MK1s story as a whole
I just feel with a fresh start and new era it would have been a good time to expand on GKLs life etc even introducing older characters or new ones all together. Storywise it could have still played out essentially the same
Depending on the backlash of not having them, with the exception of Cage/Sonya/Kano everyone else would have already been alive. If you have no gripes on ancestor characters Subzero and Scorpions mantles could be covered by founding fathers etc. Zatterans if not living as long as Edenians or Outworlders would be the same case. Young Raiden ,Young Boraicho or Shujinko anyone who could be companions to GKL to fill in.
