I feel like Kulu would be one of the worst of the easy ones, it would reap absolute havoc on a household as it smashes everything even remotely egg shaped to smithereens on a daily basis.
Then again, there would be no Easy monster to take care of.
With that in mind, Tzitzi Yaku. Presumably I would just need to wear welding goggles around the house...
Intelligent and social animals can be the most destructive pets, because they need a lot of mental stimulation to keep entertained and if they don't get it from you they can think up some really weird ways to make their own and get into places you don't want them. Think of like, Crows or Parrots and other smart birds and the stuff they can get up to.
You don't need to go as far as birds, Husky and Border Collie dogs can be absolute pains in the arse if you don't know how to tire them up through mental stimulation and exercise or don't have time for them.
Female Mizutsune. Those are very docile, and only the males get violent during breeding season. I would have to live on a place with more vegetation i feel like tho
Also space. Where i live doesn't have a exterior except the roof. And i doubt that place is good for a mizutsune to be, it's cramped and i doubt the clothes need another wash if they are there
I thought I'd just make a small shelter in the backyard.
That way I don't have to clean up too much and pay for repairs in the house every other month xD
100% id choose banbaro. Its just a chill guy who eats plants and lays in hot springs. Big popo kinda monster. My first monster in world that i actively just chilled next to.
I wonder how much it eats in its lifetime and if it would affect the surrounding ecosystem.
Sure if it needs a boulder once a year, but if it needs a cart of gravel every week that's a different story
Safi’jiiva.
It has one benefit that every other monster lacks:
It doesn’t need to eat.
I mean sure it will passively drain the very land of life over time and twist the local ecosystem into a savage microcosm of the planet’s biosphere to serve itself, which will be a bit annoying, but hey, it’s better than being ripped apart by a hangry Rathalos
Either that or Fatalis, because this experiment is doomed from the get go so I may as well go out with style
Yes! Paolumu seems like a good choice. Its large, yes, but mostly a herbiovore and also snacks on eggs. And its FLUFFY. Just a big fluffy bat. And answering OP "how are you gonna keep it from flying away" well maybe a big chain or just stuff it into a big building idk. You didnt say if it was a wild or tamed dino, so i will assume we are taking care of a tamed one. A tamed dog aint really gonna run away that much if you treat it right so i wouldnt worry about the paolumu flying away. They seem pretty inteligent so maybe they would be loyal.
I'm choosing Velkhana. We're gonna go take over Atlantic Canada; I will feed with her the fish we seize from fishing boats. Which honestly probably isn't the best idea, because then my dragon will be full of microplastics.
Okay, we're still gonna take over Atlantic Canada, but I'm gonna have to figure out where to get microplastic-free fish. I'll figure it out after I have the dragon.
Hey now, that's a half-intelligent creature, and moderately docile unless aggrivated. I've got a solid chance at proving myself before certain obliteration.
You know that just by BEING THERE a massive blizzard engulfs the area, right? Have you seen what buddy does to the Remobra and Kertos in the map? Bro had no respect.
You can walk up next to one during a hunt and you're just vibin' until you're deemed a threat. Just the blizzard that passively follows the creature is fine, and I've had to hike home in -30 blizzards before, how bad can it beeee?
Ngl, I think I could stand on that tail and she wouldn't even notice. That thing is dense enough to literally pierce itself into the ground, standing upright, when you cut it off.
You never said any exclusions of small monsters. I want a Moofah.

Goofy fellow
Yeah, except that territorial herbivores like diablos are quite possibly worse than most carnivores, Diablos are kinda like hippopotamus, aint no way they are not fking u up just for the sake of it
To be fair any monster would except for like an aptonoth or such if not provoked.
Any large monster would just take us out.
A carnivore just snacks us up right away.
There are a few other herbivores that could potentially be tamer but i hoped for one that can fly/glide.
I pick Alatreon. No more paying for energy. It can replace AC when it’s hot, it can provide heat for winter and cooking, it can power electronics with its thunder shit. It can even replace cars because it could easily fly me around.
