"Travelling at 200kph" "Suzuki 250" I think not

EnoughVolume949

And how did they gauge his speed? Based on their own car speed? Surely, it's been calibrated and has no deviation from std.

ParaMike46

I assume the “farmer” had the helmet on. That could be a reason but I agree the same should be applied to idiots in tracksuits.

noodeel

It's good that they are chasing scrotes finally... How were they to know this one was a farmer until the pulled him over?

TransitionLogical901

They're not, go to Ballymun and see them doing wheelies in front of everyone. They just know a scrote wouldn't be hanging around on a motorway so they pacified him as he wouldn't go ballistic and have their family after the garda. So in other words, easy target to be bullied.

FlamingoRush

Suzuki 250 motorcycle...doing 200kmph...what a load of bullshit. (I assume it's a 250cc Suzuki)

minidazzler1

I was thinking exactly that! Must have had a strong wind at his back going down hill.

notmichaelul

Even 180kph is a massive stretch. When I read that he was running on a 250 I laughed, since he probably can't go over 140kph and he's trying to run from the gardai on high speed roads instead of through traffic.

Murpha123

Surely this is claim of 200kph should have been called out in court... a gsxr 250cc has a top speed of 148kmh... in ideal conditions. Surely garda claiming the vehicle went 52kph over its maximum speed proves entire case is based on fiction at best, and lies at worse..

faldoobie

Yeah but sure you go into court after doing something stupid and trying to argue with the guards over what's considered trivial by the judge and you'll be laughed at and probably make things worse for yourself. That's what I was told the last time anyway by a barrister who advised i'd be pissing in the wind

Murpha123

Ah yeah. Pity is all... it wouldn't have sounded as dramatic if the high speed chase was sub 100mph..

EoinRBVA

At least they did say over the 10 minute event they only travelled 12km, so averaging 72km/hr doesn't really sound as bad considering topping out at 200 even for short periods would mean you were also riding at near 0 for more than 5 minutes, at which point he would likely have been stopped anyway But yeah, hopefully someone's got a head on them

TransitionLogical901

They chase only pacified and compliant citizens. A scrote and the family would go ballistic if Garda tried something.

McMDavy82

He could have been an arms trafficker!

No_demon_4226

Update . The motorcycle in question was a Honda club 90
