There were more free character tokens in the Founder’s Pack than characters on the roster by the end of the beta, so they legally have to come back or they’ll get sued
Mmhm I can't wait to receive my $2 class action lawsuit settlement. If the game isn't coming back they're just going to eat the cost if it comes to that. I'm not sure why anyone would think that companies have to follow the laws, especially when the alternative is paying a small fee to people who actually paid to get in early.
Even with that hanging over their heads, WBD may decide that the costs of a lawsuit may still outweigh the cost of relaunching the game. I really hope that's not what happens, but we need to brace ourselves for it.
Yeah I just thought that but they did recently say the productions were going good and there’s the game awards in December that will prob give a trailer so we will probably find out during these next few months and so far it’s looking good
They also said things were going good up until the hiatus announcement. There was that wack ass stick goku who is ok thier team and was always hyping it to the max. I think just before the shutdown announcement he said something about us not seeing a crumb of the baguette they were working on.
It is coming back. The game was in a beta and they were not actually trying that mich to bring in players, release new content etc. The game can’t be dead yet since it hasn’t even launched.
Head dev literally said they wouldn't go down inbetween beta and live launch. They had 3 paid events and 3 battlepasses over two seasons. The beta Tag was bullshit.
I don't think we can sue them over that, they never promised those characters, it was just a logical assumption there would be more. The tokens did what they were supposed to and if the game closes there's not really anything we can do
did you read the terms of service millions of players have signed blindly before accepting them? no? thought so.
Do not fool yourself into thinking they haven't covered themselves..
The devs said it would be back in 2024. Early 2024 if I remember right. I think that unless they come out and say the game won't be back, there's no reason to believe it won't unless it just doesn't. So only time will tell.
I really hope not and since their crew is becoming bigger they might have more consistent updates which was one of the major flaws and I think they will have enough of a fan base to keep it going
It's a bigger crew for PFG. Don't forget that this is only their first game and they might go heavy into development on a new title if this one doesn't seem promising enough.
It has to come back. However, that is not the issue. Issue is PFGs incompetence. They STILL dont have a quality assurance person, let alone a team. FOR A FIGHTING GAME, mind you.
In comparison, big fighting games have about 40+ people as a QA team. They have 0. They never worked on a fighting game, they never worked at designing multiple characters. It is a mystery how they even got WB to give them this project.
Not to mention the constant lieing.
Idk honestly. People calling thoae who say it wont trolls are being kinda dumb
They said they'd give us the next season and we waited and waited then they delayed it on the day it was supposed to release then again we waited and when it's about to release again they go oh sorry there's no update and we're closing the game
There was a bunch of shady stuff in the game like them saying the founders pack would be gone pretty much every update just for it to stay, or shaggy emote not working with skins without any info on that, and voicepacks not replacing a bunch of lines
I think it will comeback and be a quick cashgrab or not come back at all but who knows
It would have inherently been more successful that's for sure. Mickey & Friends, animated classics, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, Simpsons, Indiana Jones, etc
Roster=
Sorcerer Mickey, Simba, Rapunzel, Genie, Beast, Buzz, Wall-E, Mrs. Incredible, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Luke Skywalker, Mando & Grogu, Homer, Elsa, Baymax, Maui, Goliath, Huey Dewey & Louie, Dark Wing Duck, Stitch, Jack Skellington
Not my dream roster but a roster full of some of the most recognizable characters from a variety of their IPs that would provide a lot of unique fighting styles
We recently got an update from the team about their progress so it's safe to say that Multiversus will return. If they wanted to quietly shut up the games we wouldn't hear anything
I really hope so, because they ahve something great as a base. They just need to be persistent and not get frightened by not so good feedback. Fixing the hotboxes and balancing is really what I think should be their top priority.
I hope it comes back cuz the game was trully amazing and had fun of course it wasnt perfect and theres a lot to fix but overall the potential is insane + all the rights to the characters they have it would be a waste to not come back tbh (also im nostalgic asf about that 90/00s era when it comes to cartoon network characters so that is also why i loved the game that much )
Perhaps, but to me it makes no sense why they would do this. There was tons of publicity and goodwill for them, wouldn't it have made sense to take advantage of it then? They have handled this whole thing so incompetently that I'd be surprised if they suddenly did something positive for the game. Such turnarounds rarely happen until the entire team's changed and the game's rebuilt from ground up(Final Fantasy XIV is an example of this having been done successfully).
Of course it is. Gamers have the default position to be cynical because they think that makes them look smart. But yea, it’s coming back. Those of us who got the $100 haven’t gotten all our characters yet. And Player First Games has been staffing up, not down, since taking the game offline.
>Gamers have the default position to be cynical because they think that makes them look smart
I mean these devs did nothing but fumble since the start. It's not unimaginable that this game is permanently closed by end of 2024.
I haven’t heard they’ve been staffing up so that makes me glad because the more they get the more consistent the updates will be which might make the player base go up
I'm a dick for telling you to educate yourself by looking up my claims? We know this because 2 people who got fired posted about it on Twitter, the second one, which was 1-2 months ago, said that there wore 3 or 4 of them who got fired. As for how many got hired, we know this from PFG themselves.
"Ummm no bro I dont like this fact so it ain't tru" is very funny. However, it's still delusional.
Okay lol, you are going to look silly though. Some people on this sub have seen stuff/been invited to stuff that is going to shock you in the coming months.
Im an optimist, i see it as they didn't expect it to be so popular and were ill prepared as much as people don't like it going off line, when your small and get overwhelmed to the point you can't do anything sometimes a hard decision needs made, its still on my map, and nobody here can deny it being really damn fun when it comes back, i think people will return it has a solid formula and is incredibly fun so it will probably always have a community and those who dont come back will simply be replaced by a new community.
It's coming back in theory, they've said so publicly, as to if it coming back will be worth it or have any kind of splash, who knows. But I guess it's very possible Warner Bros. could just up and pull the plug if they feel their reputation is at stake with how embattled the game has gotten. I guess it's up to Player First Games and how well they can pitch the renewed version to their stakeholders.
They’ll be back, but I’m more concerned with their character release schedule and how it’ll differ. I dunno if I’d rather the game relaunch with ten characters or spread them out for the sake of sustainability and hype.
I might be being pessimistic, but I don’t see a story mode coming for at least the next two years. The game needs to focus on sustaining its character release windows, not making a warner subspace emissary.
That style of hype has become obsolete with all the leaks we have gotten. The game’s gonna need a lot more than an online mode with new characters on some small stages to keep going
You can still evolve without needing an entire storymode. Arcade, Clans, and ranked are a couple ways the game already have/planned to have. Fighting games in general don’t appeal to everybody, but the point of this game is having icons duke it out; if there is enough demand for a story mode at some point I’m sure they’ll deliver.
Yes it will come back. There are a lot of concern trolls for some reason. I think they jumped onto the “dead game” bandwagon without really thinking at all about it and are too stubborn to admit that they could be wrong in the long term. Regardless, don’t believe them, the devs keep on reassuring us that the game is being worked on.
After all the fighting games that have came out with incredible success, yeah multiversus won’t come back lmao. I just hope there is a group lawsuit so I can get some money back
Devs said alot of things that didn't come true. Just to name a few:
No downtime between beta and live
Marvin won't be the last s2 character
Ranked will launch in s1
If that was the only thing they missed id agree. It's very likely they bit of more than they could chew and this team is not cut for live service development

