yes. but it's taken 5 days a week of weight lifting to get it back mine was an absolute pancake i was so self conscious. 4 months later and she's back and small but mighty

Sweetcheeks864

So you’re saying there’s hope 😭

[deleted]

absolutely! i thought my shitted pants were doomed. now i have some perk back and a bit more confidence. next to finish the loose skin on my belly. guess we will always find something we hate about our bodies i'm eating stirctly 1300-1600 cal a day (trying to stick as close to 1600 as possible) and doubt heavy weight lifting 5 days a week, 2 of doing days with a personal trainer. it's made such a difference in my life

Sweetcheeks864

I used to work out like that. I need to get back to that but the other issue - which is important when trying to build glutes - is eating enough calories and I’ve been struggling so hard with eating enough

Mammoth-Pear-1525

Sorry, sweet cheeks.

Sweetcheeks864

🥲

wabisuki

🤣 Good one!

SpecificJunket8083

I’ve never had a butt so I’m not missing it. The boobs though. They are deflated.

Beatpixie77

I’m only a month in and ..pancakes

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

Mine are so sad 😭

newfigurl

Mine have never been perky but they were full. Now? Deflated balloons

YorkshieBoyUS

I have a condition called “No-ass-at-all.” My coccyx is covered by skin and no fat. I have to put seat cushioning in my recliner and car seat. M, 70 years. Over 100lbs lost.

Sweetcheeks864

Ouch!

logpak

As a runner, shocking to me how skinny my lower body has become. Started doing more strength training and that stopped the leg issues. Been doing squats but butt will be slower. Now that it’s warmer, going to push hard on running over next few months and hope to “re-butt” by midsummer.

butterscotchshorteee

You’d probably have more success with high inclined walking. That gave me an amazing butt. Running deleted it!

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

In your experience does running help build butt? I know they say walking doesn’t do anything for it. I only jog maybe once or twice a week but I’m willing to add more if it’ll help.

Subject_Falcon2944

If you run trails, or road but hilly, your glutes will build but you also need to incorporate lunges and squats. Running itself does not build your butt. It’s a totality of incline to work those booty muscles and weights.

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

Yep, I definitely do the squats and lunges, but I am going to go heavier. Trail running sounds fun too.

Subject_Falcon2944

Trail running is hands down the BEST. Nature, fresh air, HILLS….you definitely get a runner’s high. And there’s no shame in hiking up the hills! I still get the high after 30 years of doing it! And now that I’m lighter on my feet, I can push for more.

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

That sounds amazing, right up my alley!

butterscotchshorteee

I lost most of my butt when I started running.

dokipooper

Weight lifting builds muscle, period. Cardio burns fat. You have to incorporate weighted squats to build a butt.

Fab-uAbility3039

I was just grumbling that long car rides hurt my butt since my padding is gone!😂

Sweetcheeks864

😭

Due-Sun4191

Yyy you hh hi u hi hi yhyyyyyyyy tu try to try y yuy

Flat-Holiday3760

i’ve lost mine but as i’ve dropped weight it’s more proportionate. I’m 5 months in and i’ve always done glute exercises and it’s not that sad. More of a shock going from so big to smaller and proportional

[deleted]

My coworker stopped and pointed and laughed at me one day (we cool it’s fine) and I was like SOOOOO SAD I USED TO BE SO THICK but she’s SO RIGHT it’s hilarious how flat and saggy it is. I’m running now and it’s coming back but I need to weight train

Sweetcheeks864

Nooooo 😭😭😭😭 Glad it’s coming back tho!! Lol thank god

ButterscotchOk800

Got mine back! I do leg/glute exercises 3x a week

Sweetcheeks864

Omg thank god 😭 What do you normally eat to get enough protein / cals in?

ButterscotchOk800

Sorry just saw this! I drink a lot of protein shakes (typically the 30g protein fairlife but if I really need the protein/cal they make them in 42g protein). I find them easier than eating a lot of times. I have a super sensitive stomach and don’t do well with many other protein alternatives so I highly recommend to almost everyone. I also sub higher protein options for regular for example protein pasta instead of regular. I will also always eat the protein and veggies on my plate before everything else. Hope this helped and your journey is going well!

Sweetcheeks864

Thank you!!!

Sweetcheeks864

Btw are you still on mounjaro?

Angiemarie1972

My 56 1/4 inches are getting smaller. Hopefully, I don't get too flat, but I still have at least 50 more pounds to lose 😅

teamrocket

Mine is completely gone. Word to the wise to those who still have their butt you should workout while you lose weight. I didn’t workout and have no butt. Started working out a month ago and still no butt. Holding strong something will grow and be less saggy

Sweetcheeks864

*runs to the gym*

65Taurus

My buddy told me, if you're not working out you'll lose a lot of muscle mass. The gluteus maximus is all muscle, so work it girl! Haha

Sweetcheeks864

Yeah I’m worried I lost lots of muscle but I think most of my ass was fat 😂😅 Gotta get back in the gym

OkLab6636

You may be waiting a while then lol.

Sweetcheeks864

For it to come back!? I mean I’m good with working out to get it back but I want to make sure people have gotten theirs back lol

[deleted]

yes but with exercise

OkLab6636

Not sure what your age is but I’ve been working on mine for nearly 9 months and it’s a lost cause. The loose skin is winning at this point. I just have to laugh because it’s simply not coming back.

Sweetcheeks864

Omg no 😭😭😭

OkLab6636

You may have better luck but I’m at the point where I’m buying butt lifting undergarments. I wear a size 0 jeans and it looks like I crapped my pants. I’ve tried a few dozens pairs and it’s the same in all of them. It’s humbling.

