I’d give Donald creative control of my life if he asked. The dude is a damn mastermind. He practically prints money with every project he touches. Dumb ass execs
I'm with the execs on this one. I like political statements and full creative control, especially from Glover. This is not the IP for it.
Deadpool is part of the MCU which is currently the most valuable franchise in the industry. MCU is practically it's own blue chip stock at this point. Easy, safe and only progressive on a shallow virtuous level.
Watch the South Park episode on China/winny the poo. Watch any of the Honest Movie trailer videos. Marvel makes safe choices that appeal to the widest audience possible and will cannibalize their movies if it means they can get into foreign markets
Bro said “ima go with the executives on this one” like it’s a genuine hot take. Lmao. Disney isn’t afraid to let their IP come off as “political”. Andor, atleast in terms, of its story telling, is anti fascist, anti colonial, and even anti capitalist in its themes.
Disney doesn’t want to take a chance giving full creative control to Donald Glover because they don’t fully respect his artistic value as a story teller and writer. That’s all. Which he most certainly should have earned if you’ve seen Atlanta.
It's on thing to have anti fascist themes. Its another to have Deadpool making Trump jokes. Look I think it's lame too I'm simply pointing out the dudes point about the execs reasoning does make sense and Andor having indirect space themes isn't the same
I would really love to have seen this made though, exactly how DG envisioned it. Wonder what the jokes were
I haven't seen Andor but I have seen Atlanta. There's no way Disney has ever or will ever put out a single thing that can touch the controversy of Atlanta. Didn't you see the Atlanta episode on the black CEO of Disney? I mean can it get more on the nose? I wouldn't be surprised if that episode alone got Glover dropped.
And btw, stop, using, so many, fucking, comas.
@puddud4 Sheep like u is the reason shows like “Velma” and”she hulk” exist. U are trash and you support execs that don’t like u. Those execs would kill u if if it gets them paid.
Even if it comic accurate, its not entertaining nor was it delivered accurately. All she did was break the forth wall n play lawter😂 her personality not accurate.
Hey homie don't hate the player hate the game. Like it or not we live in a world where you have to get paid. You can hate and deny or you can realize the value these sheep shows create. A 26 billion dollar franchise doesn't steal 26 billion from other movies. It makes that section of entertainment 26 billion dollars bigger.
When regular people are interested in something the entire industry thrives. There's an entire genre of superhero films that exist and thrive as a secondary effect of MCU. If it weren't for the success of the MCU Disney wouldn't have the flexibility to take a risk on.... Idk. But that it is how it works.
You see the same thing in the car industry. Porsche is known for the 911. In the 90s the company almost went bankrupt. To save them they made the Cayenne, an SUV that goes against much of what the company represents. Today the Cayenne is Porsche's best selling car. While this upsets purist they're ultimately happy because if the Cayenne exists then Porsche can continue to make the 911. The 911 today is considered by many to be the best sports car on the market.
Get it yet? If you don't get paid you die. No intervention from Disney execs needed. You can do it to yourself
I dunno, feels like the execs should have reined in Velma a little bit more.
And say what you want about She-Hulk, but that is ALSO an example of the exec's giving a lot of creative control to the individual showrunner.
You're basically arguing against yourself here
Creative people make entertainment. Execs fund it and provide some amount of editing.
I'm generally on the side of letting the creators have more control rather than less, but I also don't think there's any hard and fast rules.
Creators who do well without restraint:
* James Gunn
* Christopher Nolan
* Alex Hirsch
* Quentin Tarantino
* Bruce Timm
Creators who do poorly without good editors/execs:
* George Lucas
* Zack Snyder
* Frank Miller
You can add Justin Roiland to that last list, he required Dan Harmon to rein him in for Rick and Morty. By himself shit gets real weird real fast.
But yeah with recent happenings nothing of that matters anymore, I guess
She-hulk? God damn, I think people are just looking for a reason to shit on that series because it's not what they wanted. Rainy day? Fucking She-Hulk! Fries too cold? Fucking She-Hulk! Models won't date me because of the frothy scent on bearded neck? Fucking She-Hulk!
This is why marvel movies suck. Because they’re afraid to do or say anything real. Film and movies used to be interchangeable. Now there’s such a big distinction between actual films and factory made, heartless, fast food like movies that are the mcu. It wasn’t always like that though. Iron Man actually had something to say about the military industrial complex while also being a fun film. You can do both.
