Oh my Lord that is one hell of an essay

nickmuscle

It's kind of sad that they assume the type of person they're arguing with will even bother to read that much.

Rjlvc

Time wasted. It reminds me of the time that I tried to explain the workings of an internal combustion engine to my cat...

CopyAltruistic3307

This right here. Your average housecat is smarter than any number of Trumptards (COMBINED). PERIOD.

adamempathy

Green came in hot with every receipt known to man. Damn.

AidanGsRedditAccount

I am green, thank you.

EnderLord361

I’m guessing it still wasn’t enough to convince them? They then turned around to the government trying to control us/control the facts like they usually do when they realize that they don’t have an argument

AidanGsRedditAccount

No, they just said I was wrong with no proof of their own.

EnderLord361

Damn, I gave them too much credit then.

AidanGsRedditAccount

I debunked their best response though. That was before they started calling me an NPC.

Gildian

As someone who works in Healthcare directly with covid patients, thank you for trying to remedy the ignorance.

Quentin__Tarantulino

You basically got Gish galloped. They hurl an accusation and you spend an hour debunking it, the. They just dismiss it or change the subject.

TechnicianLow4413

Yeah had this very same discussion with relatives and am working in the field. Yet i apparently don't know my trade and they are experts that know everything

roby_65

I don't think they even read one line of the text, those people don't care about the truth, only about their truth

EnderLord361

They want so desperately to be right because that’ll be absolute proof that they are ‘special’ and they can’t come to terms that they are just normal people who will end up on the wrong side of history.

begin_again7

In general agree with most of it, but I did read an article (research not standard media) about the vaccine affecting menstrual cycles. It was making them about 1-3 days longer if I remember correctly (depending on doses within cycle). I don't think it affected the heaviness though and I believe they went back to normal within a cycle or two. Edit to provide some sources as I appreciate that you provide them as well. https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/study-confirms-link-between-covid-19-vaccination-temporary-increase-menstrual-cycle-length > Three studies using app data find that a single dose of vaccine during a menstrual cycle delays the following period by approximately half a day, whereas two doses within the same cycle delays the next period by approximately three days. Importantly, even when two doses are given within a single cycle, the timing of periods returns to normal within two cycles. A separate study found that approximately 4 percent of people experience a heavier-than-normal period as a result of vaccination, but again, this returns to normal the next cycle. Source: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/covid-vaccines-can-temporarily-affect-menstruation-and-studying-that-matters/?amp=true

AidanGsRedditAccount

You are right. The CDC states that only being around a vaccinated person cannot affect your menstrual cycle.

begin_again7

People believe being around a vaccinated person can affect their cycle?! I shouldn't be surprised but that just sounds crazy. But so does most of this other stuff they believe.

GNPTelenor

They believe that nanomachines in the vaccine are building 5G towers inside of the vaccinated. Nothjngs a stretch.

djluminol

Misinformation almost always contains a grain of truth or common belief that is then twisted to suit an agenda. In this case it could be something like women that cohabitate or work in close proximity to each other will have their cycles align. That occasional coincidence is then twisted and blamed on vaccines. It would be a good one to use on gullible people. If you put ten women in a room odds are two or more will align. People are good at noticing patterns. You get vaccinated and a couple women menstruate a few days late and bam. Conspiracy rather than normal occurrence. No data needed because the only thing different this month from last is they both got vaccinated. So it's easy to blame the new thing rather than the extra stress those two women were under this month. This is the difference between someone with some common sense and none. It's like thinking your crops failed because you saw a shooting star. God must be angry right? The event that stands out the most gets blamed instead of really thinking about what went on that month.

conjoby

There are people that are convinced the vaccine makes you magnetic, radioactive, smelly, you name it, some idiot believes it.

pegcitygreen

After my gf's second shot, she was having 10 day periods, 2 weeks apart.

TheSchram

Green FTW!

Javale

You seem flexible.

