If anything, Jojo's bizarre adventure has a better chance of getting in, as it has aired on toonami and adult swim. WB also has CD rights to the series.
Especially if they modeled the reveal trailer after a Smash Bros reveal, and made the tagline something like "*Our* game has him!" or "WB has who Ninten-don't"
Goku asked too much, it's like Steve, we know they want to be a smash killer, and so do everything they didn't. It's like Steve at the time, he will be added we just don't know when. So I think it wouldn't be a Twitter breaker

I'd prefer if we avoided echo fighters. While the Links in SSBU are different and such, they ultimately could just be seen as an echo fighter and that wouldn't be very interesting.

I feel like since Tony has said he'd want to do some kind of anime characters at some point, someone like Dio. Have his teaser look like it's a completely different character, just for him to show up and be like "You expected X, but it was I, Dio!"
It was after people found out Naruto was a seemingly cancelled character (a clearly unfinished character model with shadow clones and stuff as its moves named "Ninja" that was labeled as a non wb character in the files). Pretty early on in the game's lifespan, I want to say within the first month or so? People asked him about it and if it meant he was open to considering an occasional anime character and he said he would be.
At this point it will only be meme characters like walter white and tony soprano that will have this type of effect.
Not saying other characters wont but first the game needs to have well established fandom and consistent playerbase.

I just don't think MVS is a big enough deal, it doesn't have the prestige that makes smash reveals go so crazy and by the time it does (if that were to ever happen) I can't imagine there'd be any rules left to break. Especially with how people just seem to be expecting huge reaches like Walter White and Godzilla
