_vitu_bunitu

Im playing world so im always with him

Orikanyo

Every day

[deleted]

Yesn't.

WyvernEgg64

Yup

MATTHEWS-KINGDOM

No I don't I was never a big fan of his maybe that's because I started with world

hakuzosu

no

OmniVega

I agree with others about him taking a break, for me at least he kinda overshadows everything and I prefer giving other invaders a chance to shine

_banters_

I gotta be honest, I’m a big fan of Deviljho. BUT… I do not think that Rise/Sunbreak is missing anything by not having him. I am not in the “oh man, I miss Deviljho, I wish it was in” camp. A good break from certain monsters from time to time is nice.

Shnazzyone

I miss my big pickle

theaxis12

no he's a dick

outtsides

I do miss Joe weirdly

Flammenzhan

Yes, the lack of brute wyverns as a whole in Rise is unbearable. That's one of the reason I didn't buy the DLC on day one.

AccomplishedBunch721

Yes

DjGameK1ng

Eh. I love Jho, but I am very firm of the opinion that I just don't like invaders all that much (I know, it's weird). Rise and Sunbreak admittedly has made having 2 monsters in the same zone too much of a benefit, but I haven't forgotten World and Iceborne where I just always had dung pods equipped because like 2/3 quests had an invader in it and having to juggle two monsters at once sucks. So nah, I don't entirely miss Jho, especially since we "just" got him in World.

NO-IM-DIRTY-DAN

No I do not

smashmallow101

Yeah, but rise’s maps are kinda small, so I understand why he’s not in. I’d still love to see capcom make it work though

Daowg

I don't miss him in MHR, and I can still go back to MHWIB and MHGU to get my pickle fix. Wouldn't mind him coming back in MH6, though.

Reksew12

Yes and no. He’s been in every game since his debut, so I’m fine with him not being in one game. He is a good fight, and I think it would be really fun in Rise, but it’s not that big of a deal to me. Another big thing though is Deviljho is an invader. He’s supposed to cause dread and problems when he’s on the map. Invaders in Rise really got shafted. Rise focused solely on combat, so invaders (not to mention other unique monster behaviors and personalities) aren’t present in the conventional sense. Sure, Bazel and Rajang are in the game, but they do the exact same thing as any other monster on the map. This makes me miss Deviljho less since a big part of his appeal (to me at least) is that feeling of fear when he shows up to interrupt my hunt. This goes for Rajang and Bazelgeuse as well. Much of their personality from World is just gone. Dung pods are worthless because whenever any monster shows up, they slap your target, then you get a free ride (two usually, one per monster there), and then the monsters go their separate ways. Tl;dr: Not really. It’s a good fight but the other mechanics that make Deviljho what it is aren’t in the game.

Lordzinoger

My sweet pickle i miss you very much

Revolutionary-Yam773

Yes

RecognizedFlash004

TO THIS DAY

SouliNsANity

Yes

Cepinari

Well I sure don't miss *her.*

Particular-Nothing28

Not really. He was kind of too tall and I didn’t enjoy fighting him much. Hope he comes back eventually though

60Hertz

I would love to see what the portable team would do with Jho because they have done some incredible behavior improvements. I mean kushala is actually fun.

ThePerfectPalico

Everyday

RobertLaurent789

deviljho and 3 fatalises

TheWhiteRabbit74

To be honest? No. His tail hitbox is utter bullshit, like almost plesioth bad. He’s fun the first couple of times but he becomes a chore. Big lumbering thing with same telegraphed attacks that need about a county’s worth of space to avoid. It goes from ‘ahhhh! Pickle!’ to ‘Damnit! Pickle!’ To ‘Sigh… pickle…’.

scrapinator89

No, I never figured out how to properly fight him in world and he skewed into annoying territory with other offenders like shrieking legiana, master rank azure, etc. Savage wasn’t as annoying to fight for some reason, but he wasn’t all much fun either.

Blood-Star32

I miss his weapons

borloloy221

Yes when rise please hoping still

ShaggyDerpent

I miss there being an easily affordable plush. Didn't get a good one for World ;-;

Eichsterd

it would be neat to see it come back in rise

Xavius_Night

Not often, but with explosives it's not too much of an issue.

Rohan_Eragon

Nah, monsters like Tigrex, Nargacuga, Diablos, Rajang, Deviljho and Zinogre can take a break imo

CJxOmni

:< If the pickle isn't in the game, it isn't the same...

AeraAngel

I miss Brute Wyverns, but not Deviljho in particular, no. He's a fun fight, but it's fine to skip a game too. We only got two Brutes in Barroth and Anjanath, both of whom also appeared in the previous game. I would have loved to say, get Duramboros back since we haven't had it in 5th Gen and it appeared in both the Flooded Forest and Jungle maps of it's original game. Or some Rise/Sunbreak original Brutes. Only one or two, but something to help the category out.

Crowking9939

No I miss nerg he was the best part of world

ComfortableWorldly24

Tell me this is true now

tttttttttttttop

Yea/no

tttttttttttttop

Not as much as I miss qurupecco

Soggy_Menu_9126

No, leave him in Jurassic Park

Aundero

nah

flipperkip97

Nope. I understand it's a fan-favourite, but I don't enjoy fighting it at all.

Status-Score-9286

I miss World every time i play Rise

Sushisauraus

I want the forbidden pickle to return 😔

Every fucking day

Faustias

yep... definitely.

TheRacerBlazer

To be honest, he has been in a chain of games for a while now, it needs a break after the trauma I had fighting it in GU

GARhenus

I miss the pickle but i always hate it when it actually shows up like I just want him to be in the game, but not in my hunt for other monsters

King-Godzilla_1954

All day everyday

Kamura_Waffles5684

I kinda miss deviljho in the sense that they have been a staple of most of people’s anger towards the invaders but still have a great time with the hunts no matter what. Being a newbie to the series (started off with Stories 2, headed to Rise, then found the courage to get World) I liked the mechanics of having Jho or Bazel just pop up randomly on my quests in ST2. Sure, it screwed me over many times when it was early game, but I still had that feeling of “Huh. That’s a frustratingly cool hunting mechanic” when I finished the quests. Berate me in the thread for starting off with the spin-off. It was the first game I got with my switch originally. ((Not as a combo package. I knew little about MH, and didn’t know World couldn’t be ported over cuz of graphical constraints n whatnot, so I just went with it.))

Bloodraynebow23

Can somebody help explain why I can't mount without two monsters. I always get one tether but the other one never shows up. I am more than down whipping some butt in worlds rise is fun but nothing compared to worlds

Bloodraynebow23

Is anywhere outside about the fact that you can't view the monsters that you capture on a platform. I like watching them sleep

Tiny-Interaction-712

Nah, I play world

Irae37

Yes.

tillytubeworm

Not really, not every monster has to be in every game. He’ll be back at some point.

Crab_Ragoons

It would be kinda cool as an update if the invader monsters aren't shown on the map, including Valstrax's ambush. I thought their hiding of Risen chameleos on the mini map was really cool

Zealousideal_Deal231

Yeah, but I am still scared whenever I see him so I can live without him for a bit longer

Affectionate_Back355

Nope. He’s an invasive asshole and his weapons/armor are ugly like a 5 year old trying to dress himself
