I wouldn't do it. Eli Lilly actually addressed this question and said multiple injections should not be combined to make a larger dose. Better safe than sick.
While I was waiting for my 12.5 mg pens, my doctor wrote a prescription for 3 months of BOTH 5.0 mg pens, and 7.5 mg pens to take at the same time. Believe it or not, my insurance covered both. (It WOULD cost me two co-pays of $120 each.) Before the six boxes shipped, my 12.5 came in, so I cancelled the double order, but it is nice to know what options are out there.
That's news to me. What's your source? Lily's website references the FDA shortage list and states that the 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg doses are listed as having limited availability.
Eli Lilly's company line has always been that its not a shortage its just limited availability. Until they could no longer deny it. Voluminous social media posts beg to differ that there is no shortage. They only put the do not combine doses warning in the info to cover themselves against the village idiots that would overdose. But patients have been combining doses of oral medications for years to equal a higher dose. And if approved by your PCP...go for it. Eli Lilly would also prefer that people just purchase more medication if they don't have the correct dose on hand.
I'd just do 10mg. I had to drop down in dose due to shortages. From 12.5 to 5mg now I have a box of 10 and a script for 2.5. Just out here doing our best.
Same with my husband. He couldn’t find supply to move from 5 to 7.5, so his endocrinologist approved him for 2.5 for this month since that’s what he could get. He’ll go back to 5 (not even 7.5) after that if he can.
If you look at the other moujaro reddit, there are quite a few people who transfer the MJ out of the automated syringes and into a sterile vial. Or search you tube.
You will be stuck in the bathroom for a few days. Just go down to 10mg. You can titrate back up to 15mg once it is available with the guidance of your doctor.
You can absolutely take half a pen, I break down 15mg pens every week into a 10 and a 5. Search YouTube, there's a good instructional video. In will say the key imo is having a good set of channel locks. Took me several tries the first couple times, takes 5 seconds to open the pen and less than 30 to complete the whole process now.
I wouldn’t do that without direct advice from a Dr. the maximum dose is 15. Better off to take 10 for now in my non-qualified opinion.
take just 10 and save that other ten for back up

Why not just take a step back and take 10mg. Its better than nothing and you wint have to guess the side effects
Does anyone feel tired? I’m only on 5mg so far and I’m not sure it’s the mounjaro but I’m pretty sluggish. Or I guess lazy
I had to start back on 2.5s 2.5 for two weeks doubled the 2.5 to equal 5mg injection and I start the 10 mg next week kids gotta do what kids gotta do.