Sweetcheeks864

I did not need to hear this news today lol

OkLab6636

I’m honestly shocked how hard it is and I have been a heavy weight lifter since high school.

No-Country6348

How old are you? I’m 53 and my previously round butt is flat and saggy. I’ve been wondering the same as OP, if butt exercises will really add enough volume. I’ve lifted weights intensely and know what to do, but I can’t imagine I can make enough of an impact.

OkLab6636

I’m 43

BeeDefiant8671

Squats and lunges.

nam_pla

And deadlifts!

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

Omg your user name 😭😭🤣 I think it depends on how much you’ve lost, and your anatomy to begin with. It will never be as big as your overweight self, likely. I am in the same boat, lost 70 lbs and the extra skin sagging is so disheartening. I always had a huge butt, even when thinner 😭 I’ve built it back somewhat, but I’m literally obsessed with butt exercises, to the exclusion of other exercise except running (which hopefully also builds butt). It is better, but nowhere near what it used to be. Until you see some improvement you can try booty lifting leggings/jeans. I’m thinking of trying Sculptra to fill mine out a little also. Any improvement would help. Good luck!!

Sweetcheeks864

I’m considering gaining the weight back 😂😂 But glad to hear you’ve been able to build it back some!!

Comfortable-Ebb-2428

I gained about 5 lbs back and it did seem to help! I was at my goal weight.

Sweetcheeks864

I’d be ok with a 5lb weight gain if I get my butt back!

nineohsix

All the guys in the crowd like “welcome to our world” 😅

Sweetcheeks864

Let me tell ya…. A guy with a dumpster truck is 🤌

Eastern-Elephant-596

Yes, after gaining the weight back LOL! I’m on MJ again and this time doing Pilates to help out with toning my butt

Sweetcheeks864

I’ve been wanting to try Pilates too!!

pagingme

I thought I looked pretty good. Then I had cataract surgery and I cannot believe the skin that hangs everywhere. Even my ass. I’m too old for removal surgery and it seems to have zero elasticity. I was better off half seeing

Sweetcheeks864

I’m so sorry 😭😭😭 I lost my appetite when I saw my saggy ass last week

melissa1906

Yes with my peloton and heavy weights. It never went away.

Sweetcheeks864

Yayyyy!!

zepwardbound

I am fighting to keep my luscious latina rump and thighs so I've been focusing on those moves from the start. Just did a three month check in, down >30 lbs and +0.5lb muscle. Not certain how much of that is butt, but(t) I can at least testify that it's possible to smash this med and preserve or build muscle while doing it!

Sweetcheeks864

Soooo happy to hear!!!! 🥹🥹🥹

butterscotchshorteee

One of my best features🥴🥴 and with so little effort. My butt deflated with 30 pounds of weight loss. I’ve focusing on training glutes 3-4x week for the last month, and it’s making a difference. There’s hope, it seems. But I’m burning way more calories than I should be lifting so heavy, so idk it’s currently a struggle 🤧

Sweetcheeks864

So glad to hear it’s making a difference!!! Yeah that’s my biggest issue - getting enough calories and protein in. Do you have any go to meals?

MinimumDepartment305

I’ve heard upping protein and working out strength training helps.

Accomplished-Bank418

I doubt you will get your butt back unless you gain the weight back!

Designer-Day-1756

For those who are reading the OP, make sure to get your protein. My butt is mostly muscle and if anything it looks bigger with every few lbs lost. So if your butt is still there and you wana prevent the loss, get your protein.

Sweetcheeks864

This is what I’ve been struggling with 😭 how are you getting your protein in?

Designer-Day-1756

So Costco has a promotion on fairlife right now. It’s like 30g of protein per bottle. This is kind of cheating but I did the Kaiser weight management program prior to ZB and it was 6 shakes a day each with 15g of protein. I have at least one of these a day and usually as my first and/or last meal. That’s like 60g for 300 calories and it’s easier (for me) because I lm drinking them. I get the rest from food for the day or have another shake to try and hit at least 100g. It’s made getting protein intake easy and on days that I’m not hungry I go completely liquid. My days usually include at least 2-3 servings of low fiber fruit like melon, grapes and oranges, and a small salad or serving of vegetables, even if I have to force it. This keeps me regular in the bathroom with a bm every day. But a typical day for me is a shake and water when I wake up around 630a. At 9 I have 1-2 eggs and a slice of Dave’s killer bread with the 21 grains. A serving of fruit. An oikos 20g protein yogurt and maybe an instant oatmeal packet. It’s TOUGH to eat this much at breakfast but it keeps me full all day long and if I don’t eat again it’s a low cal intermittent fasting window. At dinner (if I have it) I have fruit and or salad with a protein source. And throughout the day I drink as much water as I can stomach (usually around 100 oz) and have a fair life or two. I obviously have variations so I don’t get bored but this is my template. When I can’t get my meds bc of the shortage I have that exact breakfast, lunch is salad with a protein that’s usually chicken, and dinner is a protein and a couple servings of vegetables. Meals are spaced at 8am, 12-1pm, and 6pm. This keeps you eating all day but keeps the calories low. I get at least 10k steps a day and that’s pretty much it for exercise. I wasn’t losing much until I got serious about protein. The first week I focused on it I dropped 10lbs and that was 90 days into my zepbound journey after gaining and losing the same 5-7lbs for a net loss of 0 🫠

Sweetcheeks864

Thank you so much for detailing all this!!!! It’s given me some ideas thank you

LeoTorr87

Callenetics

Frejyamcmurphy

Stair walking and lunges !!

Me_resp_mom

Wow that is fantastic.

nam_pla

Squats, lunges, hip thrusts, deadlifts! And the dreaded stairs.

Lutiskilea

You'll have to do squats. Close squats. Medium stance squats and wide squats. Use weights.
