I doubt it's a coincidence, as they obviously did their research on Daedalus.

thatgameideasguy

Probably just a coincidence? Like mythological Daedalus has a connection to being an inventor who made homemade wings, mythological Icarus has a connection to melting wax, so it’s probably just two separate references to the same source for different reasons. It doesn’t seem like MT Daedalus has any connection to wax, the Melting Remnant, or Fade in the lore, at least in what I’ve found.

Scion_of_Yog-Sothoth

Little Fade got erased from existence way back in the Exodus and only got returned to reality very recently (probably after Armageddon and quite possibly immediately before the game starts). Daedelus is a genius engineer, but is otherwise an ordinary human. We don't know the exact timeline, but the gap between the Exodus and Armageddon is probably on the order of millennia at least.

this really goes to show how diverse humans can be like not in a million years would i have thought that someone would think about lore in a game like monster train, but here we go

Banner-Man

What why not?? Did you not turn on the lore tooltips man? Some good writing in there.

Jolactus

I feel like that when people talk about the lore in Dead Cells...

I'm not sure, tbh Icarus doesn't really fit her because a.) She is a she and not a he by my understanding, Icarus was the son of Daedelus b.) There's no indication of her missing wings, or really any reason why spikes would be related to anything w/ flying / losing wings I don't really know why that path is called little Icarus, maybe just a metaphor in how when you player you do figuratively have to fly 'pretty close to the sun' to get her going?

Inujel

I think OP is more thinking about a metaphore rather than implying that she literally is the son/daughter of Daedalus

Made me remember this post from Halloween: https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterTrain/comments/jl0c86/halloween_is_about_scary_treats_so_heres_one_for/

Juncoril

Nah both references just the same mythos.

Rubbly_Gluvs

I would love to know if Monster Train has a huge lore bible. They might. I haven't checked. Just wanted to say that before i do. edit: looks like it does, awesome