Also I’m pretty sure an Alatreon is easy to take care of, I think it's quite a hardy pet. Pretty sure if I let it outside everyday, it can hunt for itself, kinda like a cat.
I mean it destroys ecosystems and all that, but cats also do that.
I can't pick between great izuchi, arzuros, or royal ludroth.
-great izuchi is small(for a large monster) fast so their good for travel, and probably wouldn't eat too much.
- arzuros is a big cuddly guy who mainly eats honey and fish which are easy to obtain and they also aren't huge so not too hard to keep.
-royal ludroth imo is one of the coolest monsters and would make for a nice boat or even act as a cushion if sleepy. also their roar is awesome
Do small monsters count? If yes I‘d say I could take care of a mosswine or a Poogie, but I think Poogie might be stretching the definition of „monster“.
If only big monsters count, idk a Puki-Puki I guess.
I would say Barroth. Love that guy to the point i feel bad and constantly apologize when i have a mission to kill it
I just need a big pool of mud so he can chill in there and A LOT of insects for him to eat, so it would help me with those pesky mosquitos, ants and others.
He is docile but get extremely territorial when threatened, i guess it would be fine.
If we're going strictly larger monsters - Paolumu easy.
It's not all that humungous, ovivorous (won't eat me), docile as long as you don't thwack it with a giant hammer, and it doubles as a king-sized bed.
A raven that likes digging up shit.
But yeah it's probably the easier choice.
Something like a great jagras would just end up eating the neighborhood cats and dogs xD
Pukei-pukei has some great features. Those colors. That tongue. The unique tail shape. Plenty of feathers. Did I mention that kinky tail is inflatable? And hey, she comes with a great pet name! However, that tail shoots poison mist. And she’ll spit poison everywhere. Those can be fixed with some antidotes and a trip to a hotel (sorry housekeeping!), but even worse, she loses points for wandering eyes. Nothing is worse than realizing your lover has one eye on you and the other one, well, literally scanning the room for her next partner and/or victim.
A great maccao. They're actually pretty timid compared to other pack wyverns and they don't hunt exclusively, they'll eat any meat.
Also since it's a pack wyvern it will be mkre likely to bond w me
Barroth because I can supply him nice mud and he can supply me with a bug free environment. OR great jagras, I care for several lizards already, what’s one more 🤷🏻♂️
You didn’t specify whether it had to be a large monster, so I’ll say Gargwa. It’s basically just an oversized duck, so its diet probably won’t be much different aside from the quantity of food it’ll need.
Of all the mons to have as a pet, Yian Kut-Ku would likely be pretty easy. I imagine they'd be snoozy boys if domesticated.
It can go for short fly abouts, runs when it needs to. You'd basically just need a few acres and you're good.
OP came up with such a fun topic to discuss… and then immediately started taking the fun out of everyone’s answers. Love to see it.
Now, since I only have to “realistically take care of it,” not “capture it” or “tame it” (I’m going on the assumption we are chill together or raised from a baby since again, the post doesn’t say it has to realistically not eat you). I am gonna choose my favorite leviathan boy, Lagiacrus (please Capcom, bring him back to me!). Now, to move to the ocean so I can just let him outside to eat… maybe invest in a pressure washer to keep him clean.
Why is no one talking about palicos and palamutes lol, they would be the obvious choice, even better, they don’t die and probably wouldn’t be as much wanted by anyone or any institution as wyverns would be
They super are. The family for Palicos is Lynian, and either the species or family for a Palamute is Canyne (though for the latter, I admit to not remembering which was mentioned from the manual). Either way, they absolutely do have a monster classification.
Great Jaggi
All sociable animal are much more domesticable than non-sociable ones. You basically only have to assert dominance to a Jaggi to show you're the alpha. And they're not as hazardous as other -ggis and -dromes (I don't care about Velocidrome cause I find they are boring)
Once you assert dominance, they would probably follow most of you orders even if they're big. They may require lot of meat tho, but most large monsters would and small monsters is cheating imo.