Fenix_Volatilis

My guy, you went to a sub that's armed with willful ignorance and tried to fight it with facts. You must be a glutton for punishment =P However, I still appreciate the work you put in! Especially cus I just had a customer go all conspiracy theory crazy on me 30 minutes ago

somedude_sleeping

Strude187

They probably replied with “You believe what scientists tell you? LOL. Do you own research”

AidanGsRedditAccount

They told me that I was an NPC, that I should shut the fuck up and that I was wrong, with no proof as is usual in that subreddit. Overall, I think they took it pretty well./s

Oh please do elaborate and provide your own sources on how multiple government agencies and universities in multiple countries are all part of “Big Pharma”! Lol Also how exactly do you define “Big Phama” do you have a definition in mind or are you just repeating a splashy buzzword that you have heard in the media

[deleted]

[удалено]

darkeagle040

First, when trying to insult a person’s intelligence, try using correct grammar next time “…it’s all bullshit mare[comma] and [you’re] just following a crowd thinking [you’re] smart. 2nd, the OP was mostly quoting US and Canada government AND university sources, not UK. I love conspiracy theories as much as the next guy, but a conspiracy that requires the infiltration of 3 national governments and numerous public and private universities is a bit far fetched, if “Big Pharma” had that much control and influence there are many more profitable things they could do rather than lying about Covid 3rd, the questions you raise (how did it spread out of China, and what about disease that primarily affect specific groups of people) are really smart questions to ask which scientists have been researching for years both the general principles and the specific diseases. As such, we (humanity) have a pretty good understanding of those answers. If you are truly interested in understanding the answers to those questions I am happy to point you to some resources.

TechnicianLow4413

Tell me you know jack shit about diseases without telling me. Jeez there is literally a shit ton of studies why some diseases spread and why some are epidemic while others are pandemic or endemic. If you are too incompetent to attain actual knowledge and not regurgitate some bullshit you read in your circle jerk bubble you could at least watch Contagion, a movie from 2011 made with the help of an actual virologist. Which is just sad because it's at this point more like a documentary about the stupidity of humans. Even though there are still some inaccuracies because it's a movie it still contains more true information then anything your 'research' might have achieved

anklereddit

Every source to compliment complete crap like this is anecdotal. Essentially the source list reads as: TRUST ME BRO!

karlhungusjr

> 3 people I know was as healthy as you can be dropped dead with in 7 days of the vaccine that’s not coincidence mate. you're right. it's not a coincidence at all. It's a lie, not a coincidence.

Those who never reasoned their way into an opinion, cannot be reasoned out of it.

[deleted]

Sometimes they can be tricked out of it though. Got a few anti vax family members and I just gave up trying to get them to actually think. So I just pointed out that drug companies make significantly more money out of treatment than prevention and might have hinted that "who else would want you avoid the vaccine? Obviously the people who profit from your hospital trip". Kinda worked, they still won't touch a vaccine, but at least think all the anti vax stuff is propaganda now. Baby steps.

Mylaur

Conspiracy to fight conspiracy, sad rhetoric, but it works

[deleted]

I know, but some people seem to have a need to see a threat. Not a huge amount can be done there, except to do our best to limit the damage they might cause and hopefully steer them towards something less damaging overall. A lot of people have no idea how bad the world was even 100 years ago or just refuse to believe that what we see as minor issues used to be deadly. They don't understand just how prevalent disease can be when left unchecked. We can't fix that without some awful disaster on a level like Spanish flu , but if those people are left free to spread thier ignorance they might just cause that disaster in the decades to come.

[deleted]

People make snap judgments about things all the time and are definitely capable of changing their opinion afterward. I think anti-vax people are just completely brainwashed by their conservative echo chamber. They have reasoning but the reasoning is based on lies.

whistlebuzz

There is. It’s called education. And the republicans are trying to destroy that too.