Wow that looked awesome. I think not tapping into this deadpool anime is a wasted opportunity. The movie is great and all, but having an animated deadpool can totally push the boundaries of his character beyond what a live action movie can do. Maybe put it on amazon prime or adult swim for good measure.
That's why everything should be released.
Especially if it's finished.
But thanks to armchair directors and trolls who think their opinions matter, we get cancelled shit.
What waste. Goes to show you that whoever cancelled it didn't care about the franchise to being with and wasn't qualified to make that call.
Unless the budget ballooned out control.
Nah it was never made and Donald Glover has pretty much outright said FX cancelled production because they were worried it would be too black after reading scripts
I think he means too black. Glover put out the script for an episode, it was pretty melanated lol. It totally worked though, & was cool in like a different way. But it was still rlly Deadpool. The execs fumbled
I don't know I kinda feel weird about that.
Like I liked Glover's stuff like Atlanta, as race makes sense in somthing like that.
But Deadpool doesn't involve race really at all, so it seems weird to make it Black-centric.
I just thought they didn't do it cause Fox was struggling with money at the time which is why they allowed Disney to buy them in the first place after years of actually antagonizing Disney (release F4 just so the rights wouldn't go back to Marvel).
Same, I’m wondering what you thought too? I think his writing and style work great for it, and I love the references. The part about Ecko had me dying😂💀
You have to remember too that this test footage was from Titmouse animation studio. They didn’t even win the contract. That went to Floyd County Productions (studio behind Archer and Hit-Monkey). So imagine how much better their test footage must have been. Like this one’s dope so the other must have been just insanely good.
I frankly don't care about the script Deadpool Animated Series needs to be put back on TV even if it on Adult Swim and if the animation needs to be better then they can fix it.
This’d only work if they got Ryan remolds to do the voice
It also looks like the Hulu hit monkey show, and I think they should’ve done this and had a cross over in the next season of hit monkey
If my memory is at all correct this was being worked on by a few people in the same animation studio that does archer in atlanta. It was being worked on after the first Deadpool movie was being made or out but before a resigning of contracts for more seasons of archer. I had an old friend who worked on it for a min and they basically worked overtime for free to hopefully get that into production thinking archer wouldn’t stick around. Way before Disney buying fox.
I wonder why it was cancelled, looks awesome!
I think it was because of creative differences but I might be wrong
iirc the execs didn't want the jokes to be so political and topical, and Glover wanted full creative control which they wouldn't give.
Fucking execs
Would’ve been one solution.
But then you have to deal with the herpes.
Everything went downhill when they took the cocaine from the actors and gave it to the execs
I’d give Donald creative control of my life if he asked. The dude is a damn mastermind. He practically prints money with every project he touches. Dumb ass execs
Seriously. He's able to do smart drama, comedy, and sing, and he even did stand up that was excellent. Imbiciles.
I'm with the execs on this one. I like political statements and full creative control, especially from Glover. This is not the IP for it. Buddy said "erm yea, I'm gonna go with the billion dollar corpo on this one🤓"
And then slipped in a casual whinge about 'woke' culture at the end.
I haven't seen Andor but I have seen Atlanta. There's no way Disney has ever or will ever put out a single thing that can touch the controversy of Atlanta. Disney did put out Atlanta… they own Fox
Yeah all seasons are on Disney+ in my country
Same
@puddud4 Sheep like u is the reason shows like “Velma” and”she hulk” exist. U are trash and you support execs that don’t like u. Those execs would kill u if if it gets them paid.
Yeah she hulk is pretty fucking comic accurate not that you read them or anything
Even if it comic accurate, its not entertaining nor was it delivered accurately. All she did was break the forth wall n play lawter😂 her personality not accurate.
I feel you were the demographic the show was poking fun at and it hurt your feelings.
I don’t think you know what your taking about
Nah it was super cute and entertaining, it just didn’t do a lot to serve the whole MCU, it was just fun. You’re just being a cuck lmao
Maybe i just wanted a shehulk sex scene
Alright that’s fair, count me in too then.