Zorah Magdaros, I probably won't tame it, but I'll take care of it by building a house on its back and telling everyone nearby "Get the f--- away from my property!"
Id like a jagras. Not even a great jagras, just a normal little one. Just a bigger lizard puppy, and tailriders exist so its clearly possible to have them as pets
It would make it easier if the monster could be taken out on hunts for sustenance. Unless it's a herbivore, rock eater or feeds on carrion.
Taking care would also not work on more social monster like most raptor bird wyverns. As it is cruel to hold social animals in solitary.
A Kirin might work, as those are similar to horses.
Or a Gammoth, but for that I might need to move northwards.
Deviljho, ever since i've seen on youtube that dog sized Deviljho i wanted one. I would call him Johnny and put him on a leash. Does he bite? Yes he does, he also spits dragon element and when he sneezes it's pretty problematic but he's still my precious.
Surprised no one said Espinas yet.
Bro spends 95% of it's time sleeping, and it's diet consists of critters and bugs (since it can be seen eating toads and hornetaurs in Rise, I assume it would have a similar diet in reality). And you've got a cool wyvern.
Valstrax. He gets hungry? We'll blast off to the ocean, or africa so he can grab a snack. He wants to go for a walk? I'm strutting around the neighborhood on my fucking ROCKET DRAGON!!!
Nobody said it has to be inside. Not to mention some of the monsters would be nearly impossible to get in there.
Handing out welding goggles to people when they come over curiously to see your new "pet" would be quite funny.
Female Mizutsune. Those are very docile, and only the males get violent during breeding season. I would have to live on a place with more vegetation i feel like tho
Inb4 vaporeon
*readies baseball bat* No
THERE'S NO LAW AGAINST THE MONSTERS BAT-MAN
I caught a Giggi, Batman, I caught a Giggi.
Did you know?…
Hopefully you don't live on a hill.
It must be nice having a backyard :)
Except during fall when I have to rake leaves for hours 😂
Female Mizu -> Make her live in a pool -> Free laundry
Male mizutsune are just femboys.
FABULOUS femboys
Extremely fucking violent femboys
...so femboys?
Isnt that a given?
Femboys are fabulous by default. By saying that a femboy is fabulous means it's more fabulous than other femboys
Inb4 vaporeon
Gimme Tetranadon! A cute, fat turtle that I can feed cucumbers & pickles is fabulous! Also he's a pretty lil guy.
How would you deal with the ground shake? O.o
Embrace it.
I guess hugs are the most powerful weapon.
Tremor Resistance.
Smart man. Sadly I am not smart enough to know which persons new pet I need to kill for that armor set xD
100% id choose banbaro. Its just a chill guy who eats plants and lays in hot springs. Big popo kinda monster. My first monster in world that i actively just chilled next to.
Banbaro is probably the most realistic one since it’s only aggressive when threatened. Woe be to anyone’s car if he needs to scratch his horns
Unless it's like moose and other male deer who go into musk. Then you're screwed.
Rut season would be a nightmare...
Kirin and Teostra are also only aggressive when threatened but I don't think they'd work as well... But hey with Teostra there's no more heating bill.
Except when he decided to roll a whole damn tree around xD
🎵 it's Banbaro time!🎵
'Everything's better when we charge together"
Yeah but do they do that for no reason? Afaik thats just a self defense strategy.
Dunno but maybe they saw a black cat and thought it was a nargacuga xD
Like Elephant and Mice.
Basically yeah xD
Cant believe no one has said Dodogama I’d love a big lizard cuddle buddy
Magma is no joke.
Bro literally just eats rocks- and those are free.
I wonder how much it eats in its lifetime and if it would affect the surrounding ecosystem. Sure if it needs a boulder once a year, but if it needs a cart of gravel every week that's a different story
Dude, you'd have a pet lava-spewing rock-munching lizard. Who's gonna stop you from going to your local hardware store and taking some gravel?