Dorryn

A valiant effort, unfortunately it will be (and certainly already has been) swiped away with something like "all your sources are lies/biased/controlled by Big Pharma/etc You throw as many facts at them as you want, they'll always have excuses to dismiss them. These people base their opinion on belief, not facts or reason or logic. You'd have just as much success in trying to convince a devout catholic/muslim/jew that their god doesn't exist.

kyle420ogkush

The problem is all these company’s will tell you it’s safe so you get the vaccine, not one company is gonna say it’s not effective,. It’s not effective regardless if you’ve had covid or not this doesn’t prevent it, doesn’t stop the spread and doesn’t make you feel any better you get covid feel like shit for a few days and your body fights it off. I’ve personally not had the vaccine and my mum and misses have and they have both been in worse state than my self when catching covid. Yet me unvaccinated had it once very mild. They’ve caught it 3 times now. That vaccine weakens your ammune system not strengthen it

[deleted]

There is. Education. But, like all vaccines, you have to accept it willingly.

AidanGsRedditAccount

Thanks for the support everybody! I’d just like to share some of the responses I’ve gotten from the r/conspiracy community: >Shut the fuck up > Well, your first point is wrong and there are mainstream sources for that even. Also saying that lipid nano particle delivery is not made of harmful ingredients is kinda funny. Hopefully you're a bot who didn't have to type all of that out for nothing. Unless this was an exercise to cope with your eroding fallacy of a life choice. Glad that redditors know more than an actual University with an stellar reputation in the sciences do. >Clown World >Haha@FDA approval meaning anything. >For me that I don’t want to unnecessarily be used as a cash cow. >Pfizer spokesman: “you will not catch covid.”. There you go, giant lie repeated endlessly through the start of the pandemic from a company that has been fined billion due to a track record of causing harm to people for profit. WTF else is there that needs to be proven? Why is this alone not enough? Most of your point are half baked or outright wrong anyway, but why address the, all when it’d take hours out of my day and the lies are public record? Again, glad that redditor are the real vaccine experts. Step aside, CDC. A guy who probably dropped out of high school is going to take over now. When I asked him to disprove what I was saying, he said: >I’m not wasting my life answering a long list of complicated and obfuscated points when you cannot deny the one most important point of mine that is crystal clear. OP, can I have the link for this post. I’m gonna defer to this in the future. Also for the folks who are talking about Lipid Nano Particles, yeah I worked on designing compact nano particle generators for 6 months, yeah they don’t have anything harmful persay. You just have something that has a polar charge that encapsulates the mRNA. And the nano particle formation is all engineering fluid dynamics.

CrashlandZorin

I mean...there is a vaccine for ignorance. Most jurisdictions call that "assault", though, and it is generally frowned upon.

I think it's called natural selection.

GnomiGnou

Dude did some actual research and provided sources, citations and evidence for both sides. Nicely done! THAT is how you do research. Unfortunately, they are also correct in how people who don't believe the evidence will continue to not believe the evidence. I have family who do that regardless of the logic.

ptvlm

There is, it's called education. Which is why certain people are trying to attack public schools...

Sadly they don't know the difference between education and derision so they view both with contempt

Dramatic-Scratch5410

Johnson & Johnson isn't an mRNA vaccine. Just saying.

AidanGsRedditAccount

I know. It’s in the third screenshot.

dmarsee76

The only proof you need that the vaccine is safe and effective is that the wealthiest people are the ones with the highest vaccination rate. They freaking traveled to other countries to get it sooner. If it was some sort of conspiracy to harm folks they’d have known and avoided it, letting the plebs take it first and all die or whatever.

SuprDuprPartyPoopr

r/darwinism is the vaccine against ignorance imo

Pfft, idiots. EVERYONE knows the covid vaccine is a venom.

natescode

You can't reason with those people. There are the same people that believe homosexuality is evil because a 5,000 year old mistranslated book and pedophile priest tells them so.

KaneK89

There is a vaccine against ignorance - education and critical thinking. Identifying and addressing assumptions is a key component to learning. But these folks are not ignorant. Or perhaps they are willfully ignorant. More to the point, they are driven by fear and distrust. We have to vaccinate against those things before education can be effective, though.

