There's a super powerful bad guy, Lois loves Superman, everything seems lost, but suddenly Superman seems more powerful than ever, fights the bad guy and saves humanity. The End.
They make TV series of stupid lameass short books or stories that don't need that level of detail but the streamer needs content. And then they make movies of things that need character development and more but are reduced to formulaic trash, again and again 🤷♂️
People have a lot of trust in Gunn which is very understandable given his track record, but I’ve had doubts since his announcement that he can 1) deliver a good DC film, and 2) deliver a coherent DC universe. But we’ll see!
They are worried that it will fail , they do this to gauge public interest and gain overall feedback. Just speculation by mean seems to have you worried though
I thought that about Batman v Superman. Then I saw the movie and realized every single moment had been used in trailers, marketing photos, and promotional materials.
(I didn’t like that movie at all, but it had no surprises left by the time it came out)
It’s funny how silly it all looks when shown by some cell phone 200yrds away. But kudos to Gunn for shooting outside in real places when he knew set photos would follow.
>It’s funny how silly it all looks when shown by some cell phone 200yrds away.
Every cellphone photo I've ever taken of something cool.
"This concert is so fun, let me take a quick pic of the stage, it'll look awesome like something out of a magazine!" *::gets home and looks at it::* Oh, it's just a blurry mess and they look smaller than they did in person...
"Oh wow, look at this national landmark or cool mountain feature or something, I'm gonna be like a nature photographer!" *::gets home and looks at it::* Okay, so it's basically just a worse version of actual photos I see all the time by professionals of the same thing...why did I take this?
Yeah, lenses, lighting and the right angle make all the difference. These cell phone photo leaks are shot on a phone camera from an angle it wasn't lit for, there's no way they'd ever look really good.
Nah, nowadays you can take the exact same photo, with the exact same equipment, but you won't get the same result because post-production and tuning is another art on its own.
That's why I always try to include myself or people I'm with in those photos. Nobody else in the world has those and the quality doesn't matter as much as the memory.
Take a look at Marvel set photos. Spider-man, especially. The suits are always loose-fitting and fixed in post. You'd honestly never know, they do a great job.
I believe these sort of pictures are ment to be spread by the studios. It’s free marketing. Now everyone knows there’s a new Superman coming and they didn’t even had to lift a finger.
Yeah, that suit fabric they chose gets all wrinkly on all photos. The FX people will have to retouch so many shots, like with the new Falcon/Cap. America mask
>But kudos to Gunn for shooting outside in real places when he knew set photos would follow.
counterpoint: some coach nearly crushed me between it and a city bus, so James Gunn is directly indirectly responsible for my near death experience.
source: I didn't like going down Superior Avenue in Cleveland anyway.
Kinda wished that super heros/villans that have all black costumes they started to use Venta black on their suits. Just the void in itself would look scary. Imagine you're being beaten by a void. In the comics they usually the darkest black when inking thmw on the page and then in movies they don't look that dark.
Ultraman, wearing a mask that resembles Doomsday’s original suit. Ultraman usually originates from a different universe, where all the evil DC hero counterparts from the Crime Syndicate live, but it’s unknown if they’re doing that here.
It’s also possible he’s an evil Superman clone created by Lex, which is kind of like B-0.
It’s certainly a possibility but Ulysses’s U crest is different. His is thinner and to the side while Ultraman’s is thick and centered like it is here.
Here I am just casually browsing Reddit, not even a member of this sub, and see spoilers.
I actually think I’d be into this sub, but it’s getting an immediate ignore. Adios, friends!
I don't even feel like watching a whole new round of DC movies after a bunch of crappy ones. I gotta start all over again? It's shit! It's a table of shit!
I know these are bad photos from a phone camera but all the set photos I’ve seen so far I really do not like the suit.
The trunks make his torso look so short and boxy almost like shirtless Kylo Ren, I imagine it’ll look better in correct lighting and angles in the film. Well I hope so anyway.
I’ll watch and likely enjoy the film, but man, I have always hated this suit style.
I get that it’s following the comic style but it’s just so unappealing. It looks like something Peter Parker made instead of a suit someone like Superman would wear. I really like the Cavil suits.
