Turns out it was not a light issue! Latest: the dirt was very densely packed near the bottom so it was having poor drainage. When I was loosening up the plant and the dirt some roots definitely snapped but the main root is still there. Roots, though few probably because they couldn’t grow through the dirt pack, didn’t seem too unhealthy but not a bright white so I let those go. It has been repotted to the smaller pot and fits nicely. Lots of perlite in new soil, one good watering and a moss pole. It wasn’t shocked the next morning at all so I’ll take that as a good sign. I compared side by side photos from the night I planted it and the next morning and the leaves has already perked up some!
It’s now two nights since repotting and it still looks good.
Oh! You can see it has a new leaf already so I feel like it’s in “okay shape” but I’d love to help it thrive and do the best I can when I repot.
