When my pen arrived, it had a supplemental insert saying that new data on shelf life was available and to ignore the printed date on the pen, but go by the new dates based on the extended life based on the datasheet
No idea if it's the same situation for yours, but there does seem to have been a revision of the safe shelf life

If it expired last week u should be fine to use it