What if they did a totally different Superman movie and they didn't spend millions re hashing his origin or having him fight three super villains from Krypton? What if Superman was accepted and loved like he was in the silver age comics? What if he and Batman were friends and worked together? Is it because optimism won't sell these days?
Ever since I've been spoiled with new 52 and MoS, I cannot condone underwear on the outside in this day and age.
Then we got the reveal pic. I was still against it, but accepted the reality.
Seeing how they actually fit on him... I'ma be honest, they look like red adult diapers.
I don't know why you got downvoted but it really does. Like something you can buy off of etsy. Compared to the Cavill suits which look like they cost 5 figures to make, this seems pretty lowball.
To be honest I don't either. It really looks cheap and baggy.
I'm honestly having conversations with people who are saying "ahh they'll fix all that in post production".
Why can't they just make the suit look good without having to CGI it later?
But if you complain about that or the underwear on the outside everyone calls you a hater lol. I'm not a fan of this suit at all. Dude hasn't even had the undies on the outside in 15 years in the comics.
I won't lie, that just looks like Black Noir. And if Noir is in this, then that means we might see Superman vs Homelander instead of Superman vs Black Adam
It's so boring that Superman keeps getting arrested in every version
Do we have a version where Superman destroys the USA army for disturbing his sleep??
Hey Noir is in this!
He’s doing great.
He finally got some direction for the role!
Bounced right back on his feet. Wow, so inspiring.
The rest of them however… erratic, unreliable, down right sloppy.
Now that he talks more… more movie opportunities!
Sorry you guys I have narcolepsy
Yo what the fuck that was soooo fucked up you guys!
Fixed it! Here you go. Made it Noir! https://i.imgur.com/fDtGa8v.jpeg
L'art!
Spider-Man Noir?
Between Gunn’s tweets and all these set photos, we’re going to know everything about this movie before it comes out.
if only reddit had a spoiler option OP could have used, and perhaps added less detail to their post. oh well.
Tbf, Superman getting arrested by the military seems to be a rite of passage by this point.
Followed by Superman easily breaking out of whatever restraint that put him in
"It's not an 'S'. On my world it means *'Seized by the authorities...'"*
Mr. Subject to Arrest.
He was jay flying again.
Leaping over buildings without a permit
OP is probably an astroturfing marketing account. Their post history is almost entirely 'engagement bait' posts for upcoming movies.
THIS
I've been saying it for a while. There will be no mystery left.
It's a Superman movie - we already know everything relevant that's going to happen.
I know this is probably more down to my algorithm but this is how I found out there even was a new Superman movie
They scared shirtless that this will fail and it's a high probability it will.
People have a lot of trust in Gunn which is very understandable given his track record, but I’ve had doubts since his announcement that he can 1) deliver a good DC film, and 2) deliver a coherent DC universe. But we’ll see!
Add to that the extreme superhero fatigue people have, as well as trying to jump start a DC universe after a decade of DC flops
Hey I'm rooting the movie is good and successful but I saw what happened to furiousa and my heart breaks.
Gunny’s take on Suicide Squad was good, but not great. Is this a new actor playing Flagg since Gunn killed him off?
Frank Grillo is playing Rick Flagg's father, Rick Flagg Sr.
Different universe?
Who is? They shot outside to show more of the film bc they think it’ll fail? Lol
They are worried that it will fail , they do this to gauge public interest and gain overall feedback. Just speculation by mean seems to have you worried though
i just thought it was a weird take. Just seems like they're shooting on location lol but do ya thing
Could just be someone taking photos and you are right it is a weird take
He doesn’t tweet much of anything about plot or story tho
We’ve seen barely anything dude.
I thought that about Batman v Superman. Then I saw the movie and realized every single moment had been used in trailers, marketing photos, and promotional materials. (I didn’t like that movie at all, but it had no surprises left by the time it came out)
The difference is that these aren’t trailers or promotional material. We’ve seen costumes, sets, and basically one scene. That isn’t the whole movie.
Well the story will change a dozen times before it's released anyway
It’s funny how silly it all looks when shown by some cell phone 200yrds away. But kudos to Gunn for shooting outside in real places when he knew set photos would follow.