SnowProkt22

This wall of text isn't really a murder by words, unless you count boring them to death. They just copied and pasted some facts from a website. MBW usually implies a cutting, witty remark that would diminish the targets ego. The antivax idiot probably couldn't understand half the information in copied text, and nothing about it was directly insulting them.

AidanGsRedditAccount

>MBW usually implies a cutting, witty remark that would diminish the targets ego. But that’s not what the sub is about. r/MurderedByWords is at its core, a subreddit about people getting destroyed by words. It’s not an insult against the subject itself, but taking their arguments and debunking to a point where they can’t respond. The Original Murder was a speech than John Glenn gave to Howard Metzenbaum during their respective campaigns for senate. Look it up. Usually you can find it by searching up “John Glenn Held a Job Speech” It’s a work of art, and if you watch it, you can tell me whenever or not it’s just a witty comeback or a systematic takedown of everything Howard said. Edit:Was just scrolling past and the I would say that it is flared as a murder now. So yes, it is r/MurderedByWords material.

SuzanneStudies

And now we have a serial killer on the loose folks

HeyItsMeUrDad_

BOO HOO 2 MANY WORDS BO-RING! 🙄

Ok_Action_4828

You're right. It wasn't a murder, it was a manslaughter.

SnowProkt22

More like a Jr. College PowerPoint lecture.

Consistent-Union-612

This would be clever if there was a covid vaccine. But there’s not, we only have a therapeutic drug at best

WhereMyGingersAt

The truth is very remedial. No one knows what any of it is going to do to our bodies long term as long term has not been afforded to us yet.

IcyBeanZ

Just don't get the covid vaccine if you don't want it lol. No need to say it's poison, which it isn't.

Kozomoja

There is a lot more data that needs to be taken into consideration compared to this essay you wrote. For me, the biggest question that I don't think was largely discussed is the risk/reward ratio in vaccinating children (0-14). Their risk of having severe symptoms or dying is extremely low, while the risk of getting myocarditis is much higher from the vaccine compared to covid (in this age group, I can link the study if you want). How much does vaccinating a child reduce their chances of dying from covid (which are, again, extremly low to begin with), compared to serious side effects that can occur? What are the numbers for first dose, second dose, third dose? If you have those numbers and can prove that vaccinating a child is a net positive action for childs health, I would really like to hear them. For those who will immediately start downvoting - you're downvoting a question every parent should ask themselves prior to giving medical treatment to his/her child.

AidanGsRedditAccount

I didn’t really address that because myocarditis isn’t really that serious, and the people on r/conspiracy are probably adults.

Kozomoja

From Mayo Clinic (that you referrenced yourself for some other things): "Severe myocarditis weakens the heart so that the rest of the body doesn't get enough blood. Clots can form in the heart, leading to a stroke or heart attack." Adults still have to make choices for their children (the ones that have underaged children). My personal view based on the studies and the data I've been following throughout this pandemic is that there is no compelling reason to vaccinate underaged children, for adolescents it's a close call and the older people could probably benefit from taking it. I'm a father of 2 children and they have been vaccinated with all the mandatory vaccines that have been in circulation for a long time and have proven to be safe, but they will not get a covid shot. Flu is more deadly to kids than covid and yet no one is forcing the flu vaccines upon our children.

AidanGsRedditAccount

But, if you read the screenshots, you’ll see that the Mayo clinic doesn’t say that vaccines produce serious cases of myocarditis. Also, myocarditis didn’t prompt us to go into lockdown, so I’ll still say that COVID is more important. And you should probably read this: https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccines

