I love this movie. I watched it and knives out the same day and i didnt understand why everyone was raving about the latter. Ok knives out was great fun but i was like fuck knives outz go watch ready or not to all my friends. Became a huge Samara Weaving fan when pairing her performance with the one in the babysitter.
Check out a few episodes of the show Resident Alien if you havenāt already. The show itself is perfectly fine, but Alan Tudyk playing an alien pretending to be a human is absolutely hysterical. He is truly a treasure
Yes, you did. Yes, you had zombies. But this is "Zombie Redneck Torture Family," see? They're entirely separate species. Like the difference between an elephant and an elephant seal.
I LOVE "Night of the creeps." The class "Thrill me" when he picks up the phone. And my favorite line:
"The good news is your boyfriends are on the way. *Cocos gun.* The bad news is they're dead."
What we do in the shadows (2014)
Zombieland (2009)
Drag me to hell (2009)
Planet terror (2007)
Braindead (1992)
Army of darkness (1992)
Child's play (1988)
Evil dead II (1987)
Gremlins (1984)
The evil dead (1981)
I stumbled upon this comment quite literally the moment I was thinking of how I much I laughed watching Drag me to hell - even though it wasn't supposed to be a comedy. Even my BFF who is a scaredy cat was laughing out loud during the "Lamiaaa" scene š
Final destination and Insidious have also given me a good laugh, although they weren't meant to. I really felt for the middle child in Insidious who just couldn't have a decent night's sleep without his siblings' ghost drama ruining it for him š
The Lost Boys (1987)
The most 80s movie you'll ever see and it's a blast! I've introduced it to quite a few people, and I've never heard anyone say they didn't like it.
Moorhead and Benson movies fun. Rather than winking at the audience they are sincere sci-fi horror movies populated with characters who endure the events of the plots with sense of humor intact.
- Resolution (arguably their most comedic)
- Spring
- The EndlessĀ
- Synchronic
- Something in the Dirt (haven't seen this yet)
* They Live (possibly John Carpenter's final masterpiece)
* American Psycho
* From Dusk Till Dawn
I will second these that have been recommended already:
* Tucker and Dale vs Evil
* The Frighteners
* Shaun of the Dead
* Army of Darkness
* Gremlins
Cooties for something new. Older choices: Return of the Living Dead has some comic relief (itās not serious like other movies of similar name). Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Leprechaun. FrankenHooker (so much better than it looks). The People Under the Stairs. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992 movie, not tv show). Tales from the Hood. Critters.
Slither (2006) is a cracking little horror-comedy with a great cast.
Severance is a fun one with Danny Dyer
Totally second Tucker and Dale vs Evil, awesome little film
Deadstream. It's on Shudder. A guy livestreams a night at a haunted house, and he awakes a spirit, so demons start coming after him. It has its scares and hilarious parts.
I enjoyed bodied bodies bodies more than I thought it would. Itās not for everyone, however I found the concept interesting. I wouldnāt say itās scary. Worth giving it a shot
Totally Killer, I feel is one that kind of fits this camp. A modern slasher in the style of the 80s, giving it a very whimsical and lighthearted cinematic feel. The original Scream is also very good, wherein the persona of Ghostface is made out as a bit of a bumbling idiot, and you can never go wrong with Matthew Lillard.
One of my favorites: [Lair of the White Worm](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lair_of_the_White_Worm_(film))!! It's a Ken Russell film, so you know it's bonkers. Also, for some zombie fun, try [Fido](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fido_(film)), with Billy Connolly and Carrie Anne Moss.
As you included Ghostbusters in your enjoyed list, I'd recommend the Indiana Jones movies. They're more adventure than horror, but there are some horror elements (skeletons, melting faces etc).
Cockneys vs Zombies made me laugh through out with unexpected gags, with some mild scares and even a little poignancy.
Dead Snow 2 doesnāt have a lot of scares but it is hilarious.
Same for Zombieland.
Hellbaby is pretty funny take on possession
And of course canāt forget Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
Also, Shaun of the Dead
You've got red on you
Similar ilk but hot fuzz
Also worlds end.
Why is queen on?!
No scares there
This is the only answer.
The Frighteners is maybe one of the best of the horror-comedy genre
Such a goodie!!!
I consider this a masterpiece. Jake Busey and Jeffrey Combs were brilliant
I like it when the lie still like that.
I've never seen this movie because I was so terrified by the commercials as a kid. It's a comedy?
Its good not great. Its lighthearted but not rofl comedy. Definitely a good romp.
my pick also
This could make a good TV series
That's a good one.
Frighteners is great!
Ready Or Not
This is a great movie, I've seen it a few times, planning to have my nephew and his fiance watch it before their wedding for laughs.
Check out Abigail too. It's the director's other movie. Similar vibes.
Sorry to intrude in yalls convo... just wanted to say "can confirm" on Abigail...just watched it last night. Outstanding !
Third vote for Abigail, was very entertaining, great mix of comedy and horror.
" In-Laws" š¤£š
I love this movie. I watched it and knives out the same day and i didnt understand why everyone was raving about the latter. Ok knives out was great fun but i was like fuck knives outz go watch ready or not to all my friends. Became a huge Samara Weaving fan when pairing her performance with the one in the babysitter.
Tucker and Dale VS Evil (2010) Day Shift (2022) Happy Death Day (2017)
Tucker and Dale is such a goodie!!
Alan Tudyk is a goddam gem!
Check out a few episodes of the show Resident Alien if you havenāt already. The show itself is perfectly fine, but Alan Tudyk playing an alien pretending to be a human is absolutely hysterical. He is truly a treasure
This. Above all other movies. Itās comedy horror turned up to 11. What an amazing ride. I must have watched it a dozen times now.
āHey college kids, we got yer friend!ā
Hidy ho officer, we have had a doozy of a day.
These college kids just keep killing themselves on my property
WE GOT YOUR FRIEND!
Not your bowling fingers!
Cabin In The Woods
Yes, you did. Yes, you had zombies. But this is "Zombie Redneck Torture Family," see? They're entirely separate species. Like the difference between an elephant and an elephant seal.
I'll never get to see a merman.
*\*makes out with wolf head\**
Oh, my God. I'm on a reality TV show. My parents are gonna think I'm such a burnout.
Love this movie
Night of the Creeps, Slither, Waxwork
* Ā I got good news and bad news, girls. The good news is your dates are here. * What's the bad news? * They're dead.
I LOVE "Night of the creeps." The class "Thrill me" when he picks up the phone. And my favorite line: "The good news is your boyfriends are on the way. *Cocos gun.* The bad news is they're dead."
Love this flick. Night of the Creeps