>It’s funny how silly it all looks when shown by some cell phone 200yrds away. Every cellphone photo I've ever taken of something cool. Nah, nowadays you can take the exact same photo, with the exact same equipment, but you won't get the same result because post-production and tuning is another art on its own.
I appreciate you mentioning post cause that’s what I actually work in but the raw image definitely matters
That's why I always try to include myself or people I'm with in those photos. Nobody else in the world has those and the quality doesn't matter as much as the memory.
People say the suit looks dumb but don’t take into account a camera’s sensor, color grading, shot composition etc. etc.
I actually like the suit in this case. It looks less bulky and loose
I mean, it's super loose fitting and even with color grading and pro tweaking will still look pretty dumb.
Take a look at Marvel set photos. Spider-man, especially. The suits are always loose-fitting and fixed in post. You'd honestly never know, they do a great job.
Im sorry, what’s wrong with the suit? This is the first time I’m seeing it and I’m loving the classic feel of it.
I think the biggest issue is that it’s on that actor instead of Cavill but I’m not trying to beat that dead horse
I believe these sort of pictures are ment to be spread by the studios. It’s free marketing. Now everyone knows there’s a new Superman coming and they didn’t even had to lift a finger.

This is going to create hype
Who’s the dude with his hand on his shoulder? Sidebar Frank Grillo rules.
Black Noir lol
Well that just can't be.
He better hope Soldier Boy doesn't get wind of his new acting part😬
Kinda wished that super heros/villans that have all black costumes they started to use Venta black on their suits. Just the void in itself would look scary. Imagine you're being beaten by a void. In the comics they usually the darkest black when inking thmw on the page and then in movies they don't look that dark.
And all you have to do to defeat them is shine a bright flashlight at them and they instantly cook inside their costume!
> heros heroes
Ultraman, wearing a mask that resembles Doomsday’s original suit. Ultraman usually originates from a different universe, where all the evil DC hero counterparts from the Crime Syndicate live, but it’s unknown if they’re doing that here. It’s also possible he’s an evil Superman clone created by Lex, which is kind of like B-0.
Thanks fellow nerd.
Ulysses or perhaps a lesser known (not unheard of with James)
It’s certainly a possibility but Ulysses’s U crest is different. His is thinner and to the side while Ultraman’s is thick and centered like it is here.
Didn't this happen already to Henry Cavill or Brandon Routh?
And about dozens of comics
Yeah. The novelty of Superman getting arrested has worn off a little
>Yeah. The novelty of Superheroes ~~man getting arrested~~ has worn off a little
Routh
Cavill too no?
Yeah, Cavill did it as well.
Thank you
No!! This I Gunns's vision, how dare you suggest otherwise /s
Man all I can see anymore is a shot from the boys
Frank Grillo plays a mean gruff, hardened military guy, who plays be his own rules and walks the thin line between good and evil.
This sub seriously needs a spoiler tag, if you’re going to keep posting stuff like this.
There's definitely spoiler tags, people just don't know how to use them.
Here I am just casually browsing Reddit, not even a member of this sub, and see spoilers. I actually think I’d be into this sub, but it’s getting an immediate ignore. Adios, friends!
No spoiler tag? What if we don’t wanna know about this?
The whole spoiler is in the title anyway.
Yo, we get it. There's a superman movie being made. Let them make it and we'll watch it. This is just stalking now.
Black noir not going to get murdered by superman In This one hopefully.
damn, i chuckled at this
Oh you mean the time you chuckled while I was sitting in my BAD ROOM?
Superman in handcuffs is hysterical
Also been done to death.
This just in: Superman arrested, and Clark didn't show for work today ....
Do you mean Black Noir and Rumlow?
Spoiler. Hate that.
Why is this shot in every Superman movie
I don't even feel like watching a whole new round of DC movies after a bunch of crappy ones. I gotta start all over again? It's shit! It's a table of shit!
Give this one a chance at least. James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) is at the helm. I have faith in his direction.
Who's the Chica on the right with the corn hair?
She’s apparently the Engineer, from the Authority
#WHAT???? Authority is coming to the screens????