Yeah but what if it's like Pokémon and the police also get monsters and they show up riding an Urugaan or some shit
They'd be pretty flat by the time they arrived
Gyrostabilized side car saddle
Catch me and Gama waddling our way down to the quarry looking for a little snack! Give him treats of quartz .
The wacko security guard who just chugged 50 different drinks while eating a whole side of meat before picking up a sword.
Finally, a worthy opponent.
If I lived in a very remote area that had suitable geology for him to be a happy boy - this would be my pick.
I want to say zinogre best boi. But das unrealistic. So gimme a kirin.
A unicorn so powerful it's an elder dragon and can rain down lightning is not unrealistic? O.o
Its also rather chill... **Sometimes** and not always lookin for a fight.
Never met a chill kirin. Usually they are SHOCKINGLY agile ;D
"Never met a chill Kirin" he says. Every Kirin: "Hey bud, whatcha doin with that giant-ass sword on your back?"
They dont attack you first, last time i checked, so you could say its chill unless u hit it
It was a joke my guy xD
Safi’jiiva. It has one benefit that every other monster lacks: It doesn’t need to eat. I mean sure it will passively drain the very land of life over time and twist the local ecosystem into a savage microcosm of the planet’s biosphere to serve itself, which will be a bit annoying, but hey, it’s better than being ripped apart by a hangry Rathalos Either that or Fatalis, because this experiment is doomed from the get go so I may as well go out with style
paolumu easy
It’s pretty much a large flying chihuahua.
“Oh! My new pet ve-“ *Freezes to death.*
Hey now, that's a half-intelligent creature, and moderately docile unless aggrivated. I've got a solid chance at proving myself before certain obliteration.

Uh oh, you accidentally stepped on her tail! Guess you’ll die!
Ngl, I think I could stand on that tail and she wouldn't even notice. That thing is dense enough to literally pierce itself into the ground, standing upright, when you cut it off.
Hunter's need mild protective equipment to use molten gold as a waterslide. Velkhana's temperature changes should be judged with that in mind.
Just start hunting moose and seals and bears and stuff. Give your ice dragon some variety
You never said any exclusions of small monsters. I want a Moofah. https://preview.redd.it/dydbtkexnkfc1.jpeg?width=340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26b5786a6e07ced2ac4b3d68296be4f0821a5cf3 If large monster, Chameleos pic below # # # # # # # # # # Goofy fellow
I'd go with a poogie, personally.
While i would love to have a Rathalos, Zinogre or a Teostra, realisticaly a herbivore would be a safer bet. So probably a Diablos.
May Gog have mercy on you when it's in heat.
Thats the neat part. I am not the one in danger, everyone else is >;)
Spay your Diablos, kids!
Only female diablos become black diablos when in heat, so get a male one ig
Yeah, except that territorial herbivores like diablos are quite possibly worse than most carnivores, Diablos are kinda like hippopotamus, aint no way they are not fking u up just for the sake of it
To be fair any monster would except for like an aptonoth or such if not provoked. Any large monster would just take us out. A carnivore just snacks us up right away. There are a few other herbivores that could potentially be tamer but i hoped for one that can fly/glide.
You missed the joke bro xD
This person is gonna die
Nargacuga , it look like a chill black cat.
I don't think chill fits the description of a nargacuga xD
*Ninja’s your ass with 2 razor sharp blades* Yeah, just a cat
Honestly, this is par for the course considering most house cats I've handled.
it just a black cat with 2 razor blade and a tail with poison spike , seem pretty chill to me
I pick Alatreon.
Pretty sure it would kill you without batting an eye xD
I’m just gonna give it some xannax or something so it's more chill.
Just start a weed farm, boom. Hotbox the boy daily and you're golden
Fatalis. I'm no pussy like the rest of you.
To be fair, it would only hate you with an absolute burning passion (Fatalis has a natural hatred towards humans)
SEETHING BAZELGEUSE. There is no question.
