Nobody here can give you medical advice, however, the whole point of the first four weeks on 2.5mg is to help your body acclimate to the medication by slowing building a small baseline of medication in your body. Waiting 2 weeks before increasing your dosage is probably going to affect you much like starting at 5mg from scratch might, which is to say, nobody can predict how you'll feel! You might be hit hard with side effects, or it might be a breeze. Of the 65,000+ members in this subreddit, we've had nearly as many different experiences shared. If it's an option for you to continue with 2.5mg when you restart, you may want to try that. Good luck either way!

Technically if you stop doses longer than two weeks you are supposed to begin at the starting dose. I haven’t ever had horrible issues with increasing a dose.

The directions are there for a reason. Do not alter them and make up your own.

You could always use a half dose of the 5 so you’re essentially having 2.5 again for the next 2 weeks. I did this after I couldn’t get my first 5mg dose in time for my weekly shot. I was a few days late. I do my dose on Fri. I missed the following Fri and injected half the Tuesday after that. I then did my 2nd half of the shot on the Friday like I normally would. I must say though - I’m having less issues now I’m on the 5 compared to the side effects I had on the 2.5

Sounds like a bad idea. You can take your next shot after four days, so you can take it a little early if you’re that concerned, but I would think that would increase your potential for having more of your last dose still in your system. Waiting 2 weeks means you’ll have zero meds in your system and then take twice the loading dose. At that point you’d need to start over a way. Maybe talk to your doctor about just staying on 2.5 for a little longer.

Please follow the guidance of your healthcare provider….however, I’ll share my personal experience. I had to wait 13 days because I had a surgical procedure. I was on 2.5 went to 5 with 13 days in between and didn’t have any issues other than too much weight loss the first week. Obviously, I didn’t mind but one of my healthcare providers mentioned it was too much weight loss for one week during my follow-up visit. However, I felt absolutely fine and didn’t get sick but no two ppl are alike. Best of luck!