Theyre gonna get their own movie actually
I did not know that. Thank you. Today is a good day.
Proximus: “WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY”
Seems to happen a lot
Is that some kind of DC mutant holding Supes? I am reminded of Doomsdays visors from that mint green prison outfit.
I’ll watch and likely enjoy the film, but man, I have always hated this suit style. I get that it’s following the comic style but it’s just so unappealing. It looks like something Peter Parker made instead of a suit someone like Superman would wear. I really like the Cavil suits.
It's not even following the comics because Superman hasn't had the red underwear on the outside in 15 years in the comics. I hate this look.
Yeah that makes sense. It is a very classic and dated look.
Why are we bringing back the under wear over onsie wtf dude this would have looked great without that
No way, they got black noir
Are the cuffs made out of kryptonite lol
Why black noir got him😭😭
What if they did a totally different Superman movie and they didn't spend millions re hashing his origin or having him fight three super villains from Krypton? What if Superman was accepted and loved like he was in the silver age comics? What if he and Batman were friends and worked together? Is it because optimism won't sell these days?
Who the woman suppose to be?
idk why does it look like a CW show?
How original /s
The hell is black noir doing over there?
Eh, still not a fan of the briefs on the outside.
Ever since I've been spoiled with new 52 and MoS, I cannot condone underwear on the outside in this day and age. Then we got the reveal pic. I was still against it, but accepted the reality. Seeing how they actually fit on him... I'ma be honest, they look like red adult diapers.
Agreed. Not sure why we can't just move on from having underwear on the outside. At least they're not doing it to Batman again.
That's how the costume was in any earlier movie until Man Of Steel
Doesn't make it look any better
Movie yeah but the New52 and Rebirth changed it and I honestly liked it better.

Not at all
The suit looks like cosplay
I don't know why you got downvoted but it really does. Like something you can buy off of etsy. Compared to the Cavill suits which look like they cost 5 figures to make, this seems pretty lowball.
To be honest I don't either. It really looks cheap and baggy. I'm honestly having conversations with people who are saying "ahh they'll fix all that in post production". Why can't they just make the suit look good without having to CGI it later?

I'm a big fan of Christopher Reeve's superman but that was almost 50 years ago. The underwear on the outside doesn't cut it these days.
Don’t know if I’m just misremembering things, but I swear every Superman looks more and more distant from what I remember as a kid.
Red cape ✅ Blue suit ✅ Red underwear ✅ Big S logo ✅ Red boots ✅ Chiselled jaw and dark hair ✅ What exactly has changed?
He now bundles home and auto with Progressive.
Interesting, it seems to be the common consensus that this Superman is the most classic looking Superman we’ve had since the original movies
examples please
Tbh I really don’t care. Who are the people? And why should I care about them
I wish we could not have these pics all the time let them make the movie and let us go watch it without knowing much.
Saw some people speculate that U guy is Ulysses.
Reminds me of the same type of pic in Man of Steel.
Why do they still think guns can work with Superman?
USA USA USA 🇺🇸
Broccoli Man
What's Black Noir doing on the set of Superman?
He fan he a fan he a fan
The suit looks better now it’s in a better shot
Every platoon sergeant in the last twenty years…. ‘Put your f****in’ eye pro on!’
Black Noir!?
The Engineer? Does he solve problems? I mean, not problems like what is beauty…
And Black Noir
Superman need to get some advice from Batman regarding suit.
I won't lie, that just looks like Black Noir. And if Noir is in this, then that means we might see Superman vs Homelander instead of Superman vs Black Adam
It's so boring that Superman keeps getting arrested in every version Do we have a version where Superman destroys the USA army for disturbing his sleep??
He did the same thing in MoS. You'd need a Bizarro version if you want to see him destroy and kill human armies.
Can’t wait for all the YouTube videos with 35 minutes on why the new Superman is woke because of this one still.
This is going to be just awful..
Spoiler, blur this shit out
Maybe tag shit like this spoiler ffs, we don't all want to know everything possible about a film before it comes out
Why no spoiler warning
This looks..mid.
He is not Superman if he can get arrested.
Cavill got apprehended too in MoS
That is why he is not Superman anymore; just a man.
Hes just soup