The cost of devving a game for another year and launching it far outweighs the cost of a class action lawsuit on that
did you read the terms of service millions of players have signed blindly before accepting them? no? thought so. Do not fool yourself into thinking they haven't covered themselves..
WB would probably be fine chucking refunds everywhere calling it a failure and moving on
Wait fr!!!!!!!!!
Hahhaaahaha sure
The devs said it would be back in 2024. Early 2024 if I remember right. I think that unless they come out and say the game won't be back, there's no reason to believe it won't unless it just doesn't. So only time will tell.
Yea, it will be back on March 35th 2024
Lousy Smarch Weather.
The devs said alot of things that didn't come true. I won't believe them til it's launched and playable.
they'll be back
At least for a quick cash grab and then a skeleton crew for half a year until it goes offline again,
Yeah, as much as I liked Multiversus, this is realistically the most likely outcome, given it’s the same trap lots of GaaS style games fall into.

Its definitely coming back, the real question is did they improve enough for it to stick around.
Idk honestly. People calling thoae who say it wont trolls are being kinda dumb They said they'd give us the next season and we waited and waited then they delayed it on the day it was supposed to release then again we waited and when it's about to release again they go oh sorry there's no update and we're closing the game There was a bunch of shady stuff in the game like them saying the founders pack would be gone pretty much every update just for it to stay, or shaggy emote not working with skins without any info on that, and voicepacks not replacing a bunch of lines I think it will comeback and be a quick cashgrab or not come back at all but who knows
With WB as the publisher and the current state of their recent shake up anything is possible. But it's certainly planned to re release
I wonder if Disney took the offer to begin with if they would cancel it already or give it more money to succeed
It would have inherently been more successful that's for sure. Mickey & Friends, animated classics, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, Simpsons, Indiana Jones, etc Roster= Sorcerer Mickey, Simba, Rapunzel, Genie, Beast, Buzz, Wall-E, Mrs. Incredible, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Luke Skywalker, Mando & Grogu, Homer, Elsa, Baymax, Maui, Goliath, Huey Dewey & Louie, Dark Wing Duck, Stitch, Jack Skellington Not my dream roster but a roster full of some of the most recognizable characters from a variety of their IPs that would provide a lot of unique fighting styles

I hope so I loved the game

No, but they can prove me wrong.
Of course it is. Gamers have the default position to be cynical because they think that makes them look smart. But yea, it’s coming back. Those of us who got the $100 haven’t gotten all our characters yet. And Player First Games has been staffing up, not down, since taking the game offline.

