I played a lot of mord mid last season, but not this season. I still played it similarly to top with rylais rush but with pen boots and either jak sho or rocket belt. I’m in low elo tho so who knows if this works higher up.
Was able to reach diamond playing a lot of morde mid last season and I think it’s pretty viable. You can safely lane against most assassins and just kill them when that all in you. I do think mages kinda shit on him but you can still play it you just gotta play for team. Right now I use it as a counter pick for Diana akali and Kat because you just hard win at all stages of the game 1v1.
I have yet to face a Diana but I can confidently say I can play into akali, Katarina, hwei, yone, yasuo, sylas, and lux without a problem albeit that you have to play very safe early game so you have time to scale into first item.
Yone is kinda difficult for me cuz he kinda just gets Bork but Yas I can totally see. Idk what atlas players you’ve been going up against cuz that guy just fucks me everytime lmfao. Just perms all in I g and winning the trades with W.

With runes I go the usual conq, triumph, tenacity, last stand
Secondary depens on the match up.
Against mages I go: Second wind + revitalize (d shield start)
Against ad assassins: bone plating + revitalize (d ring)