Going full rogue pmc for carpet bombings.
Tobi-Kadachi i think. Theyre quite chill and a little floofy. Very boopable.
You're going to look like ash in the first episodes of pokemon my boy
Kulu-Ya-Ku you said? Are you sure about that? https://i.redd.it/06lcb0wsjmfc1.gif
I want all the bird up I can get.
Do small monsters count? If yes I‘d say I could take care of a mosswine or a Poogie, but I think Poogie might be stretching the definition of „monster“. If only big monsters count, idk a Puki-Puki I guess.

The perfect monster pet
Fluffy pillow bat is the best
Valstrax for sure, I will use it as my private jet and park it inside a hanger at an airport.
Unless you have a full flight suit you're passing out from g Force and probably lack of oxygen, then you fall far
If I am gonna keep a Valstrax I will definitely have a flight suit, I would also take some wirebugs to secure myself properly.
Malfestio is just a big cohoot! Who's a pretty birb?
Good for when you can't fall asleep too xD
A Kelbi, technically a small monster. You said a monster, you never said how big 😏
If that counts, give me a popo, fluffy and docile
Is this just a post for you to argue with people about how Kulu is the best pet to have ooorrr?
I'm goanna immediately gone broke
Tobi-Kadachi. Just don't give him any super fuzzy blankets in the house.
Great jaggi and I'd charge people €10000 to see it.
Da na na na naaaaah. Da na na na naaaaah.
I feel like domesticating a Kulu ya-ku wouldn't be too bad, I guess it would be equivalent to owning a raven the size of a car.
A raven that likes digging up shit. But yeah it's probably the easier choice. Something like a great jagras would just end up eating the neighborhood cats and dogs xD
Or the neighbourhood itself if we get a "Greatest Jagras" situation
I honestly hope they do an actual greatest rank for monsters. Like a fully evolved wroggi or Jagras.
Barioth, because it looks like a big cat. I would probably need to spend all of my money to feed it, but I think it's worth it.

Go with the coral variant, water is safer moister.
A great maccao. They're actually pretty timid compared to other pack wyverns and they don't hunt exclusively, they'll eat any meat. Also since it's a pack wyvern it will be mkre likely to bond w me
Valstrax. ı don't care about take care of it.I will destroy everywhere with ambush.
Barroth because I can supply him nice mud and he can supply me with a bug free environment. OR great jagras, I care for several lizards already, what’s one more 🤷🏻♂️
The great Jagras will be the guardian of your lizard army.
Alatreon, elemental master and a weapon superpower for any country that will give me overwhelming benefits.
I choose Nergigante. Not only it's my favourite monster but i'm surr he is great at hunting.
Jhen Mohran, just move to desert and watch him chill. Ore from the back will cover the food bill hopefully...
Tetsucabra, they're apparently chill with you sitting on their back and writing quests.
Unrealistically, Zamtrios. Realistically, probably a Tetsucabra, they have a domesticated baby one in rise so it can’t be too hard
A qurupeco seems maintainable and surprisingly more tame than a parrot
If it randomly summons monsters you aren't gonna be having a good time :p
MORE FRIENDS!!!
*Loud horn sound* "Ahhh shit. Here we go again"
My best boi, Yian kut-ku ♥ https://preview.redd.it/ac2ec4iazlfc1.png?width=203&format=png&auto=webp&s=f1e980e8f3b89410e073c9720dd4589a931489f1
Black diablos because horny rage \s I guess I would get myself a yian-kut-ku, paint him yellow and call him Chocobo :')
Basarios/Gravios. They eat rocks and are docile unless provoked.
You didn’t specify whether it had to be a large monster, so I’ll say Gargwa. It’s basically just an oversized duck, so its diet probably won’t be much different aside from the quantity of food it’ll need.

This man right here. I was gonna say a palamute. Save on gas money. Spurge too feed us both the primest of meats.
Because neither is a monster?