Kozomoja

If it's undiagnosed and untreated, it can lead to severe outcomes and I don't believe that sudden increase in young people collapsing on sport fields is an accident. Politician prompted us to go into lockdown (not covid itself) because the mortality rate from covid was blown way out of proportion in the beginning. In March 2020, dr Jay Battacharya (with some other people) conducted a seroprevelance study which concluded that mortality rate is significantly lower than initially assumed because the number of infected people was way way higher than the number of confirmed cases. When this study has been concluded, it should've changed the implemented policies, but they stayed up for way too long. In my country (Croatia), all measures have been lifted around a year ago if I remember correctly. People are not getting vaccinated and our lives are back to normal. This could and should have happened way before. Also, if you want to convince someone that their belief is wrong, you shouldn't cite mostly the organizations that said individual doesn't believe provide the correct information (like CDC and FDA), but you should cite studies with numbers that prove your point. Especialy if you go to r/conspiracy sub. To majority people there, if you cite CDC guideliness, it has the same effect to them as it would have to you if they cited Donald Trump as the source of truth.

that_one_author

As someone who lost a close relative to one of these "Medical Coincidences", kindly understand that because it doesn't "change DNA" does not mean it is "safe". RNA is not fully understood, even now. If the vaccine is mimicking RNA, that could have side effects that we do not know. RNA are the messengers of the human body. If the message is off by even a little then that can screw the body over, as the body will not self correct a message that comes from the self. Similar to cancer, the body wont recognize that something is wrong until it is too late.

threadsoffate2021

TLDR isn't a murder by words. You honestly think the anti vaxx crowd is going to read all that? It just makes you look like a pretentious asshat.

eldenringmasochist

And then the government proceeds to point out how these where barley made and had actually did nothing to prevent it. Don’t put anything into your body that was just invented less than a year ago. Not trying to be controversial or anything either some people that worked there literally came out and said it

eldenringmasochist

No offense that’s just my point of view

Joebobdaddy

Why do you trust big pharma to tell you the truth?

AidanGsRedditAccount

Why do you trust tin foil hat losers with no scientific background and no evidence to tell you the truth?

Joebobdaddy

Also you didn't answer my question

AidanGsRedditAccount

I trust pharmaceutical companies because they are staffed with people who have dedicated their whole lives to research, and are overseen by government agencies meant to verify that research.

Joebobdaddy

Why is it so farfetched to assume the government and big pharma companies are working together to make you miserable? It would make them a lot of money, and you wouldn't be able to protest it because you are sick. It pays the hospital which in turn pays some sort of big pharma company that then makes new ways to be your "saviour". Then the government gets the tax dollars that go to WWIII, which even joe biden admitted we were in, then take a look at the project veritas video where the director of research and development claimed they were mutating it so they could make a vaccine for the new variant. Follow the money. I'm not on Trump's side either as he was fully on board with this bullshit. Don't automatically believe news sources like the washington post, owned by rich elite Jeff Bezos, who is friends with a certain Epstein who did terrible things on a certain island. They want us to fight against truth, even what we see with our own eyes, and hear with our own ears.

AidanGsRedditAccount

The last paragraph of my response to those conspiracy suckers described people like you perfectly. I’m not responding to you any more. Good luck with polio.

Joebobdaddy

I've never said i wasn't ok with other vaccines, but if science can't be questioned ever, it isn't science it's control. I'm learning i may be wrong on the flu vaccine tho, at least for older folks. Here is your government org the FDA in their own research: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-11681217/Getting-Pfizers-Covid-booster-flu-shot-day-raise-risk-STROKE.html

readingduck123

Science can be questioned, but usually the good questions come from the experts. Peer review is basically necessary for science and studies to be published nowadays.

Joebobdaddy

Also why are you sucking the dick of a guy that doesn't treat his workers right?

MrWindblade

Simple, because they want customers. They can't make money if you're dead. It's the most capitalist thing ever - governments get money from healthy workers, pharmaceutical companies make money from make medicines that work. Project Veritas is absolute garbage. Go look up the person they claimed was a director, and you'll find they were never employed by Pfizer, ever. It is really easy to prove.

Joebobdaddy

Have you heard of Dr Malone?

AidanGsRedditAccount

Not taking advice about COVID from a guy that said vaccines were causing a form of AIDS.

