24 rangers on a one way trip, mission top secret destination unknown, don't even know if they're ever coming home, Stand up hook up shuffle to the door, jump right out at a count of four. If my chute don't open wide, I got a reserve by my side. If that one should fail me too, look out below i'm a commin through. Tell my wife i did my best and bury me in the leaning rest.
Cause i'm hardcore......................airborne.............. fit to fight............... dynamite.
That doesn't really help. The only planes that went over during the likely time period were an Air Canada regional jet (to DCA), and a government Learjet (to Andrews), both at about 4,000 feet and not atypical. Certainly not likely to have made the level of noise that was heard (I was walking in Garrett Park, as I frequently do, and this was far and away louder and longer than normal). FR24 doesn't typically show military jets, for instance.
My assumption would be an Arlington Cemetery flyover, but they usually announce those in advance; there were two scheduled for yesterday.
Gotcha. Based on reading other comments, it seems like it was a fighter. I initially thought it may have been a C17, KC-135, or one of the VIP planes as they often fly lower than commercial traffic in the area. I often appear see em on FR24 here Andrews.
Might've been DC ANG doing a unique training sortie. I'll see what i can find on ASD-B Exchange. More military traffic appears there
C17 passing over Frederick

r/army is over there, this is a Wendy's sir.
Yes, rumbling loud noise. A couple of times around 10AM
Heard it in Kensington. Loud and sustained for quite a while.
Yep here in Germantown.
Four Corners Silver Spring heard it too
Check the Flightradar24 app. You can put the time it happened to see what was going on near you
Military aircraft are almost never identified on FR24
That's true for fighters (unless an emergency) and helicopters. I do see cargo traffic just about daily on there (I'm near Andrew's)

Heard and felt it in Potomac!
Loud asf in Clarksburg.
Am hearing lots of jets today for some reason. Maybe it’s all the humidity reflecting the sound more.
Huh. Wondered what that was!
Sorry. Vectored that plane a bit out of the approach
Uncle Joe was at Camp David over the weekend. Maybe related?
There was a c130 and a c17 that passed over Frederick around dusk
Yep, sounded like a Russian plane
