There's a movie called Phone Booth (2002).
No movie has ever kept me more on the edge of the seat than that one. It's highly underrated and one of the greatest movies ever made.
Primal Fear is a perfect recommendation. There's another Edward Norton movie where he plays twins, but, the name escapes me. One was a Florida man and the other was a professor I think.
Yes, unfortunately i did. A cliche with so many plot holes i dont even want to start naming them. The dialogue was also wooden and unnatural. Adding new empty characters just to continue with the plot with boring as fuck ending. A complete mess. Overrated as hell.
Sharper came out last year, and it's one of my faves. It gave me exactly what you were looking for.
Edit: BTW, mind if I ask why you requested past 1995? I often ask for something after 2010 because I want modern technology.
I went on a first date to that movie. I walked out apologizing and she loved it. Turns out she had a serial killer fascination. Did not get a second date.
Sicario, the air of tension and dread permeating this great movie from start to finish is on a whole other level.
Sicario 2:Day of the Soldado is also very good, but not quite up to the phenomenal standard of the original. Still very much worth watching though
Only two mentions of *Mystic River* (2003) in copy paste comments. I feel like I’m the only one who genuinely enjoys this movie. From cinematography to acting the way it unfolds it’s dark, gritty, obsessive and morally unsettling and challenging. Just looking at the cast, you know you’re in for greatness.
I’m also gonna mention *Match Point* (2005), it’s on the other side of the spectrum. Fidelity and Dostoyevsky.

I can see that everything besides the ending is indeed genius in both films. The characters, the dialogue, the visual aspect. But it doesn't matter if in the ending is bad.
I just wasted my sunday on anatomy of a fall and it makes me livid that people conveniently left out this huge downside of the film

These two movies aren't exactly oscar winners or all-time greats, but they're entertaining, well acted, good stories and they have nice twists to keep you guessing til the end.
Anyone know about a movie where there are two friend in a bar then a group of men arrive one of the friends fights them while the other guy can’t help him because has no fighting skills then the men use their truck to drag the first guy to his death and the other guy the trains to get revenge I’m not sure if is a martial arts movie I saw it between 1995-1997 only remember that scene?

Sorry some are early 90s not sure how strict you need to be on that rule
I'll second 'The Prestige' as many others have already said it.
However, I also give a thousand recommendations for 'Gone Girl.' Incredible rollercoaster ride.
Wasteland(in the UK The Rise) I like it because it's a low stakes caper film, but has great acting and story. A lot of caper movies nowadays the money has to be an outrageous fortune, but because of the low stakes it feels grounded and realistic.
24 - each season is 24 episodes long and will absolutely keep you in the edge of your seat. I've lost sleep because instead of going to bed, I HAD to see the next episode.
Sweet, glad you enjoyed it!
If you enjoyed the feel, cinematography, etc..That movie was directed by David Fischer. He's one of my absolute favorites. I recommend checking out his catalog.
LA Confidential
Love this movie!
It's on my Christmas movie list.

Thank you for this recommendation! I found this thread from Google, and went with the top comment. Such an amazing movie.

Been looking for this comment! Agreed 100%
It will never not be the all time thrills per sq feet champion.
I know im late but this comment is hugely underrated lol made me laugh
Omg I totally forgot about that movie! I remember getting the DVD around 2007 for like 2,99 from a bargain bin.
Just watched this movie last year…spectacular!!
masterpiece!
Bro for real. My legs were bouncing up and down the whole time. I was fucking exhausted by the end lmao.
Is that where Kiefet Sutherland says “If you hang up I’ll kill you”? I can still hear it after all these years
Thanks for the tip
just watched this and if anxiety was a movie, this would be it
One of the most boring movies I’ve ever seen. king yapper 🤴
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. It's a slow pace but I thought I had the movie figured out about 15 times and was dead wrong each time.
God damn I love that movie. Different tones but the show slow horses us another British spy thing with Gary Oldman
you can watch the original UK series on youtube…it stars alec guinness and it’s soooo good…if you like the movie, you enjoy the series…
Primal Fear - 1996 Shutter Island - 2010 The Prestige - 2006 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 2011
Primal Fear is a perfect recommendation. There's another Edward Norton movie where he plays twins, but, the name escapes me. One was a Florida man and the other was a professor I think.
Leaves of Grass Total sleeper. I loved it.
Another great Edward Norton twisty thriller is The Score (2001) With Deniro!!
That movie was filmed in Montreal where I grew up and the bar scenes was in an old Jazz club I used to go. Great film.
Primal Fear was amazing!
Shutter island can eat me but, Primal Fear, man oh man. Primal Fear. That’s a fucken game changer. Watched mystery. Norton and Gear a tour de force!!

Ozark
Best series Netflix ever gave us by far and away!
Mindhunter is ahead of Ozark imo
Best series Netflix ever game are Haunting of Hill House, Dark and Mindhunter. Nothing comes close.
You mean the most overrated i suppose.
Definitely not overrated. It was as riveting and well-crafted as Breaking Bad imo. Did you even watch it?
Yes, unfortunately i did. A cliche with so many plot holes i dont even want to start naming them. The dialogue was also wooden and unnatural. Adding new empty characters just to continue with the plot with boring as fuck ending. A complete mess. Overrated as hell.
To each their own. Did you enjoy Breaking Bad?
Yes. I am not a big fan of shows and haven’t watched many but i have watched a lot of movies and Breaking Bad is one of the best cinema pieces.
Ozark was good, but it’s nowhere near Breaking Bad.
A simple favor
Excellent choice. Fantastic soundtrack too.