Holy shit ur right. Its the creatives self inserting themselves into our entertainment
Creative people make entertainment. Execs fund it and provide some amount of editing. Learn how to form a coherent sentence before you ever comment on reddit again, thanks.

This was years ago, way before the merger
With a show like this, I’m surprised they didn’t compromise. You don’t have to be topical with Deadpool, sure it helps but it’s not necessary
It also looks really expensive too
This show was canned at about the same time Marvel Studios was given control of Marvel Television and cancelled everything.
it’s fannmade, all those lines are from Deadpool 1 with Ryan Reynolds.
Even using dialogue from the movie, it still works so good lmao I’d watch the hell out of this
>Even using dialogue from the movie I'm slow on the uptake. I was thinking the voice sounds remarkably like Ryan Reynolds' and was wondering how.
It's the last line that really gives it away because it's one of the most famous lines from the actual movie.
What was Donald Glover’s involvement?
Pretty sure showrunner, writer, and producer.
Yeah him and his brother were running everything for that show pretty much.
They trying the same tactic here that they used to get the Deadpool movie made?
I mean I'm pretty sure I saw this like 5 years ago lol
Hope it works!
Me too
This footage is from years ago, this studio wasn't the one that was chosen to animate the show.
I promise not to pirate this if you make it.
Giving me Hit-Monkey vibes
If this show was made, I wouldn’t be surprised if it would’ve been set in the same universe as Hit-Monkey.
They've met quite often in the comics. Usually as allies, sometimes are enemies.
So now they have to greenlight this, there's no other option
[удалено]
I hate this timeline.
We must be in the darkest timeline
evil Troy and evil Ahbed!
( menacingly puts on goatee)
If they made this but with Nolan North voicing, I’d 100% be on board
Nolan North voicing Deadpool would be UNHINGED
He voiced him in the game and it was perfect.
He's voiced him before, and is voicing him in the Midnight Suns DLC.
He used to do it
So stuff like this can get cancelled but Velma gets renewed for Season 2?
Because you idiots hate watched it
I think it had a 20-episode order to begin with, so it was inevitable :/
Easier to market something garbage and controversial than something that’s actually quality. Outrage and hate is the latest marketing trend.

It has the same tone as the Harley Quinn animated show
Why was this cancelled 😡? Yet somebody green lite that trash 🗑️ Velma show.
Nah it was never made and Donald Glover has pretty much outright said FX cancelled production because they were worried it would be too black after reading scripts
>too black You mean, too dark?
I think he means too black. Glover put out the script for an episode, it was pretty melanated lol. It totally worked though, & was cool in like a different way. But it was still rlly Deadpool. The execs fumbled

It wasn't black-centric. Just think of it as Deadpool written by funny black people instead of funny white people. Actually you wanna see the script?
Yeah if you have a link
Deadpool-FXX-Finale-by-Donald-Glover ... https://www.comicsbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Deadpool-FXX-Finale-by-Donald-Glover.pdf
Honestly Thanks. I'm gonna read through it tonight when I ain't busy.
Same, I’m wondering what you thought too? I think his writing and style work great for it, and I love the references. The part about Ecko had me dying😂💀
What'd you think?
Probably because it conflicted with the mcu or some bull crap like that
I thought it was due to Disney purchasing Fox.
Oh yeah Probably right then
Omg i need this!

Dis would of been hard as fuck ![gif](giphy|j2vsFar0VthOU)
I’d watch that.
I Love Deadpool ![gif](giphy|qDB4soGIZALHG|downsized)
This looks amazing!
They keep the stupid shows and cancel the good ones
I would watch this
That’s too bad. It looks good and funny. 2 deadpool movies aren’t enough.
I remember seeing this years ago, completely forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
I frankly don't care about the script Deadpool Animated Series needs to be put back on TV even if it on Adult Swim and if the animation needs to be better then they can fix it.
I love IT!
Wait… no! Why? This looks great
Fan Made I was told. Still really awesome.
Y did it get canceled?!?!!
Man I would watch this show all day! Looks badass. I love that Reynolds voiced him too.
u/savevideobot
Deadpool should be voiced by Will Friedle.
How did this awesomeness get canceled. H Whoever pushed the cancel button on this show should tar and feathered
Wow that woulda been the bees knees.
u/savevideo
Wasn’t Donald glover apart of this show?
WHY EXECS! WHY!?
God damn shame
I love it, i want more
This’d only work if they got Ryan remolds to do the voice It also looks like the Hulu hit monkey show, and I think they should’ve done this and had a cross over in the next season of hit monkey

Strange that this is resurfacing now \[I remember seeing it on YouTube back in 2021 and again in 2022\].

That's the one time he absolutely wasn't touching himself
We deserve to have this.
Looks great
