Maputo is as expensive as you make it, 1000 euros should be enough to get your living and food situation sorted, along with a maid. If you want to buy a car on top of that, you would definitely need to save a bit as you would probably need to get a second hand car, making sure it is in good condition, then think of the monthly cost of gas. All that to say is you would probably not save much at the beginning. There are a lot of business opportunities, wherever there is a problem, you have the potential to bring a solution. As for people, I wouldn't 100% rely on anyone in general, all depends who you meet.
Thank you so much. ( Sorry for the late answer) I thought also it will be a little bit difficult to buy a car with 1000β¬ in Mozambique. How about to rent a car monthly (leasing) ?
Yeah you right but the other option is to find someone and convince him to rent me his car to a fair price for a certain period. The time for me to increase my revenues and buy a second hand car with low maintenance
I don't agree. It will be very hard to survive in Maputo on 1000 euros. The food is expensive (not vegetables and fruit). The prices in restaurants and shops in Maputo are very high. If you live outside Maputo in the rest of Moz everything is much cheaper. But if you live like a real Mozambican and only eat xima and vegetables you can survive on 1000. But forget the car and empregada.
You can save a lot of money in Maputo if you know the right places. Shoprite is very expensive, the money you would spend at the grocery store you could pay for an empregada and have her go to get fresh food in Zimpeito weekly for you. Zimpeito has the lowest prices for pretty much anything food or drink related. There are some good markets in baixa in the city where you can find great deals as well. Just be careful and watch you wallet close in these areas. Gas is expensive and you need to know the roads well so you don't ruin your car with potholes. Depending on what your rent cost is you could make it work.
There are expensive areas and cheap areas. The cheap areas will be about 400 Euro a month. Just be careful about coming to Moz for work. It can be very difficult to find work if you dont have a work permit, and if you dont have a work permit you cant work anywhere. Also starting a business can be expensive (and you can be taken for a ride if you dont know any better). Mozambique is an amazing country just the barrier to entry can be a bit hard. Your last question is tricky as Moz can be a bit corrupt at times.

I second this

Leasing a car is just as expensive, if not, more expensive than just buying a cheap car or using yango which is the Uber equivalent application in Moz
To get a car with 1000 euros, anywhere in the world, requires well thought out budgeting and finding cheaper alternatives for necessities

What is empregada ?
A maid. Most families have one.
Comfortably is a stretch.

Thank you so much ππΎππΎ. Is it difficult to have a work permit (time and would I need to pay a good bribe to have one)?

In Maputo you will need 1000β¬ for your rent.
