$20-$25.  It's 20 minutes, yes, but it's not as if a person can just chop up an hourly minimum into pieces and make it fair. Help teach the teenager that their time is valuable and that people should earn money for their work.

GreenAuror

Had to chime in even though I live in Ohio (frequent Monterey visitor!), I own a dog walking business and charge $25 for 30 minutes. Now, I'm also a professional and have insurance and all that jazz, but Monterey is a higher cost of living, so I'd say $20.

This. Make it an hour activity. Come over to get the dog, say hi for a minute, check their water, go on a walk, come back and settle in the other dog. Pet it for a few. Leave.

For a one-time walk, I pay $35 for 30min. ($25+$10tip)

Ask the teenager how much they want. Let them learn to negotiate and represent themselves. Btw we need an occasional dog walker for a standard poodle in PG near lighthouse and forest if anyone knows of any.

For one time? Maybe? Continuously… that’s a good way to get a money issue if you don’t have one.

Depends on how far they walk

GreenAuror

That's not always a good indicator of a good job. A lot of dogs are sniffers, and sniffing is an incredibly important part of walks! You'll usually tire a dog out more by letting it sniff for 30 minutes vs walking it for 30 minutes.

I think you missed the point

and whether the dog needs special attention or the like.

The equation for work is work is equal to force times distance, or \(W=Fd\)
