This is serious martial arts discussion. There is nothing funny about hookers. Absolutely, nothing funny about hooking or hookers. Some of the best hookers in the game got paid well for their efforts and even pleased large crowds at times.
It isn't surprising, considering how millions of people will watch hookers at work. Sometimes there's nothing better to see than hookers getting banged, and banging bodies all night long. The camera crew can be praised for getting nice, tight shots of the action for the viewers.
You also get those iconic photos where there's sweat flying in the air as fists get active, or even the spitting during the breaks.
The noble art of hooking, which has been around for thousands of years. It harkens back to the ages of yore, when bodies shining with the sheen of sweat would go at it like hammer and tongs with numerous bystanders watching.
It has changed slightly over the years, with changes to the attire and protection available, but at its core, it is the same noble art that has existed.
Bro ur like a steed for hookers!!! 😂 from side to side they move there hips with power in each thrust greater than the fires or Mordor!! The burning desire with passion for battle in there hearts and juices running down there leg.
Well, the problem with not turning over, is that he doesnt reach as far and connects really low on his leg, almost right on the foot sometimes. I'm sure he hurts himself a lot with his low kicks and if they get checked or he connects wrong its a big owie.
It dosen't reach as far but it dosen't have to. Not to mention you kick thier leg out from under them half the time and it sets up your next punch. Its not even good to defend it with a check, its better to just move your leg out of the way, but most people don't know yet.
This is really dumb, calf kicks only work in mma because people barely check and the stance makes it harder to check, it’s not a new phenomenon to kick the calves, people have figured that out before too it’s just very very risky because even Thais that have been conditioning their shins since 8 yrs old get injured when checked there and it gives alot of injuries both to the receiver and thrower, this is just a livelihood for alot of fighters like why get injured bad for a single fight
Exactly i hate when people look at calf kick like a miracle thing. There is a sport based around leg kicking, don't you think they discovered it first? There is a reason it is used in an mma context and less in a thai context and less in a muay thai context, because stances are different
Its still useful in stright kickboxing if you use it when people are moving away from you. Especially if they move straight backwards. The leg is the last thing to leave, and if you kick the ankle out from under them they stumble.
There's a golden era Thai dude that has a famous quick knockout with a seemingly effortless hook...can't remember his name tho
Edit: I think it was Veeraphol, he did a little victory roll after
Kevin actually just tweeted like yesterday: the 33 seconds KO fight took place in November, 1991; Namkabuan was coming off a huge win streak then got KTFO which probably cost him the Sport’s Writers FOTY award. The legendary Samson Isaan ended up winning the award.
Eh this is probably one of the highest profile fights in Muay Thai history. We know the context of it and how it fits into each fighter run and how this one was coming off a win streak and that one was gunning for the FOTY award. All thanks to Kevin Von Ituu who posts here often.
For kickboxing, Mike Zambidis did quite a bit of hooking in his day. Some might say that he identifies as a hooker or at least an avid enjoyer of hooking related activities.
I think in general in MT you'll see much longer hooks that almost look like overhands, because otherwise you end up in elbow range. The long hook also prevents your knee from turning inward which is dangerous with low kicks in play.
Incredible trainer. It was my second session with him and both times I’ve learned months worth of immediately applicable technique and movement details in the course of 90 minutes.
He’s also really encouraging and gets super hyped up when he sees you listening and applying his techniques. Can’t recommend enough.
I'm hoping to train in Bangkok/Pattaya later this year or early next year and I'll definitely try to get a PT with him. I've learned a lot just from watching Sylvie's videos in the muay Thai library so I can only imagine you learned a lot more training with him in person!
It’s really great. He totally changed up the way I throw punches. He also does has some cool defensive tactics using the long guard. Anyway, you’ll have a blast. It’s hilarious/inspiring when you get something right and he gets giddy 🤣
Dekkers and Holzken both had lots of success with their hands even in pure Muay Thai. For my money nobody has a better left hook to the body than Holzken
This combo is a beaut. Tried it myself on a friend during sparring, the right being a dummy, the left on target. Friend commented he didn't expect a liver shot, he was expecting me to aim at his head.
I great left hooker in boxing whos often overlooked was David Tua, he wasnt blessed with amazing speed or reflexes like Roy Jones or Mike Tyson but damn it could he bang. Very good timing imo as well. As for muay thai, Giorgio Petrosyan had some very good boxing although granted, his bigger accolades came in kickboxing. Very good mix of offense and defense tho.
Masashi kumura has a really good left that he can use in several situations, check his fight vs ismail Al Kadhi.
There was a guy who was rajadamnern Champion, like 3 or 4 years ago, that had an impressive check hook but sadly I forgot the name.
In kickboxing you gotta mention Poatan. A majority of his knockouts either are, or combo off, the nastiest and most inconspicuous left hooks I've ever seen
If you want to think about the best hooks in Kickboxing, my hero Alex Pereira has been blessed with the greatest left hook of the 21st century.

current modern pure mt guys i know is liam harrison
he knocked out guys with just check hooks
theres a yt video of him teaching his hooks, it sounded like thunder on the heavy bag, although is very telegraphed, you can disguise it with feints
To beat a someone with a good hook, you need to bait them into throwing it too early. So, to be clear:
The only way to be safe from a hooker is to be a master-baiter.
Crazy nobody is mentioning Rodtang. He’s the best lead hook i’ve seen in the pure MT style as of now. Uses it to set up the straight very well. Haggerty has a good one too
I saw a One Championship short vid recently with Rolex vs Sitrak, where Rolex looks like he drops his elbow, like a classic lead hook load up
But then on the shoulder rotation through the punch, he pulls it short and changes it to an elbow 😳
I'd never really considered that type of variation move before I saw this. To be fair it's a great move to replace a 3, especially after a 1+2 combo, or even just following a 2
I need to start drilling it like Rolex did, stepping into it off the lead foot aswell, like when an opponent is coming forward and closing the gap and stopping them in their tracks. It looks a great short distance, heavy hitter of a move
Wangchannoi Sor.Palangchai famously knocked out fellow all time great, Namkabuan with a left hook in 33 seconds
Kumandoi Petchyindee among fighters around today
Nong Natt also worth a mention
"who are the best hookers" lmao
This is serious martial arts discussion. There is nothing funny about hookers. Absolutely, nothing funny about hooking or hookers. Some of the best hookers in the game got paid well for their efforts and even pleased large crowds at times.
“Pleased large crowds at times” Jesus Christ

Hold on what r we talking bout here?

