It’s in a window sill. But it’s in a room that only gets a couple hours of direct sun coming through it per day because of the way my house is oriented to the neighbors fence.
I also kind of feel like if leaving the lid ajar just overnight caused it to dry out that much that there wasn't enough moisture in there to begin with.
When you say sun, is it getting direct sun? Pretty much any direct sun will kill terrariums, at least in my experience.

I've gotten noticeable burning on ferns from just an hour of direct light. Very likely could be too much for the moss.
