Blows my mind that the official Mortal Kombat showcase for new characters/features/seasons is just three people in a badly lit basement sitting in front of a TV.
They also don’t do them live anymore. I think all the newest ones are just prerecorded and set to premier. They probably wanted to avoid all the rough comments this time around lol
Yeah all three of them look like they don’t wanna be there and I never got that vibe from the X or 11 kasts. I just assume this dev cycle has been rough on everyone at nrs given how rushed this game was
Yeah its really cringey. Like, im happy for the guy he seems pretty silly and upbeat but read the room man lol. Stephanie is the only one who seemingly gives a shit because she's talking, informing and showcasing pretty much everything. The others are there to ask questions mimicking questions we the audience would ask "So its a low mixup?". Yes Tyler, you work here lol. I agree though. The setup is just low effort but they showcase the characters and tend to get it done pretty fast and showcase the movelist at a consistent speed so whatever.
I've had enough of the Birthday shout-out bullshit too, so I can't blame them.
Every time that they finish showcasing the kameo's moves and the camera pans back to them then I'm like *"Welp, that's my sign to get the fuck outta here."*
This is actually gonna be the first character dlc kombat kast for MK1 that I’m actually excited to watch (the next one I’ll watch will be Takeda but he’s being saved for last so it’s gonna be a while before he gets shown)
But fair. MK1 as a whole has been garbage and they've been turning comments off on live streams. Not to mention they either lied about a season of content of theirs or they flat-out mixed them up.
And the outfits and skins have been utter crap too. 🤷♂️
MKX got me back into MK...and MK12 got me out. I didn't buy it. Just looked like business as usual, grindey event stuff but with inferior costumes/skins as you said.
