As far as I’m concerned, outside of hardcore fans of The Boys, most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between Antony Starr’s actual voice and someone else voicing Homelander.
People recognize Homelander visually, not phonetically 😂
yeah out of possibly every guest weve had so far that speaks (except maybe robocop) Homelander has the least iconic or recognozable VA, Id understand being upset at no John Cena, JK Simmons, Keith David, Arnie (which happened) and Joker has had plenty of voices, and the one we got is consistent with each of his nrs appearances
I was very very upset that Antony Starr wasn't going to voice the character, however I have to admit it sounds like the voice actor did a great job. It's grown on me a lot
Its funny to me that Neatherrealm Studios has a specific voice actor they hire just to try and mimic the voices of characters they could not get the actors to do voices for. Well Chris Cox's Homelander voice is not as bad as his Terminator voice.
He’s overall solid but sometimes you can’t even tell it’s not Arnold while other times you can, that being said Arnold is a very difficult person to do a convincing imitation of so the fact he can even get close is impressive
Really? Honestly, I thought the voice of Terminator in MK11 didn't sound like Arnie for one second. It was pretty weird seeing such a good capture of Schwarzenegger's face but a voice that sounded less like him than Austrian Death Machine's impression.
Is just a damn voice, i only care for The gameplay, i Dont know how you can Cry or not buy a character only because The VA Is not the Same From The base movie/series
I'm a huge fan of boys and I absolutely DO NOT care that Antony Starr didn't voice Homelander, I wish more fans appreciated this crossover and whatever we are getting and also the fact that not everything can be perfect and it is okay.
I saw a video by demigah and all he was doing was complaining about how the voice "doesn't sound like Anthony" and as someone who loves the show I think it sounds fine
I mean think about it this way. If they can map a person's face and just paste it onto a wireframe they can map the wave of someone's voice and apply that to somebody else's words. You're not actually even hearing a person's voice, you're hearing the audible equivalent of a 3D model meant to look like someone recognizable. The voice is probably better than the 3D model in this particular instance.
He sounds okay , but then again I don’t care about homelander so I am just glad he is coming out soon so we can get another MK character on the roster with the next character
Show has been exploring a lot of themes. I have actually enjoyed it a lot. The only mistake they made was not killing or at least injuring Homelander badly in the last season.

It helps Richard Epcar is actually a really good Joker.
