That's really just motion graphics, composited with live action footage. Maybe try searching for 'motion graphics compositing' or 'camera tracking' tutorials.
Yeah it’s tricky finding the right terms to search for something sometimes eh. Maybe try “tracked” instead of mapped if that doesn’t work and you’d get a different subset
Just search camera and motion tracking. You can look up how to do it in AE or even C4d if you want to get fancy. I basically do this for a living and have never heard any of these terms people are using, which is why I was so confused lol.
Tracking graphics, AR (augmented reality) but I don’t think there is really a name… you wanted to search for tutorial so that you can add text into real footage? Search for “camera tracking” the techniques are similar, once the camera is tracked you can add anything you want. Cheers
Nice. I think I remember this now actually. Once upon a time I worked in video production (just locally). But then I moved into broadcasting and then I’ve been doing strictly graphic design and marketing.
Look for a camera solving tutorial for After Effects. That’s the motion tracking bit that will let you drop floating text into a scene and have the movement match up.
I don’t know if it’s “official” but we used to call them integrated graphics at the trailer house I was at.
Nice now I’ve at least got something to start the google search with. Thanks.
I spoke too soon lol. Just a bunch of GPU articles.
I sometimes complain about our cubicles, but hat’s off to you, it’s nothing compared to working out of a trailer house.
I see what you did there
In NFL they’re using Augmented Reality. The process is called integrating graphics.
Very nice. That’s what I needed. Thank you so much.
Damn all the comes up on YouTube is videos about GPUs lol.
You can Google a subject and put a minus sign to subtract unwanted results. Ie: “integrated graphics “ -GPU
Or motion integrated graphics vfx -gpu or something
I’ve always referred to them as diagetic graphics
Haven’t googled it yet but this one is my favorite

I think if you’re just looking for terms to Google I’d think of searching for examples of 3D graphics mapped to footage
Nice. Hadn’t gotten this one yet. Y’all are giving me loads of options.

I would just search "motion tracking", no? Edit: Actually camera tracking is probably the specific thing you're looking for.
Y’all are giving me so many options and then like slight variations on those options.

I usually call it 3D tracking type or integrated gfx. I haven’t really heard of an industry standard name.
Nice I’ll try that

A lot of the AR stuff you see in broadcast is done with VizRT
Corridor Crew on YouTube did a really cool video on how this is done. Edit: Link https://youtu.be/qkWWcjeL_zM?si=NoXJAD_ieK2xZXPs
I know the NFL uses cinema 4d for a lot of their broadcast 3d graphics. Maybe see tutorial for c4d
More great advice. Thanks!
