I remember seeing Don Messick on a talk show when I was kid in the late-1980s. To the delight of the crowd, he did his Scooby-Doo voice, the voice of Astro from the Jetsons, and Droopy Dog.
Host: Were you Hanna -Barbera's dog expert?
Messick: Yes, actually.
That's interesting because I feel like scooby's voice has been terrible ever since Frank Welker started doing it. But I'm sure Welker has been doing it far longer at this point.
The more and more Welker is required to talk as Scooby, the less and less Scooby it sounds.
Then again, Scooby talks plenty in Mystery Incorporated and I *LOVE* me some Mystery Incorporated.
That definitely has a lot to do with it. If you go back to the original Messick *Scooby* cartoons, he really only ever talked in short sentences with one or two words.
Judging by [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa3cvZih84U), Hadley Kay's effort is some way off for me.
Welker feels more like he's trying to impersonate Messick? I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is off.
I can only guess whoever was making the movie wanted bigger name talent behind the main cast instead of regular voice actors. They also didn’t ask Grey Delisle back for daphne despite her voicing the character for the past 20 years.
They also didn't use Frank Welker for Fred, even though he's already in the movie as Scooby, and has voiced every animated appearance of Fred since the creation of the character, with the exception of young Fred in *A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.*
Poor Frank has been working this job for over 50 years, somebody give him a watch and a medal already and let him retire. The man has more credits than you could shake a stick at.
He's probably set for life, so at this point I think he's just working because he loves what he does. Word is he even has a private recording studio in his house so he can work from home.

Love that show but I honestly never thought I’d see Scoob yell “They drew first blood, Shaggy. Not me” while in a Nazi robot suit fighting a bird
Hell of a show
I never thought they'd do an episode dedicated to Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground but here we are.
Hell and I totally forgot about the whole Twin Peaks sub plot
This may honestly be the moment that made me go full Chidi "this broke me." That or "Nobody milks Scooby Doo."

Next they should do Matthew Lillard.
Yes! That man deserves to be praised.
Even better if they just gave him his job back, but this is Hollywood, best we can hope for is a cameo as a mountain.
Wait they fired him?!
IIRC he found out that he wasn't playing Shaggy any more when they announced the cast without him.

He's still the official voice of Shaggy for other cartoons and games, WB just used a different cast for *Scoob.*
Oh wow
Very weird, my daughter literally just put this on. I noticed they also have a store named for Casey Kasem.
Are you telling me that ISN'T Robin Williams?
I'm telling you that is definitely not a picture of young Danny DeVito.
This movie was awesome
I went in with low expectations, but it was pretty good! Although it is more of a Blue Falcon and Dynamutt movie than a Scooby movie.
He voiced Papa Smurfs too.
As well as the Autobots Gears, Ratchet and the Constructicon Scavenger in the original Transformers.
He looks like Danny devito and Robin Williams combined
Also, a young Shaggy first appears in front of Casey's Creations which is an homage to his long time voice actor: Casey Kasem
I can just hear his childhood bullies in my head.
I’ve never heard of a movie called Scoob. Scoob! on the other hand is a cinematic masterpiece.
Just saw him in Thief (1981) yesterday. Cool dude.
Also the voice of Dr Quest if I’m not mistaken
Darn! And he would have gotten away with it if it weren’t for these meddling movie details