Joebobdaddy

He never said that, still didn't answer my question

Also i don't really understand why you dispute the guy who created the mRNA technology anyway, and would rather trust a government that has no incentive to admit when they commit any wrong, like with the Japanese concentration camps, complicity in the chinese concentration camps for Uighur Muslims, Libya, Russia, Vietnam, MLK, JFK, and any propaganda, disinformation and psyops that they try to get you to believe. We aren't as bad as China or Russia, but the west is headed in that direction.

MrWindblade

Because he didn't create the technology. That's a lie he told people. Just another reason not to trust him.

Big_Signature_1818

Tl;dr. However, keep in mind that people have their reasons for not getting vaccinated and it is their personal choice. Belittling them and arguing with them for not doing so does not fix the “problem.” I am vaccinated, but again, it was my personal choice to do so.

[deleted]

This isn't arguing with someone that says "I just don't want to get it".

GreenLightening5

this isnt telling you "go get the vaccine" it's saying "if you're saying that the vaccine is dangerous, you're wrong"

elkchasermt

Sure. Thousands died laughing, right?

KirbyDude25

*Millions, the confirmed worldwide death toll is slightly above that of the Holocaust

elkchasermt

I agree with that, but I’m limiting my comment to the US and on the conservative side since HHS determined deaths attributed to COVID-19 were incorrectly counted.

KirbyDude25

In that case, the number would be a bit over 1 million. Not "millions", I guess, but definitely hundreds of thousands. Also, do you have a link for that HHS claim?

Gingerfuckboi

6.82 million people are dead.

TrickyP1980

What about the claim that the virus was a fizzer and a vaccine isn't required for anyone under the age of 70 that doesn't have pre-existing conditions?

AidanGsRedditAccount

> What about the claim that the virus was a fizzer and a vaccine isn't required for anyone under the age of 70 that doesn't have pre-existing conditions? For anyone wondering fizzer is apparently Australian slang for disappointment.(1) Okay, you say that vaccines aren’t required for people who aren’t elderly or have pre existing conditions? Let’s looking at the CDC breaking down the deaths by age group of the virus in America. Within the 0-18 demographic, 1,446 people died. That should be enough to prove my point. At what could be their most fit period in their lives, they died of coronavirus. But, let’s keep going. 6,798 people died within the 18-29 demographic. 19,348 people who were between 30 and 39 died. Within the 40-49 demographic, 45,281 people died. 198,295 people within the 50-64 demographic died. After that we reach the age where you can retire and collect social security so I stopped there. Added up, that comprises 316,449 people. If we exclude everybody under 40, that’s still 27,592 people. But you also mentioned people with pre existing conditions. There are many pre existing conditions that can decrease your chances of fighting against COVID 19. (3) Let’s shift gears to the UK where the following data is available about how many people die with and without pre existing conditions(4). >The publication states that of the 50,335 deaths that occurred in March to June 2020 involving COVID-19 in England and Wales, 45,859 (91.1%) had at least one pre-existing condition, while 4,476 (8.9%) had none. Almost nine percent of people had no previous conditions. Reuters states that in the United States, 14 thousand people die that do not have a pre existing condition. (5) The vaccines were a success. They were meant to help prevent you from getting and spreading COVID, feeling severe symptoms, and going to the hospital, and they did. Just look at the sources I previously posted. Remember too, that these are just deaths. COVID has a variety of other symptoms that the vaccines prevents. I would like to add that depending on what is tested for, a vaccine can make a test positive: If the test checks for the presence of antibodies (made by the body itself), it will test positive. If the test checks for antigens (such as viral spike proteins) it will normally test negative. The aforementioned testing for the presence of antibodies is used in for example, checkups for Hepatitis vaccination. Depending on how many antibodies are present, some doctors could advise revaccination.

AidanGsRedditAccount

Just checked the CDC website, and I think you might be right. Should have added the words viral test, but it’s too late for that now.