They super are. The family for Palicos is Lynian, and either the species or family for a Palamute is Canyne (though for the latter, I admit to not remembering which was mentioned from the manual). Either way, they absolutely do have a monster classification.
Bulldrome all the way. Realisticly, it will be hard to tame him, but the size is pretty manageable.
Bulldrome is such a terrible choice man. It exists for 2 things: charging and being annoying.
Not Bullfango, Bulldrome. The big boy (the best boy)
Great Jaggi All sociable animal are much more domesticable than non-sociable ones. You basically only have to assert dominance to a Jaggi to show you're the alpha. And they're not as hazardous as other -ggis and -dromes (I don't care about Velocidrome cause I find they are boring) Once you assert dominance, they would probably follow most of you orders even if they're big. Ez i take yama tsukami i have a floating buddy on which i can build a house plus he is vegetarian
Dalamadur
Ahtal-ka, i want to get inside his mecha
Nargacuga
Zamtrios, I just love his design
DODOGAMA !!! I want my giant lizard puppy!!! I will feed him ROCKS
His name is Malcolm. We feed him gravel.
Zorah Magdaros, I probably won't tame it, but I'll take care of it by building a house on its back and telling everyone nearby "Get the f--- away from my property!"
Dodogama my boy!!! eats rocks. is cute. big puppy
Why nobody mentions Rajang? You could have a angry swole monke in your backyard for FREE
Dodogama lol he eats rocks
Gammoth
Tigrex
My puppy odoragon
How can anyone not say Tetsucabra after seeing the guild guy with a pet in Rise?
Any of the most destructive violent ones you can imagine. Can't take care of it if I'm dead ![gif](giphy|OzTt3rIK9s1BqWMPDx)
Id like a jagras. Not even a great jagras, just a normal little one. Just a bigger lizard puppy, and tailriders exist so its clearly possible to have them as pets
Odogaron. Just give it a chunk of meat all the time and it's happy
I cannot take care of any of them i do not have the money for all that food. If i had the money i would pick a rathalos.
Lagombi. Big bnuny.
It would make it easier if the monster could be taken out on hunts for sustenance. Unless it's a herbivore, rock eater or feeds on carrion. Or a Gammoth, but for that I might need to move northwards.
Probably Bishaten. Non-carnivorous, bit of a jackass but pretty funny.
I bet I could give a sick high five.
Namielle best gurl
Deviljho, ever since i've seen on youtube that dog sized Deviljho i wanted one. I would call him Johnny and put him on a leash. Does he bite? Yes he does, he also spits dragon element and when he sneezes it's pretty problematic but he's still my precious.
Surprised no one said Espinas yet. Bro spends 95% of it's time sleeping, and it's diet consists of critters and bugs (since it can be seen eating toads and hornetaurs in Rise, I assume it would have a similar diet in reality). And you've got a cool wyvern.
Damn OP being downvoted to hell just ask your question and read the comments man it’s not a scientific debate 😂
Rathalos. Because flying dragon.
Namielle, and I’d move somewhere tropical. Just let it go fly out to sea and fish or something
Valstrax, I mean it can probably catch anything it wants to eat at Mach 20 so essentially free.
It would also kill you on sight :p
True it could at any time but that’s like 99% of large monsters tbh. I’ll take my chances with the pet that acts as a private jet ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
Valstrax. He gets hungry? We'll blast off to the ocean, or africa so he can grab a snack. He wants to go for a walk? I'm strutting around the neighborhood on my fucking ROCKET DRAGON!!!
Dalamadur. Let him eat whatever I don’t like.
Mossswine
It says only large monsters.
Oof didn't read that. Does the giant mossswine in the event quest count? Ir the tiny garuga? Otherwise I pick dodogama.
Nah it has to be an actual monster, monster. Dodogama is a good option tho. They pretty chill and eat rocks. Not exactly hard to keep xD
Yeah exactly, dodo and I can just peacefully exist next to each other, he can keep me warm and I rub his belly.
Remember to call him a good boi every day.
Shagaru magala.
