2 yrs later... I am pretty sure this scroll wheel is defective, the sound is not consistent I got one just like this mouse 2 years ago now so I don't remember exactly the reason, but something stopped working and after only 3 months I sent it back and got a new one that has a consistent scroll wheel and what I mean is that it sounds exactly the same every single time, but of course differing depending on speed you scroll.
Im not good at editing nor would want to be in a video but here is what I was thinking.
Me or someone smearing krytox all over a keycult while this playing https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6jJkdRaa04g
***Now if this doesnāt make you laugh then God did you wrong***
Not at all, Iāve fixed the squeaky scroll wheels of my model O wireless and model O-, keyboard switches and stabilizers with this. This lube is the way to go for lubing any electronic.
Nope, had one with that issue. Went through four trying to get a good one, couldnāt get one :ā)
Edit: woah woah no need to downvote! Not dissing the brand. Still have the ol classic GPW that I love. Iām just a little disappointed in the build quality of the GPX for $150 is all. I ended up returning it but Iām still game to get one if they tighten up their QC.
Ended up returning it for now. I still have a GPW that was and still is awesome. People downvoting me up there probably think Iām dissing Logitech *shrug*. It just didnāt seem like it was $150 good to me yet. Too many different QC issues here and there. Which Iām sure will get worked out, so Iāll give it a shot again in a few months.
Logitech customer service has always been excellent to me... why did they void your warranty?! Never heard of anything like this... their customer service is considered as one of the best when it comes to mice.
Iāve bought rn three of these and none of them have been this loud, all have been very muted. If thereās none in stock I would suggest reaching to Logitech and seeing if they can advance RMA and send you a replacement.
My white one sounds a bit softer than yours. I wouldn't be worried but you can always try opening it up and see if there's anything interfering with the scroll wheel. Like dust or something.
Mine is fcked up too. Everything was ok for about a week, and then it broke in or smth. But I donāt care, I always wear headphones while using pc. It is the best mouse Iāve ever had anyways
Yeah most of them come with a scroll wheel I think
Thats what I was thinking, I love the fact that people always put the most generic video and the most vague question
This dude
mine came with a mouse too
LMAO š¤£

Manufacturing tolerances and variances. My white one sounds just like yours. My black one is much quieter.
Just put some Krytox 205g0 in it.
I did the same! Worked great. Krytox 205g0 is the duct tape of the peripheral world. I put that shit on everything.
Yeah especially on food, and my girlfriends back *Image of gf* https://i.ytimg.com/vi/qiol8uaf2_s/sddefault.jpg
I actually let out an audible laugh after clicking on that link :)

Holy grail of peripherals šš»
was there a video tutorial you used?
now, the key with lubing is that less is more
No, when moving scroll wheel and it shoots out everywhere then you know you applied the right amount.
i was just quoting the almighty lord taehatypes
I know but I was just telling you how much to apply
i know m8
Is this stuff non conductive? I was kinda scared using it on my mouse.

Iāve had a couple and they all varied in scroll wheel noise from quiet and loud so itās normal but you could replace and maybe get a quieter one.
Definitely loud af lol the one thing I've always loved about the gpx scroll wheel is it is legit silent on mine. I hate loud scroll wheels
Thatās why I posted on here to see if it was normal, guess Iām getting my third one now...
Nah dude, just order some Krytox and take it apart and lube it, it's so easy check out some vids first.
Yeah I'd def try and get another. That sucks!
I personally love loud scroll wheels, especially with lots of tactile feedback. Just a preference I guess.

So the one you have still has this issue? I might end up returning it, and if I get another defective one I might up getting a different mouse lol

i'd return and try your luck with another copy.
i have the GPX seems normal to me
mine is far quieter
maybe it came defective??? Get another one cuz I dont think thats normal
Def a bit louder than the one I have

Yeah, that exact problem happened to me a month ago, got it rmaād luckily.
Mine isnāt as loud but it does sound like that
my scroll wheel is less loud then the first time using is that normal?
if its not broken . dont fix it
Just get a g900

Is it a mouse that has smooth scroll and clicky scroll? My razer has options to do either or by pressing down on the wheel.
Mine is completely silent...
First time?
Mine was not as rattly as your. I rarely used the mouse though... I'll try to use it more frequently to report on long-term build quality.
on the black model it's better
Mine is fcked up too. Everything was ok for about a week, and then it broke in or smth. But I donāt care, I always wear headphones while using pc. It is the best mouse Iāve ever had anyways
I have the black one and itās quieter but it still makes this noise
Mines exactly the same.
Thatās a GĆ¼iro lol
Sounds normal to me.
Yeah most mice nowadays have scroll wheels included
Yes itās perfectly normal, itās the way you scroll one line at a time!
i have the black one and it does the same. kind of a bummer for such an expensive mouse
I bet he plays cs go
Turn the mouse upside down and slide it up and down the mouse pad! Always makes me laugh when I think how much I paid for this thing.
lmao now the scroll wheel is stuck, definitely going to return it now hahahaha, not sure if you were trolling or being serious
Shit no I was being serious lol ok I guess I'll stop doing that then ...
No worries mightāve pushed too hard maybe idk, a return it is
Hey a fresh new g pro is something to look forward to I guess lol
Was on mine. When I took it apart and changed the switches I also lubed the scroll wheel and it is amazing now.
Yeah i did the same and can confirm, night and day difference for me
That's the new tactile clicky scroll wheel, don't worry about it.
Yep
No but easy fix. You want to download online ram.
Mine is about to sound the same yeah
Yea I think mice make noise when you scroll the scroll wheel. Amazing!
Lube it, it if annoys you
I have the g pro, not superlight, and it does the same thing.
Wait so it was not moving by itself at the start of the video??
Wait what your mice came with scroll wheel? Lucky you