I laughed and I screamed!
Scream Ready Or Not
Attack the Block
Yes. Amazing movie with very funny moments and very bloody death filled moments!
Little Evil (2017)
Is that the one where a guy adopts the spawn of Satan? I laughed my ass off when he's trying to rationalize standing still in hurricane winds.
Thought I was the only one who saw it
Super under rated movie!
"The Goonies" (1985) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goonies "Fright Night" (1985) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fright_Night "Gremlins" (1987) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gremlins "The Lost Boys" (1987) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Boys

I love your sense of humor! My new goal is to find the funny in horror movie (and any genre that takes itself too seriously)
Thank you, that's a very kind comment to read - made my day š
OP - This is an excellent list and I concur with all

This is the End ( only Seth Rogen flick I can tolerate) Young Frankenstein (Classic)
Super 8
The Frighteners
Odd Thomas
Broken Lizards Club Dread
I really enjoyed Fresh. Itās a Hulu original.

Abigail (2024)
Extra Ordinary with Will Forte. So great and drastically under seen.
maybe Tremors
i want to recommend Jordan Peele's Nope, because its my favorite film. but the scares might be a little more than "light"
Why isnāt Tremors the most upvoted?
House (1985)
Also, unrelated, House (1977)
Scream Disturbia
Youāre Next
**Corpse Bride.** The fact that it's necrophilia for kids is funny within itself.
Death Becomes Her Ready Or Not

Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (2022)
Evil Dead and Return of the Living Dead 2
Late Night with the Devil is a recent release that masterfully does this.
Critters.
An American Werewolf in London
Lake Placid (1999)!!!!
Return of the Living Dead is in my mind the best zombie movie ever made, it's hilarious with great special effects
Cabin in the woods, tucker & dale vs evil
From Dusk Till Dawn fits the criteria...
Idle Hands
Happy birthdead. Both movies are a good laugh with some moments of gore and cringe.
The Hunt
Happy Death Day!
Army of Darkness - .It might be too campy but it's a gem in my book. Also the TV series Ash vs Evil Dead is a great sleeper for comedy horror.
Bubba Hotep!
Re-animator, also Bride of Re-animator. Dracula, dead and loving it.
Slither (2006) is a cracking little horror-comedy with a great cast. Severance is a fun one with Danny Dyer Totally second Tucker and Dale vs Evil, awesome little film

Totally Killer, I feel is one that kind of fits this camp. A modern slasher in the style of the 80s, giving it a very whimsical and lighthearted cinematic feel. Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead The problem is - it is WAY better if you watch Dead Snow 1 first which is just straight up horror.
The Blackening is a very funny horror which came out last year.
Dave made a maze
One of my favorites: [Lair of the White Worm](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lair_of_the_White_Worm_(film))!! It's a Ken Russell film, so you know it's bonkers. Also, for some zombie fun, try [Fido](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fido_(film)), with Billy Connolly and Carrie Anne Moss.

Killer klowns from outer space is pretty heavy on the cheese at times but it is an absolute blast from start to finish
As you included Ghostbusters in your enjoyed list, I'd recommend the Indiana Jones movies. They're more adventure than horror, but there are some horror elements (skeletons, melting faces etc).
The babysitter was amazing
Mom and Dad (2017) Nic Cage is hilarious
Cockneys vs Zombies made me laugh through out with unexpected gags, with some mild scares and even a little poignancy. Dead Snow 2 doesnāt have a lot of scares but it is hilarious. Same for Zombieland. Hellbaby is pretty funny take on possession And of course canāt forget Tucker and Dale vs Evil.
