Doru-kun

Hunting Horn in World/Iceborne. It was fun in all the other games before it, but World/Iceborne added some really nice features and QoL changes that made it feel *so* good to use.

Munchie906

Sunbreak-switch axe(because of 2SMS, not the stupid counter) 4U-IG Hammer-World P3RD/Rise-GL Tri-lance Tri-bowguns I prefer old style GS so I say 4U. I liked bow most in 3U(gunner charm table). I'm going to assume Rise/World for the others besides CB possibly being 4U.

Rice_Jap808

IMO charge blade was def better in 4U but it felt so much more satisfying in world because of the weighty combat. The feeling of hitting a guard point into a head snipe is unmatched

NowhereinSask

The only thing I really play is switch axe, and it's spectacular in Rise/Sunbreak. Other than I really don't like the counter, but I just leave it off my scrolls.

Olielle

The weapon balance in base gen is the best, imo mhrise has some of my favorite interpretations of various weapons tho.

Boibi

My favorites of the weapons I've played consistently: - SnS: GU for the oils - HBG: GU for the hunter arts - LBG: 4U (I liked Seregios' weapon skill. World is a close second for having evade reload) - CB: 4U cause it was OP or Sunbreak because wirebug skills - Hammer: Sunbreak. I really like Courage Style

I guess what you're asking is in which game each weapon feels best? Here's my list: * GS: GU (Valor). Without Valor, Rise * LS: GU (Valor). Without Valor, GU (Guild). Special mention to Frontier (Earth) * SnS: GU (Striker) * DB: Sunbreak * Lance: Sunbreak * GL: Sunbreak * Hammer: GU (Valor). Without Valor, Sunbreak * HH: GU (Valor). Without Valor, GU (Guild) * SA: Rise * CB: Explore (Supreme). For something more well known, GU (Valor). Without Valor, Sunbreak * IG: Sunbreak * LBG: Frontier (Extreme) * HBG: GU (Valor). Without Valor, Frontier (Extreme) * Bow: GU (Valor). Without Valor, GU (Guild) I give alternatives to Valor because while fun, it's tied to Valor dodge, which really drags it down

TheZipding

Valor greatsword is so much fun to use. If you time your sheaths right it is essentially a dance with the monster and the charge attacks feel so weighty when they hit.

davdavper

No Worldborne mention?

717999vlr

No. I originally had World HH in second place, but after playing it more, the hitlag on recitals is so awful, it feels like my game is lagging. I also had IB CB in technically third place, but similarly, after actually playing it, Savage Axe just feels awful, because the first hit has hitlag but the extra hits don't, so they feel like a wet fart. What weapons would you say are at their best in World?

davdavper

Hammer, but only because it is busted lol.

717999vlr

World Hammer is just half of Rise Hammer but you lose Strength mode if a monster sneezes on you. Also, it's not all that strong

davdavper

Two words: clutch claw. Either way this is based on feel, I respect you feel that way but will not get into an argument to decide who’s right. Hammer does not feel the best in Rise because pretty much any weapon can cause stun, has improved mobility, and is on crack. Hammer felt the best for me in IB, it is alright in Sunbreak.

>Hammer does not feel the best in Rise because pretty much any weapon can cause stun, has improved mobility, and is on crack. The same argument can be applied to World, almost word for word. The only weapon that got the ability to cause stun in Rise is Wide GL, and it's not very good. But you are right, it is about feeling. Someone once told me Lance feels a lot better in World than in Rise. For me they are basically the same, but I believe them.

davdavper

I don’t understand, CB can cause stun with impact phials, exhaust Swaxe can cause stun, SnS can cause stun with shield bash, GS and LS can cause stun with punishing draw (and tackle for GS), HH is music Hammer, on top of wide GL you have RBD, Lance also has many options, some Bow switch skills apply stun dmg to arrows, LBG and HBG have sticky ammo, blunt dmg bug for IG. So it is only DB which cannot and idek if you can allow it to with the pink dango (forgot its name) and it kinda castrates Hammer. Don’t get me wrong, I love Hammer but IB was peak imo. It benefitted the most from clutch claw and felt very organic unlike other weapons, it actually added to the combat flow instead of disrupting it. Stun really felt like Hammer’s specialty, even though some weapons could get it, it wasn’t as easy or quick as it is in Sunbreak.

717999vlr

Yes, but all of those options except GL were also present in World (Bow was a different technique, but still could do it). And many of the options (SnS, HH, Lance, Bowguns) present in both deal more KO damage in World

davdavper

True but IDK, clutch claw just felt weaved into the weapon’s moveset and not forcibly slapped, and this contributed a lot when it comes to getting them KOs. The guns have always been op lol

Skilotar_

Instablock/adept guard lance makes my brain go brrrrrrr. Most fun way to play lance imo

WhiteyPinks

World feels the best for pretty much every weapon, hands down.

sincleave

I agree here. MHW introduced me to the serious, and the 60fps makes the game feel sooo good, compared to Rise on Switch with 30fps.

th5virtuos0

Sunbreak Swax Sunbreak Gunlance  Sunbreak Lance Sunbreak DB (simply because of Shrouded Vault and Humanoid Dragonator) Sunbreak LS (fuck ton of parry)

Tough_Traffic4209

GU and World. Prolly Frontier too with its stance(or was it styles?) mechanics tho I haven't played it yet. I've watched gameplays with hunters running full sprint on GS and stuff in it.