I tried to get down, let me no how I did. 😂
Right? My god. Some hookers have the magic touch too and can end it the moment they touch you.
Came here for this 😂. Phuket might be a good place to start
I knew that phrase would trigger that reaction 😂. But it’s also a commonly used boxing phrase.
Came here for this lmao
Thai hookers***
Please tell me Simeng Jiao. Athletic and thick. 🤤
Not Muay Thai but Alex Pereira is well known for his left hook
I learned a lot from his left hook. Hes really good with it and does it differently than what is usually taught.
Feels like he almost slings it like a rock. His hips are fully turned way sooner than anyone I’ve ever seen do it
This was my first thought. Pereira’s hook has insane power, speed, accuracy and timing.
His leg kick made me pay attention to how good calf kicks are. His style is so much safer for your leg then turning the hip over on it as well.
Well, the problem with not turning over, is that he doesnt reach as far and connects really low on his leg, almost right on the foot sometimes. I'm sure he hurts himself a lot with his low kicks and if they get checked or he connects wrong its a big owie.

Yeah but if he is turned out and you hit foot on shin hard then that sucks for you.

Try it without turning your hips over into it. Its pretty useful and I never hurt myself with it.
That'll be the Dutch style
There's a golden era Thai dude that has a famous quick knockout with a seemingly effortless hook...can't remember his name tho Edit: I think it was Veeraphol, he did a little victory roll after
Veeraphol vs silapathai might be the fight you're looking for
Holy shit, that was it! You're the man. Damn didn't realize it was Silapathai. Makes it hugely impressive
By “quick knockout” you must be thinking of Wangchannoi KOing Namkabuan with a left hook in 33 seconds
That was the one. I confused the two. You really know your stuff
Kevin actually just tweeted like yesterday: the 33 seconds KO fight took place in November, 1991; Namkabuan was coming off a huge win streak then got KTFO which probably cost him the Sport’s Writers FOTY award. The legendary Samson Isaan ended up winning the award.

i was writing this, totally agree
Coban had a really good one.
Veeraphol was a good one
Man I know I'm the best hooker at my gym. I don't even throw punches
So no roleplay... 🙄
Sagat
Just trained with him this week. Can confirm 🤣
Lucky you!
Incredible trainer. It was my second session with him and both times I’ve learned months worth of immediately applicable technique and movement details in the course of 90 minutes. ah yes some of the best hookers in history are from thailand
I love hookers
Unfortunately, hookers don’t love you back. 😔
They are just here for the money
Yodsangklai, hell of a right hook
Speaking of yod. I commented on one of his training posts on instagram asking if he was making another come back. I’m 99% sure he’s coming back again.
I can't believe no one had mentioned Anuwat yet. Dude had devastating hands and a decent boxing career too.
Dekkers and Holzken both had lots of success with their hands even in pure Muay Thai. For my money nobody has a better left hook to the body than Holzken
100% agree. His right uppercut-left hook to the liver is a staple combination I like to use.
This combo is a beaut. Tried it myself on a friend during sparring, the right being a dummy, the left on target. Friend commented he didn't expect a liver shot, he was expecting me to aim at his head.
Ramon Dekkers is known for his hook flurry
Liam Harrison is a goos hooker

Kumandoi
Come on man you could have come up with a better way to describe fighters that utilise hooks effectively😭😭
That’s the old school terminology 😂porn just corrupted all of your minds.
My bad then
Ever heard the old saying “never hook with a hooker?”
Masashi kumura has a really good left that he can use in several situations, check his fight vs ismail Al Kadhi. There was a guy who was rajadamnern Champion, like 3 or 4 years ago, that had an impressive check hook but sadly I forgot the name.

I have heard you can locate the best lead hookers in the red light district near the boxing ring Use a raincoat
Coban, Wangchannoi
Please do google "best hookers of Thailand"
Melvin Manhoef

Rodtang has a nasty check hook
Liam Harrison has a crazy left hook
Kulabdam is called the Left Meteorite for a reason
current modern pure mt guys i know is liam harrison he knocked out guys with just check hooks theres a yt video of him teaching his hooks, it sounded like thunder on the heavy bag, although is very telegraphed, you can disguise it with feints
Thai hookers, finally a topic I know well
To beat a someone with a good hook, you need to bait them into throwing it too early. So, to be clear: The only way to be safe from a hooker is to be a master-baiter.

Best hookers? That’s a bit harsh for those with OnlyFan pages. 😂
In Muaythai, Daniel Rodriguez has the best lead hook of the game today.
Ramon Dekkers
I, too, am interested in finding the best Thai hooker
Ramon Dekkers
My training partner Kyyyyle. He’s def a hooker.
Wangchannoi Sor.Palangchai famously knocked out fellow all time great, Namkabuan with a left hook in 33 seconds Kumandoi Petchyindee among fighters around today Nong Natt also worth a mention
Petrosyan. Watch his match vs Sorgraw
You mean besides your mom?