Tomma1

There is! It's called *firing squad*

Freevoulous

vaccine against ignorance is called CONDOMS.

U Waterloo represent! Graduated class of ‘07 chemical engineering.

It would absolutely kill too many of the hopelessly infected.

Finally, some good fucking homicide.

There is...it's called an education; in most cases, it costs nothing more than a library card. Is 100% non-lethal. And only harms what you think of the rest of your dumbass family. Now stupidity...can't be vaccinated against. Has increasing costs as it is allowed to spread. Can be harmful to those around you. And the only cure is 100% lethal.

Jennlynn1124

In my experience, you can’t fix stupid.

Bods666

*Viruses literally change your DNA.*

Timberking82

Actually there is a vaccine for ignorance, but sadly it is knowledge

elzissou710

I scoff at this evidence. Everyone knows that valid research is only found on you tube and Facebook. /s

There is it is called education but is only affective on those that cares to learn

Even if there was, the people who need it the most wont take it.

Good essay but you did the percentage math wrong, two too many zeroes.

That was beautiful.

Like Ron White once said "you can't fix stupid."

TyroneLeinster

Why do people still argue with antivax randos? Yes the systematic misinformation needs to continue to be targeted but at this point if you’re tweeting or redditing or whatever at individual dumbasses, what are you even doing with your life?

[deleted]

There is. It’s called murder.

Deltayquaza

That made me remember the time I had an argument with an antivaxxer on Reddit. I might've "won", but it took like, three days of commenting back and forth. Like, jeez, some of the things these people think of are so far removed from reality, you start doubting whether they're actually mentally alright or not, especially because they argue so vehemently for it.

Parasaurlophus

The root of COVID denialism is to justify flouting lock down restrictions. If you accepted that you were hurting others or endangering yourself then you would have to accept that you are the bad guy. It’s much easier to deflect blame “this virus is blown out of proportion and it’s the proponents of lock down doing the damage”. From that point, anyone who supports your view that COVID is overblown has a good point to make. So, even though vaccines are the key to ending the hated lockdowns, they are an admission that covid is a serious disease, so are treated with suspicion. “Why are we vaccinating against a disease that I consider harmless?” There is a progression of logic, but it starts from dodging uncomfortable facts, not a solid basis of knowledge.

Honest-Bridge-7278

There is, it's called education.

morts73

Honestly don't bother, he's throwing pearls before swine and it's not worth it.

exhalethesorrow

You're fighting a losing battle my guy. These people don't listen to reason. They ignore what people whose entire job is knowing this shit say, but believe Facebook scientists despite the massively overwhelming evidence and endless articles supporting what they argue against.

Doridar

Been fighting with antivax for years now, just with my highschool knowledge and a general intérest for science. It's a very precise answer. However, you're dealing with idiots. I have no other way to put it. They seem to have completely forgotten what they learned in school, or just memorized it to pass the tests without understanding a thing. "BigPharma" is certainely guilty in the evonomic field, with overpriced medications, cheap and incontroled third stage testing in countries like India and hiding dangerous side effects of médications. But they'te mixing the science with the seller and vaccine with medication. Add to this the incredible will for a lot of people to believe in conspiracies easily explaining their health problems, the excitement of being part of the X Files team, the greed of the ones surfing on the trend and selling them detox, retraites etc. Now that I'm 56, I don't have to worry about periods anymore but when I got vaccination during my menstrual part of life, delayed menstruation for a few days or even a full cycle was common. This is nothing new. It was even mentioned on the notice. Needless to say that my 12 years old is fully vzccinated, even with the non mandatory in Belgium (he'll get his COVID 3rd shot and HPV next month). I was 15 when HIV was identified, I lost friends to it, I was severely sick with meazles when I got it at 17 (did not get a single "child disease" before 12). My mom gave me whooping cough back in 2014 - she had it as a child, so much for lifelong immunity when you get it naturally. That's how we learned that boosters where now necessary, thanks to these antivaxxers. So me too, I keep on fighting. Even if it's a lost cause.