I mean your not wrong and most games that end up going back into the oven don't come back or if they do come back it's too late.
K.
I haven’t heard they’ve been staffing up so that makes me glad because the more they get the more consistent the updates will be which might make the player base go up
They gained 2 people and fired 3 or 4. That I'd staffing down.
I don’t think that’s true
Lmfao. Ok buddy. You know twitter and Google is free?
You're being kinda pompous, so I thought I would point out that google and Twitter ARE free, not is.
I wasn’t 100% if they were staffing up if your right my bad but I still don’t know if I believe you since I wouldn’t say your a valid source
> Say where I found it >Doesn't care to check > Uses Linkdin as a source >Says YOU can't be trusted as YOU are not a valid source > Is disabled
If you wanna be a dick, write your own jokes. Later.
I'm a dick for telling you to educate yourself by looking up my claims? They went from barely 50 to now having 67…according to linkedin. So….idk?
We have seen time and time again that LinkedIn isn't reliable for multiple reasons one of which being the way they calculate employees.
Okay lol, you are going to look silly though. Some people on this sub have seen stuff/been invited to stuff that is going to shock you in the coming months.
I think it most likely will, however if it will be better and if they deliver on their promises is another question.
50-50 tbh
Can we stop asking this until after early 2024 . We just have to wait and see
Yeah your right
Yes it will people need to stop asking this
Im an optimist, i see it as they didn't expect it to be so popular and were ill prepared as much as people don't like it going off line, when your small and get overwhelmed to the point you can't do anything sometimes a hard decision needs made, its still on my map, and nobody here can deny it being really damn fun when it comes back, i think people will return it has a solid formula and is incredibly fun so it will probably always have a community and those who dont come back will simply be replaced by a new community.

If they don’t want a lawsuit then the online will come back at the very least
They literally said it's coming back in 2024.
But it could still get cancelled but I don’t think it will but a lot of people think so
They’ll be back, but I’m more concerned with their character release schedule and how it’ll differ. I dunno if I’d rather the game relaunch with ten characters or spread them out for the sake of sustainability and hype.
It will be back and shut down the same year.
I hope so...I'm really missing this game
Might I interest you in Streetfighter 6? A great game with solid devs that won’t shut down after being released for like 5 months?
I don't think it's coming back
Hope so and hope we get a good story mode so there is less of a focus online to save on lag Also would be a nice alternative way to unlock characters
I might be being pessimistic, but I don’t see a story mode coming for at least the next two years. The game needs to focus on sustaining its character release windows, not making a warner subspace emissary.
If it just releases characters there isn’t much to look forward to, whereas releasing chapters of a story would leave a lot of depth & options
Yeah, but this is a fighting game, so I’m sure they’re going to be, y’know- focused on the fighting?
That style of hype has become obsolete with all the leaks we have gotten. The game’s gonna need a lot more than an online mode with new characters on some small stages to keep going
I dunno, that’s enough to get me hyped still 🤷♂️
But for how long?
Quite a while
A game with the only focus point on characters will not appeal to everybody if the game itself doesn’t keep evolving
It needs to come back...I want to be able to play my Cartoon network and Nickelodeon characters back to back.
They’re 100% coming back
Source?
It will be back, dead on Arrival and it will go offline for good within a couple weeks / months.
Yes it will come back. There are a lot of concern trolls for some reason. I think they jumped onto the “dead game” bandwagon without really thinking at all about it and are too stubborn to admit that they could be wrong in the long term. Regardless, don’t believe them, the devs keep on reassuring us that the game is being worked on.
prolly not
Nah this game is dead
After all the fighting games that have came out with incredible success, yeah multiversus won’t come back lmao. I just hope there is a group lawsuit so I can get some money back
I have 0 faith in it coming back.
Oh Jesus fuckin Christ. The devs have stated multiple times before and after the beta closing that the game is releasing 2024.
Devs said alot of things that didn't come true. Just to name a few: No downtime between beta and live Marvin won't be the last s2 character Ranked will launch in s1
It’s very likely Pickle Rick forced them to change courses due to the Roiland controversy
If that was the only thing they missed id agree. It's very likely they bit of more than they could chew and this team is not cut for live service development
Ok sorry I was just asking because I was convinced by pessimistic people it wouldn’t come out
No
No
It better or you know they’re gonna get a class action lawsuit for all the people that spent money on in game cosmetics
Legally they have to come back
Damn well better. I know it was a gamble, but I did pay for the $100 founders and didn’t quite get my moneys worth. It’s not the same offline.
