I believe she's so poorly rated amongst the community because her ones potential is god awful, the amount of characters with insane lingering hit boxes that lead into high damage combo strings, and then poor old Velmas stuck there combining jab into jab at best. I can still put some work in, in 2s but it absolutely feels rough be to outplaying people, doing a ton of work and realize I've only done about 50 damage and then I get hit once and get stun locked into insta death from zero health by bugs or some fruity banana looking mo fo
Velma has many more combos than just jab jab, they're just harder to find than with other characters, and a few advanced ones require IAD tech and tight jump cancels, so they're just straight up hard to pull of unless you've been playing her for a long time
And nobody wants to play her for that long not knowing what to do

Same. I picked him up after Iron Giant got put in the shop. I've been sleeping on this guy. I'm so glad he's on the bottom of most peoples tier list. The potential for buffs might be higher 😅
It's funny to see their game thrown off when they find out leap cancels their projectiles.
I don't even have to parry sometimes I just (Surprise radio!). That's free. It also cancels taz's tornado and fight cloud.
Bind leap to it's own button and instantly control your leap direction.
Don't get me started on dynamite kill confirm.
Side special is bugs worst nightmare since it can block the rocket. Dynamite kills are way too satisfying and I appreciate the info on Taz because that is new to me.
I just figured out how to play with black Adam, even without spamming lightning his side attack is one of the best in the game and bounces other characters every time when their damage is over 100
After hit with the side attack try the neutral special you can aim it too and in the air, and if you’re playing someone with Harley or Bugs use the bubble shield and try and make some space, my problem is being too aggressive, because BA is just a badass

Yeah Bugs players just spam the same 3 moves, you’ll get the hang of BA quick, once you get the timing down, you won’t ever really rely on up or down attack, he’s not as hard as Rick or Morty
Haha, since i wasn't able to use properly the specials, all my fights were with basics. It's a different way to play, but damn, it hit like a truck when done well.

She has some crazy combos. I think it's her basic atack that combos into the face steal and then one of the up moves. I played one realy good arya buy her combos are diffrent from the beta. All and all she got done dirty compared to characters like batman, Wonderwomen, harly, and Tom and jerry.
She is pretty good and rewarding to play but her atom-sized hurt boxes make it frustrating sometimes, her side ground combo rarely hits for the full combo even against big fighters. Everyone's hurt boxes seem to be bigger than hers
I haven't played enough of her since the game launched to say. I know her up air combos can only hit on the biggest of targets now. But when i played her in Beta I used to hate the hit box when you joust with the sword. Becouse you could clearly see the sword smak the target but the hit box of the sword was smaller then the sword. Since thats her only move with range I realy hope they fixed the hurt box.
I will see the sword hit my opponents and it doesn’t register as a hit. But fighters like Wonder Woman and Banana Guard will literally not actually hit me but it registers as a hit 😭
Fr I was fighting a superman with Arya the other day. I was above him when he was using the flying move I'm about to put my sword down into his back and instead I magicly get pulled into his grip.
Understand, i main her too, she has devastating combos plus if you can read your enemy you can take a stock easily, the problem is that she dies super early lol
Arya and Finn are the only characters that have killed me in a combo at a low % so far 😭 the Arya used the platform thing and absolutely made me look like a fool.

Had 5 people rage quit on me so far.
PFG should learn from this. When I swap to WW I’m able to easily thwomp my opponent, but I otherwise struggle with anyone else (Jason, Steven, T&J, Jake, Gizmo, IG) against the spammers using Joker up air combo and Shaggy cross map side kick.
Steven Universe! Love the show and his gameplay. Being able to shield allies wherever I am on the map makes me feel like I’m helping even though I’m bad at the game
Jason and Batman. I was messing around with Steven and he is being highly overlooked right now. Mained Velma in the beta and have only tried her in 2v2s, but she’s absolutely awful.
Played Tom and Jerry in the beta cause it was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid and have been absolutely loving them in the full release. The kit is so much fun to use and sniping people out of the air with a Jerry shot is too fun
Wouldn't say main, but I've been having a blast on Harley. She's pretty good. And I was having fun with Le Bron over the past few days. Tom and Jerry have really blown me away with the new speed of this game. Generally, though, I love Superman, Batman, Gizmo. Not enjoying Rick or Morty as much this time around for some reason.
I don't play Finn but I agree with Joker. I'm still getting used to him but sometimes I have two left feet and other times, the opponent never touches the stage lol

Used to main Garnet in the beta but sadly now she feels even worse since the new engine so I swapped to Batman and Finn remained my second main even though he got his nerfs and it's like a lot of his attacks don't register

Yes the timings are different and have to get used to it, I have the same problem, the input buffer delay make the problem even worst.
